First Glimpse Of The Green Hornet In Costume

Splashnews have an exclusive vid featuring some on-set stunts and this first look at The Green Hornet costume. The vid won't embed for some reason, but here's a pic.

I think that's probably Seth Rogen's stunt double..but anyway, pretty average eh?

Michel Gondry is directing the film scheduled for a December 2010 release. And the screenplay is by Rogen and his old writing buddy Evan Goldberg. Jay Chou plays Kato, the Hornet's butler and chauffeur. Cameron Diaz plays a love interest. Christoph Waltz plays a villain. And Edward James Olmos plays a newspaper reporter trying to unmask the Hornet.

damn rogen!
InFamouslyCool - 9/30/2009, 7:05 PM
@ venkman- Have you seen Ray?
StrangemannX09 - 9/30/2009, 7:09 PM
Wait for the movie to come out... then hate it afterwards(if it deserves it).
access - 9/30/2009, 7:10 PM
is that a stunt double, I can't tell. Either way if that's what the double looks like you have to think that rogan would be just about the same.
thwhtGuardian - 9/30/2009, 7:18 PM
why is everyone so sure that this movie will suck!?
joshw24 - 9/30/2009, 7:24 PM
HEY JUST AWHILE AGO I MADE AN ARTICLE ABOUT THIS FIRST!!!and now its not here :(
rockingrich1webb - 9/30/2009, 7:27 PM
Josh, I think its because Rogen is involved, but they are forgetting Godry is directing..or maybe they're not! I like his movies anyway.

Rockingrich, the vid didn't embed in your article dude, sorry. I think its a dud. So I just put up a still shot instead.
Rorschach01 - 9/30/2009, 7:32 PM
oh no wonder heh heh sorry
rockingrich1webb - 9/30/2009, 7:35 PM
you all can hate on this.
But the costume is good.close to the original.
And I think Seth wont let us down.
I mean....he seems fully committed to it.
My Hopes are high.
FilmGuy91 - 9/30/2009, 7:42 PM
ill wait and see how it is before i judge it. this is clearly the stunt double though
superdog - 9/30/2009, 7:51 PM
I miss fat seth rogen :(
TellyAddict - 9/30/2009, 7:55 PM
WATCH THIS MOVIE ACTUALLY BE GOOD..LOL
GUNSMITH - 9/30/2009, 8:00 PM
TellyAddict@You and us all. :(
InSpace - 9/30/2009, 8:07 PM
I think Bruce lee is still on peoples minds. If they had Jet Li in it I'm sure everyone would be going crazy right now about how great the movie is going to be. With Rogen it just feels like the whole movie is a joke, and your not going to get the serious ass kicking you want.
StrangemannX09 - 9/30/2009, 8:37 PM
We won't get the serious ass kicking till kick ass.

That's definitely not rogen
supermarioworldE - 9/30/2009, 9:01 PM
Maybe you guys were watching a different show, or maybe the comics had some awesome action...but the show I remember seeing looked exactly like the adam west batman the action was pretty tame, it didn't have the bams and pows but it was still kinda lame. Even the radio dramas I've heard weren't that great compared to the shadow or batman so I don't see how making an overly campy pulp hero into a comedy action film like the Mask is a bad thing, if that's even the rout thy are taking. Who knows maybe rogan is actually serious about this role, only time can tell.
thwhtGuardian - 9/30/2009, 9:02 PM
@Ror what the [frick] man i posted this first i liked you no homo you always have somthing good 2 say but this shit you pulled is a [frick]ingv HACK MOVE what gives??dont try and take my shine
Swiftsword777 - 9/30/2009, 9:33 PM

Swiftsword777 - 9/30/2009, 9:38 PM
@Strangemann

I haven't seen him all day. Did you check the book store?
venkman9993592 - 9/30/2009, 9:42 PM
bruce lee is what made the show so good! Jet Li is the man, of course but bruce lee was first and opened the doors for others to come.

Seth is going to make this all wrong. The feel is all wrong. I like him... just not for this project.
KeepItReal - 9/30/2009, 9:50 PM
swiftsword@ wow
superdog - 9/30/2009, 9:50 PM
you guys are all nuts.. this has a known comedy star playing the role, i understand that, but any pics ive seen, and his whole KATO issue before proves this isnt a joke to him and its not just aobut comedy, stop hating and appreciate the loyalty he's shown so far... looks pretty cool to me
fotc - 9/30/2009, 10:13 PM
swiftsword-- haha
Betty - 9/30/2009, 10:15 PM
Everybody that is so sure that this movie will either suck or be awesome I have just one thing to say to you: STOP trying to make predictions! You can't possibly know how the movie will be before it comes out. I mean, ITS STILL BEING MADE!
necrosage2005 - 9/30/2009, 10:54 PM
necrosage: you're right. We cant know for sure it will suck. It just seems to have alot of negatives attached to it already. Not that Seth is a bad or neg person. My thing is he is known for comedy. Now he is going to do something serious. I will be forever waiting for him to crack a joke or smirk or something. Its like Anthony Anderson. Guy is hilarious. Makes me crack up each time. Then he got the role for that tv show about Hurricane Katrina and the tragedies of New Orleans. I could not take his character seriously. I couldnt see his character and he wsnt convincing in the slightest. I kept waiting for him to scream or squel or do a jackie leggs thing. I thought the show had great potential but was miscasted with him and so it kept taking me out of the story. Thats how I feel it might be with Seth Rogan. I dont mean to be this way and course, I dont wish him bad or anything.
KeepItReal - 9/30/2009, 11:10 PM
I seem to recall a movie being made one time many years ago that was about a superhero who came out at night and they announced it was going to star a comedic actor and everybody said, "Huh! How can a comedian play a serious character like HIM, that's ridiculous!!! And the name of the movie was BATMAN and the comedy star was MICHAEL KEATON!
DDD - 10/1/2009, 12:46 AM
DDD: And it was terrible!
slimybug - 10/1/2009, 1:23 AM
Meh.
gtrman - 10/1/2009, 1:24 AM
DDD@ dont worry ive never considered Rogen a comedien..lol

Didnt the original costume have a hankercheif mask with a hornet on it ???
teabag - 10/1/2009, 5:46 AM
Swiftsword, calm the [frick] down man! Jesus. You posted a link to another site showing the vid! You didn't even bother trying to embed it which Rockingrich did only it didn't take. Is he bitching like a lunatic over it? His article was up before yours. The embed does not take so i posted a still shot. But if you so worried about having your "shine" stolen...

EVERYONE, SWIFT POSTED THIS UP ABOUT 2 SECONDS BEFORE ME WITH A NON CLICKABLE LINK TO ANOTHER SITE. hE IOS THE MASTER OF THIS ARTICLE, HIS SHINE IS IN TACT.
Rorschach01 - 10/1/2009, 5:54 AM
why does he look so skinny?
spanky - 10/1/2009, 5:56 AM
Man, thats pretty cool, minus the trench coat!! (He better have one lol).

Atleast they hav'nt done a [frick]ing SyFy PHANTOM on us lol!

LEEE777 - 10/1/2009, 6:11 AM

superdog - 10/1/2009, 7:34 AM
i got no beef with rogen, and i really dont rember the green hornet show to much i was real young when they still aired it on tv but ill give the movie a shot
jimthefan - 10/1/2009, 7:53 AM
@Rorschach01 sorry dude i went a little over the top,my bad
Swiftsword777 - 10/1/2009, 7:56 AM
Haha....this made me laugh.

I am still as of yet not impressed with GH. We'll see.
Bamf7 - 10/1/2009, 8:02 AM
DDD @ Ive said that too dude!!! ; )

KEATON great BATMAN!

I have no doubt ROGEN can make GH very good!
LEEE777 - 10/1/2009, 8:31 AM
they're still making this? nice costume, if looks like prom apparell
NotU - 10/1/2009, 8:42 AM
The costume looks good. I have a few of the old NOW GH comics and it is pretty spot to what it looked like in those books. People, you've got to remember that the Green Hornet is just a regular guy in a green suit with a mask and a gun, so it's not supposed to look overly superheroic.
MatchesMalone - 10/1/2009, 9:24 AM
KeepItReal, what are the negatives, in your opinion? I've seen and heard a lot of negative remarks for just about every CBM made by people. After they were seen some weren't all that good, but there were others that rocked! Weren't people saying that The Dark Knight was going to suck because it had Heath Ledger in it? How about Iron Man with Robert Downy Jr.? I bet that if you look through old posts on here and over the rest of the net that you will find lots of people that had to eat their words. My point is that we are seeing things out of context and some people are insisting that they know it will be either one way or the other. Take a valium, or something else to calm you down and relax!
necrosage2005 - 10/1/2009, 9:27 AM
Heath and RDJ are great actors and i dont really remember anyone being that outraged by them...Rogen is a guy living off of one character type.....il keep my negativity thank you ..lol :P
teabag - 10/1/2009, 9:49 AM
teabag, you say that NOW, but I remember more than just one person making stupid jokes about The Joker being a gay cowboy and RDJ a drunk that has no acting ability, maybe it wasn't YOU, specifically, but there were quite a few people on here that were.
necrosage2005 - 10/1/2009, 10:21 AM
Wasnt me... but i still think Heath is a gay cowboy and RDJ is a drunk...differance is to me that they were versatile as actors where i find Rogen is not :P
teabag - 10/1/2009, 10:33 AM
gay cowboys are cool
superdog - 10/1/2009, 10:39 AM
So are drunks :P
teabag - 10/1/2009, 10:54 AM
necrosage: " Take a valium, or something else to calm you down and relax!"

take a valium? take a valium! TAKE A VALIUM?!!! nah, im good thanks. you? I got vicodin myself.

So seriously, im not entitled to my opinion? seriously, you have never seen a movie and said "Im not going to see that, it looks like crap!" never? and then turns out it was true the movie was crap. lol! we all do it at one time or another. I didnt have to waste my money on pluto nash with eddie murphy to know it was crap. or herbert or twilight or jennifers body or punisher 2. you just know sometimes.

with seth i like him I do. if he turns out to make this a good movie excellent. prove me wrong and it will make me love him that much more but you cant blame me for having my reservations. you cant blame me if i loved watching the show, however young i was, and not wanting it to get messed up. you even have nic cage, who will do any movie just about like sam jackson, and he turned it down over creative differences. he is a big comic book fan it seems and if he turned it down so what is that saying? that maybe seth is not sticking to the source. nic says he cant be a bad guy who kills all willy nilly. so it doesnt have a good story? i dont know. im just saying and am entitled to say i have my doubts. =P
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 11:41 AM
KEEPITREAL-

Yea but you have to admit, when you usually make those kind of judgements (i.e. "Im not going to see that, it looks like crap!"), it's usually AFTER you have seen some kind of promotional material for the film!!!

I mean Jeez, let them release a bad trailer first, I'd be right there with you guys; but there is nothing for this film yet......nothing, and it garners so much hate.

I really don't understand it either.
Talontd - 10/1/2009, 12:12 PM
TALONTED!!!! dude! i been looking for you! how are ya? I was wanting to tell you i saw the movie Rock n Rolla. I didnt like it much, im sorry. I saw it with a open heart and open mind. I liked some parts... great cast but the story was only ehhh for me. Snatch is by far my absolute favorite. =)

yeah you're right. its usually after you seen some promotional marketing. But im not hating, i dont think. I just have my doubts. I want it to be good. Im hoping to be proven wrong. I like Seth. But its like taking a test. You know the material but you dont know what questions they're going to ask or in what format, so you worry.

so how you been sweetie? =)
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 12:24 PM
KeepItReal, I've never put down a movie WHILE IT WAS STILL BEING MADE. I at the very least wait to see a trailer before I make up my mind if I want to see a movie. Before TDK came out I read a lot of people's posts that said that they didn't think that Heath could pull off the role because of the other movies that he had done. I'm not saying that you can't have an opinion. But is it really fair to judge an entire movie by only having seen a handfull of pictures of STUNT DOUBLES? Sean Connery, Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, David Duchovny, Samuel Jackson, Val Kilmer, Lou Diamond Phillips, Gary Oldman, Brad Pitt, Jean Reno, and Will Smith all turned down roles for The Matrix, does that mean that the first one was a bad movie? http://www.notstarring.com/movies/matrix Part of acting is taking on new roles that will make you grow. Isn't that want Robin Williams and a host of other actors and actresses have been doing for many years? Williams has been known not only for his comedy, but also for some pretty serious stuff, too. That doesn't mean that he isn't beliveable in both.
necrosage2005 - 10/1/2009, 12:32 PM
yes necro... you're right.. =) i will hope for the best! =) i still worry... but will think postive.

Sean Connery turned down the role of the matrix? he's old! haha... i would have turned it down too were i him!!! are serious about them others?... I knew Will Smith turned it down but the others....hmmmm...
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 12:43 PM
robin williams is damn scary in some of his serious stuff
thwhtGuardian - 10/1/2009, 1:23 PM
KeepItReal, I always hope for the best, too. Sometimes I'm dissappointed, but with CBM's being popular right now I'm always looking for the next good one.

Accordring to what I see listed on http://www.notstarring.com/movies/matrix there are a lot of roles turned down for various reasons. Some, like Connery, "was originally offered the role of Morpheus. He turned down the role saying he couldn't understand the script. Years later, he said that he chose to do 'the League of Extraordinary Gentleman' (despite not understanding the project) because he regretted turning both 'The Matrix' and 'Lord of the Rings' down." Now could you really see anybody other than Sir Ian McKellen playing Gandalf?

My point is: don't judge an entire movie until you see something official that they were actually proud enough to put their names on. If you'd have seen a STUNT PERSON in costume for TDK, would you have said that the movie was going to suck? How could you possibly know that? Its just one pic of a guy that isn't even the star.
necrosage2005 - 10/1/2009, 1:26 PM
KEEPITREAL-

Hey sweetheart! Been good, lovin Sunny San Diego! How bout u? Sorry to hear you weren't into Rock 'n' Rolla as much as i. I'm still looking for ROR's "set pieces that fly in from no where" ;-) I actually heard they are making a sequel, which i'm amped for.

Have you seen Rogen's "Observe & Report"??....if you haven't.....DON'T GET HIGH 1ST!!! Man that movie is nuts, your laughin away then all of a sudden it becomes crazy VIOLENT!

I'm glad your gonna give this flick a chance, it seems like he's takin it really serious.

BTW- I've already decided that THE LAST AIRBENDER will be EPIC!
Talontd - 10/1/2009, 1:46 PM
This could turn out to be good. Tom Hanks was once a funny joke man and turned into a serious actor. Mabey that is the path Seth is taking. After this he just has to play a dumb shrimper, astronaut then fight in WW2. Then eventually be a washed up flake and call it a career. Nice job!

Number21 - 10/1/2009, 4:52 PM
@thwhtknight: One Hour Photo, dude! He's awesome in that movie.
Velox - 10/1/2009, 5:20 PM
talonted: observe and report? I had it in my hands and i put it back! damn!! I should have got it! I will this weekend for sure. =)

Rock n Rolla... had its moments... Gerard BUtler... **sigh** =)

I truely do want this movie to be good. I do hear alot that he is taking this very serious. Who knows, maybe our negativity inspires him to make it really, really good to prove us wrong and so he has us to thank for! haha! reaching huh?! j/k I hope it does do well though. For us the fans and for him too cuz he seems as though he really wants to prove he can. =)

Oh yeah! The last Airbender!! Cant wait either to see it. So you already decided eh...lol...
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 6:11 PM
necrosage: Really, Sean Connery was offered the role of Morpheous?! Well, as much as I adore him I am glad Lawrence Fishbourne got the part! I feel he did EXCELLANT role playing him. He is also one of my favorites too for sure.

"Now could you really see anybody other than Sir Ian McKellen playing Gandalf?" no I can not. =)

KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 9:32 PM
it looks classic. I like it.
TaffetaDarling - 10/1/2009, 10:07 PM
I can't believe they are making this...
Jimdlux - 10/1/2009, 10:17 PM
Any moment now, Chris Crocker is going to release a video where's he's yelling at us to "LEAVE SETH ALONE!!!!"
Velox - 10/1/2009, 10:42 PM
velox: "Any moment now, Chris Crocker is going to release a video where's he's yelling at us to "LEAVE SETH ALONE!!!!"
