If you're in China and an Astroboy fan... Well, Good News for you!

Astroboy flight in China not barred.
If you happen to be residing in Mainland China and happens to be a fan of semi-naked little boy robots(hmmm... that didn't sound well), there's good news from you as stated by this article from SHH:

Imagi International Holdings, a leading producer of CG-animated feature films with studios in both Hong Kong and the U.S., today announced that it had secured mainland China co-production status for its film Astro Boy.

China's Film Bureau, which acts as the gatekeeper for foreign films seeking distribution in China, has awarded Astro Boy co-production status. The Film Bureau typically "blacks out" release windows around major national holidays. These windows are reserved for domestic and co-produced films.

"Co-production status means 'Astro Boy' can be released on the mainland in October, something foreign films are not permitted to do," said Chiong Kit Phoon, executive deputy chairman of Imagi. "Not only does co-production mean we get access to release windows not available to foreign films, we also receive a higher percentage of box office receipts."

Astro Boy will be released in mainland China on October 23, the same date Imagi's distribution partner, Summit Entertainment, is releasing the film internationally. "We are happy that audiences in China will be able to watch 'Astro Boy' at the same time as audiences around the world, especially since the People's Republic of China will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in October," said Phoon.

I just have a passing familiarity with Astroboy, but the CG does look nice. I'll watch this come opening night(though not in China I supposed).

Uh, no, if you're in COMMUNIST China there is NO good news for you!

COMMUNIST China has MURDERED more human beings than ANY OTHER NATION IN HUMAN HISTORY.

Of course, the ChiComs have bought and sold the Empire State Building, so they light it up in red and yellow to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the theft of China from its legitimate government, the REPUBLIC of China, after Truman screwed the Chinese people by refusing air support, but this American is NOT going to say one damn thing positive about that rotten, murderous, slimeball regime in Beijing.

One hundred twenty MILLION human beings executed in COMMUNIST China.

Of course, anyone who would celebrate that piece of crap Hitler would be shunned and rightfully so. But these days, with the world turned upside down, COMMUNIST China, deliberate butcher of 120 MILLION human beings, is feted and toasted in New York.

Hitler only DREAMED of the mass murder committed by the COMMUNIST Chinese. So, no, this here comic book fan doesn't give two units of rat's flatus that Astroboy has the Chinese Communist Party seal of approval. In fact, that completely kills this stupid move for me, period.

Chiong Kit Phoon is a MASS MURDERER and akin to Joseph Goebbels, mastermind of propaganda for Hitler's Nazi regime.

But then again, Hitler's Nazi Germany was only ONE TENTH AS EVIL AS COMMUNIST CHINA.

and, yes, I say this right here: Chion Kit Phoon gets off to semi-naked little boys, not robots, but only after they have gotten their bullet in the brain. Chion Kit Phoon gets off to kiddie porn snuff films just like Hu Jintao and the rest of the COMMUNIST Chinese Party functionaries.

COMMUNIST China is the seat of evil in the modern world. Can we please be spared their propaganda here, of all places?

access, it's your fansite, you have every right to delete my comments.

I tend to get my blood up when anything about the ChiComs is posted anywhere. Your call, man.

I think your opinion is as good as any... if I start erasing them, I am already violating your right for free speech... so I think it stays. It's up to the readers whether they agree or not. I admire that you feel strongly about this... (not that I agree or disagree with about anything)
