Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Chuck Norris and Scott Adkins. According to the official website of studio Millennium Films, these are the actors confirmed to appear in "The Expendables 2", a sequel to 2010's Box-Office hit that reunited the greatest action stars of the 80's and 90's, directed by Simon West ("Con Air"), replacing Stallone, who decided to keep only actor duties in the follow-up.

The movie will be shot in Bulgaria and China, and, according to Bulgarian studio Nu Boyana, that is also producing, will follow the Expendables confronting another team of mercenaries, led by Van Damme's character. Adkins will be one of his men. Norris will have a cameo, similar to Willis' and Schwarzenegger's in the first movie, whereas the two actors - especially Willis, who plays the corrupt CIA operative Mr. Church - will have bigger roles. Li, who apparently did not want to return to the role of Expendable Yin Yang, will only participate of the China filming, while most of the cast will also appear in Bulgaria.

Schwarzenegger's co-star on James Cameron's "True Lies", Tom Arnold, has also apparently received an offer to appear in the movie. Other actor from the original movie expected to return is Steve Austin, who played the hitman Don Paine, who died in the original movie. According to rumors, he'd play Paine's twin brother who wants revenge against Stallone's character.

Other actors rumored to be be contenders for roles in the movie are Donnie Yen, Nicolas Cage, Christopher Lambert, Christian Slate, John Travolta, Tom Sizemore, Hulk Hogan, Mr. T, Carl Weathers, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Charlie Sheen, Lorenzo Lamas, Jeff Speakman, Olivier Gruner, Ryan Seacrest and Taylor Lautner. Actress Tamara Ecclestone has also been linked to the part, possibly in the role of Mickey Rourke's character's daughter, named Fiona.

According to Stallone, the movie will be "a love letter to martial arts movies" and explore more the other members of the team. He also confirmed a fight scene between Lundgren and Van Damme.

"The Expendables 2" will be released on August 17, 2012.

Never mind just found it, how reliable is Millennium Films because Stallone publicly said that plot description it has (which was the same one from a couple months back) is in fact fake.

Wouldn't mind Vin Deasel, Dwayne Johnson, or Charlie Sheen (as long as he has the crazy attitude) in it.
Sounds awesome!

tricklove187 - 9/3/2011, 12:02 PM
@Fishandchips - this is why, "Other actor from the original movie expected to return is Steve Austin, who played the hitman Don Paine, who died in the original movie."
Jer3miah - 9/3/2011, 12:10 PM
Scott Adkins? Wow... but not Michael Jai White? Wow, so they only have one 'affirmative action" cast member in the form of Chews, huh? And this ain't supposed to be a smack in the face? Yawn. Tsk, tsk, hollywood. Buncha honkeys.

Jet Li was a pain in the ass to work with on the first film
DeathGambit - 9/7/2011, 11:40 AM
damn they couldn't get rid of terry crews, that guy did not have good scene at all, everyone else had bad ass fight scenes and this guy shows up with a gun at the end. bring in Michael Jai White for is replacement.
rottencotten - 9/10/2011, 11:55 AM
This is sounding more epic then the first one!!..Stallone vs Van Damme...[frick] yeah!!..Chuck Norris is going to have a cameo...oh hell yeah!!..and Willis and Schwarzenegger have bigger parts, genius!!..I agree with most that Jackie Chan should be in this too, maybe have him play a bad guy for once, give Jet Li an opponent...As far as the rumored cast members I really wouldn't mind seeing Hulk Hogan in this movie...but one who isn't on the list that I would like to see in this is Steven Segal...
EarOne - 10/8/2011, 4:48 AM
Travolta would be better the third time around as the main baddie.

Nic Cage would be an AWESOME addition.

Donnie Yen is an ABSOLUTE must. too bad jet li would only have a small part in this..i guess yin yang DOES want more money. i hope his character is killed by donnie's that will fuel sly and his team to take revenge. but, if Li's out, there should be another martial arts icon other than donnie, though... How about Michelle Yeoh as a part of Sly's team, if Donnie's character's a villain. a badass female action star joining the party would be cool.

The Rock should also be in the third movie, since he's just done this sort of walk-in vehicle in another ensemble action franchise, in Fast 5.

Vin sounds cool, but, he'll make the room TOO CROWDED.

i hope Don Johnson would also join, in the third installment, and settle some ol' scores with his Harley Davidson and Marlboro Man co-star, Mickey Rourke.

Carl Weathers joining would be cool, having co-starred with both Sly & Arnie, in previous movies. but, i DEFINITELY want Mr. T in this one. he shoulda played Terry's role, in the first place. actually...it'd be cool, if Sly writes Mr. T's character as a father and son combo, either on his or Van Damme's team, and cast T's big screen replacement as the new B.A. Barracus, that Rampage dude (forgot his full name).

Lorenzo Lamas could make a cool fight scene, pit against another mullet-haired action star, Christopher Lambert.

but, i'm still hoping Sly would cast MEL "mad max" GIBSON in this franchise.
