Will Wolverine Cameo In X-Men: First Class?

Could be coincidence, but apparently Hugh Jackman was in Georgia this weekend, where Matthew Vaughn's X prequel was filming on Jekyl Island..

This isn't too much to go on, but apparently a taxi driver in Georgia drove Hugh Jackman to a film set on Jekyl Island over the weekend. Here is the dude's FB status..

I drove Hugh Jackman from X-Men To the Airport this morning. They are filming on Jekyll...Cool guy!

Said island is where X-Men: First Class is currently shooting. Now I know we only have one FB status update to go on here, but I would call that either a pretty big coincidence, OR Wolverine is set for some type of cameo in Matthew Vaughn's prequel. Many have speculated about the possibility before now anyway. Hugh Jackman has appeared as Wolverine in every one of Fox's X movies so far, and Fox may feel that many fans will expect an appearance. Given their track record of spurious mutant cameos in previous movies its not something that can be ruled out.

Anyway, until we have more info, like I said its not really much to go on. But If he is set to make an appearance, how do you guys think he could be worked into the story? Confirm or debunk below.

Knowing Fox, it'll be every other character apart from Wolverine that feels like they're having a cameo - that's pretty much how the other three films were, lol! :P Good stuff ROR!

I want to like this movie but if he has a cameo I'm not gonna be happy. I mean I like Hugh/Wolverine but this movie seems odd enough already.

more than lightly,fox thinks the whole x-universe revolves around wolverine.

his probably the most popular mutant ever,but the x-men are a team not one charactor.

Hm, early 60's? I think that's still pre-Weapon Plus.

I'd say he'll probably show up as a soldier on a military base.

Zeroo, why is it "probably not true"? Surely there is more chance of this dude being on the level than just posting that he cabbed Jackman about for shits and giggles? Also, who would he be visiting on set? Non of the actors involved in First Class have worked with him in the previous movies.

Don't know much about the Japan Saga, but as Guason has informed me, Wolverine 2 should take place after X-men 3.

@Guason... are you high? Wolverine 2 is all about Logan trying to remember... who or what he is... he goes to japan thinking that he might find out who he is...

Logan didn't know about the x-men in X-men 1, but maybe he did in Origins: Wolverine, but he lost his memory
so a cameo is indeed possible in First Class

I think you have a point there...The bar scene post credits XMO: W did have hime "drinking to remember". I really doubt this is a scene aftr X3 cuz he seemed to have accepted not knwing much bout his past & was willing to move on (with the X-men).
Concerning Wolverine's supposed First Class cameo, is it just me or does anyone else think that conversations between Prof X, Magneto & Wolverine (mainly in X1 & X2)seem to hint that they've all met prior to X-men 1?

If that isn't the stupidest, dumbest, boner move I've ever heard. I like the character and all, but he doesn't have to be in ever damn X-film!!! Come on Fox....you could at least spare us this...please!?

He says' he's never seen anytihng like that before -- about the adamantium skeleton, which Wolverine wouldn't have until well after that point.

And

@megabatfan - Yes. The Magneto/Xavier conversations did suggest that they'd met Logan before his memory wipe. I beleive the line was "You haven't told him anything about his past, have you?"

who cares its gonna be a crap film anyway. Just wish Fox would leave X-Men and FF long enough so Marvel can get them back.

Could be a cool little cameo. Always fun to see a small world and to see theses characters interact before they actually knew each other. Maybe he's a soldier and meets a young Magneto and Professor X.

Could be cool, I like Wolverine and a small cameo would be cool. I'm still excitted for this movie because I like the crew involved and I loved the first 2 X-men movies.

Ii can't be exited about this film when the continuity seems so messed up. Actually I'm scared. Probably have to w8 til it comes out b4 i can feel comfortable about wat the heck's goin on in this movie

Is First Class the beginning of a trilogy or is it a stand alone film? Also, Wolverine 2 is set before X-men 1, he falls in love with Yuriko (aka Lady Deathstrike) and has the silver samurai as the villian. I can also see the X-man Sunfire making a cameo as well as Spiral.

Please not a trilogy...I can probably tolerate one sequel which better have Cyclops, Jean, Beast, Storm goin up against probably the first formed brotherhood. But that's it. I rather a sequel to X3 with Sinister or a storyline leading up to Apocalypse.

damn did everyone forget the fact that wolverine helped the x-men escape and afterwards had the confrontation with William Stryker and he was shot in the head. that's when he lost his memory so the whole escape thing is 1 of the things he doesn't know about. so i don't think that there will be a cameo

See how this movie just frigs with everything already established. We're all here trying to establish the proper timeline. If this movie made any sense it would be clear to see & there wouldn't need to be a debate on which event happens before the other...DAMNIT i'm frustrated!!!

huh. I live on jekyll island and have been helping as a production assistant in setting everything up and I will also be a extra once they begin filming. No actual filming has started yet. Its set to begin next friday..also I know for a fact there is supposed to be a scene with a plane explosion/crash. I havnt seen hugh jackman or any actor/actress yet.

Once I see something worthy of taking a picture..believe I will post it here asap

Well First Class can't be a movie by itself because they've said that it ties in to the other movies in the X-franchise. The only movie they haven't mentioned in terms of First Class being a prequel is Wolverine Origins as far as i know. So probably Wolverine Origins should be considered a movie by itself. But then again, Prof X had the function of his feet in the flashback scene in X3. See what I mean?

Maybe Hugh was going to the set just to check it out. Seems like actors/directors have been doing that with Marvel movies.

But I guess chances are that he was there to do some filming.

Everyone's only saying Wolverine is set before First Class, just so they'll have a reason to bitch about Cyclops not being in First Class, so they can pretend it doesn't make sense. And for Wolverine 2, none of us have seen it but "would it be a direct sequel to the Origins prequel or a follow up to X-Men 3?

It would be a sequel to Origins, confirmed Jackman."

Awesome, the comics always showed that they were all interconnected even before they all met. Also Jackman is making it tough for anyone to replace him someday. He could go on for a while, imagine an older Jackman Wolverine appearing in a possible future Cable/Apocalypse movie set in the future during the clone wars.

You all don't get what Guason tries to point out. Wolverine 2 will be based on the run of Frank Miller and Chris Claremont and Jackman said it himself that sequel will be close to its source material.

"According to Lauren Schuler-Donner, the sequel will focus on the relationship between Wolverine and Mariko, the daughter of a Japanese crime lord, and what happens to him in Japan."

and here's a little brief about Mariko to point out that it's after X3.

"She first met the X-Men when they returned from a sojourn in the Savage Land and were asked to help Japan, which was being blackmailed by the terrorist Moses Magnum. She became close to Wolverine and eventually his fiancée."

...so obviously, Wolverine was already an X-men. And about the post credit bar scene in XMOW, didn't it occur to your mind that it could be the present day(after X3)?
