Sir Patrick Stewart Teases 'Xavier's Return In X-MEN: APOCALYPSE And Beyond

Although we know Apocalypse will focus primarily on the younger incarnation of Professor Xavier (James McCavoy) and co., Patrick Stewart isn't ruling out another reprisal. He also teases another appearance in a future X-flick..could it be the mystery movie coming in 2018? Possible SPOILERS.

One of the things X-Men: Days Of Future Past seems to be setting out to achieve is a passing of the torch from the original team to their younger counterparts; basically making way for the X-Men: First Class cast to continue the franchise. But does that mean we've seen the last of the likes of Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart? It certainly doesn't sound that way! When asked by MTV if he could return to the wheelchair for X-Men: Apocalypse, Stewart sounds positive. "I don't see why not. That is one of the blessings about fantasy and science fiction. You're never really dead. I would love to come back and do some more."   Is he insinuating that his character will be killed off in DOFP? We know that Fox have more X-movies planned out, right up to an as-yet untitled project set for release on July 18, 2018. Stewart also teases another future appearance for his Charles Xavier..is he referring to that? "There might be something else. A little bird has whispered that there might be something X-Men related." You can see the video at the link below.

ALegendaryPanda - 4/19/2014, 8:48 AM
I really hope apocalypse doesn't get delayed because of that whole "situation".
Starfox - 4/19/2014, 8:48 AM
@MrSlothBatmor

Singer said that:

"he transferred his consciousness and could possibly construct a body around that consciousness." So I guess that's how lol
MrBatmor - 4/19/2014, 8:51 AM
@starfox wait what!! So it wasnt explained in the movie!! Wtf!! Wont people be like...hey he was dead how'd he come back!?
WAYNE - 4/19/2014, 8:54 AM
@Starfox no thats completely incorrect. it was revealed that the body in the hospital bed from X3 was charles' twin who was born brain dead and once charles' body was dissentegrated by Pheonix he transferred his conciousness to it.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 4/19/2014, 8:55 AM
Hope he does. [frick] the reboot wanters
WAYNE - 4/19/2014, 8:55 AM
...dont know the explanation of why that body would be crippled too lol...another fox men plothole smh
Starfox - 4/19/2014, 8:56 AM
@MrSlothBatmor

lol I was thinking the same thing. That will definitely throw a lot of people for a loop, but I guess they didn't know that they would be doing DOFP for certain so they found a way to work around his Death in X3.

I'm all for it but yeah I agree that some will be like wtf! Glad he's back though.
Starfox - 4/19/2014, 8:57 AM
@WAYNE

Both are Correct.
WAYNE - 4/19/2014, 8:58 AM
I just get the feeling and am really hoping that the end of this movie rectifies the continuity annd changes thing to be more source material accurate
MrBatmor - 4/19/2014, 8:58 AM
Well singer most likely wont come back...

@wayne I dont thing prof x has that power...(to somehow die and after that put his Mind into some other body)...and he doesnt have a brother...

Wouldn't mind seeing him again in a cameo, but ngl I'd prefer they stop messing with time. Just have DofP fix the timelines (or the characters) into new verse and have Apocalypse in the 80s with Wolverine, young Charles, young Erik, Mystique, Beast, young Cyclops and/or Havok, young Nightcrawler, young Storm, Toad, a Sabertooth (maybe not 'Origins' one, just one from first film), and maybe young Jean (with a possibly a formation of the proper Brotherhood as seen in the first film). The films need to stop adding characters just for the fans and focus on what they have. Maybe at the most have Stewart Xavier as a narrator.

MrSlothBatmor, WAYNE, Starfox @ Yeah remember in the beginning of X3 he's talking to the students about a comatose patient and how it could be possible to transfer consiciousness? And then after the credits we hear him waking up in the same bed as the patient with Moira. So yeah it's assumed that is indeed Xavier having transferred his consciousness, and presumably into a twin.
dethpillow - 4/19/2014, 9:05 AM
interesting stuff, i really have no idea how they have these timelines set up after DOFP.

always been one of the most interesting things about this movie to me,
is just the time travel mechanics.
TheAbomination - 4/19/2014, 9:08 AM
He'll come back. But eventually, he's gonna call it quits.
