First Look At Chris Evans On The Captain America TFA Set

After countless set construction pics we finally got our first glimpse at some cast members yesterday with Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter. Now we have the first shots of Cap himself, Chris Evans, on set. And fans can rest easy, he's blonde(ish:)

Here we have the first shots of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers on the Captain America TFA set in Liverpool. This scene appears to be a continuation of the shots from yesterday showing Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter shooting after a car. I would assume that the pic with Evans and Atwell on the ground depicts Rogers tackling her out of the way of another car intent on running her over. Just a guess of course.

We haven't seen anything from Evans aside from concept art since he was announced as being cast in the role and some fans were concerned about his appearance. Well as you can see he is sporting Roger's trademark blonde(albeit not peroxide!) locks and has also bulked up considerably.

Because of the obvious tightness of the T-Shirt and the short capri-style pants that Chris is wearing, CBMers are already speculating that this scene is in the aftermath of "Project Rebirth" where a skinny Steve Rogers "hulks out", gaining musculature that makes him into the peak of human physical perfection.

Thanks to CBM'er Starsaphire, we also have this set vid showing Evans chasing a car. I guess that explains those weird feet cover things!

Excellent find Ror! He has bulked up quite a bit and gone blonde.

Wow, he looks great! Can't wait to see him in the suit. I had all the confidence in the world that he was going to go blond(er) for Captain America. They really got the hairstyle down as well.

Hawks@ I think he has somekind of fake skin on them so that he doesnt hurt his feets when he is running in the streets?!... Little bit weird yes!:D

But why he has those shorts?!... Doesnt look very ´40s

@Hawks- I think he's probably wearing "false feet" kind of like the Hobbits in LOTR. More than likely they are still filming the scene where he runs after Erskine's assassin. It's probably so he won't hurt his feet while he's running at top speed.

Alex: If this is indeed the scene where he has just taken the SS serum and is running after Erskines killers the short pants could be due to his growth. It would also explain why he is barefoot.

HOLY CRAP THEY DID IT. THEY MADE HIM LOOK LIKE STEVE ROGERS! FANTASTIC!

Look at those arms! And his neck is finally thicker than his head! The hair is perfect! This is GREAT!

And the hair looks good.....but....where are the helmets :P

The guy really gained some muscle since Fantastic 4. I'll admit I was skeptical at first of Evans as Cap, but I've since been impressed by the commitment he's put in thus far.

Still knew he wouldn't go blonde, couldn't even do it for the HUMAN TORCH!

At least he buffed up for the role!

I noticed a lot of people saying he needs to be bigger. Cap is suppose to have the perfect body. I don't think that means Hulk like big, but more like a gymnast body.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE HAIR THEY GAVE HIM!!! Now THAT'S brilliant and accurate adaptation film making!!! Not like an ancient greek setting with a leading role that has a buzz cut!!! Like there were clippers back then or better yet, as if greeks shaved their heads in that era! COME ON!!!

Presumably they're going to do a Benjamin Button on him, making him extremely short and skinny pre-experiment. This would explain his pants being too short and tight for a man in that era.

He is plenty big for the part. Cap has not been depicted as a huge, bulky man until recently. Look back at Neal Adams, John Byrne's or Perez's art on Cap. While he is built, he is not huge. Evans has a great build for Rogers.

holy crap. what a transformation a wig can make..personally I think he looks just like steve rogers . and he really has piled on the beef .perfect cap body..now i cant wait for this movie. It looks so authentic..
