POLL: Which X-Men Character Has Been Represented Best Onscreen?

We have seen some great actors give life to our favorite X-Men characters over the course of 5 movies from Fox, and some not so great. But who stands out to you as delivering the best interpretation of the character they played?

We all want to see our favorite comic characters done justice to. And imo more often than not they are, even if the movie around them isn't up to scratch. The X-Men have long been considered the most popular team in Marvel history and I think a lot of fine actors have done great jobs in bringing them to the screen. That's not to say there haven't been a few duds too of course. But who stands out in your mind as being the best?

There are a few factors you might consider when deciding. Obviously the actors overall performance is important but was the character represented as well as it could be when taking the comics into account? Some leeway is always needed when adapting anything for the screen but who maintained the essence of the original character best to you?

Now obviously I haven't covered EVERY character that has appeared in these movies. For example I don't think anyone would argue that the likes of Brian Cox as William Stryker was a good interpretation of that character, or others that barely say a single word like Riptide, Lady Deathstrike or Colossus etc. Still I may have missed out on someone so be sure to let me know in the comments section.

Prof X. Hands down.
Joker08 - 8/11/2011, 6:13 AM
Nightcrawler. Alan Cummings WAS Kurt Wagner.
CorndogBurglar - 8/11/2011, 6:17 AM
I can't believe the race hasn't been closer. the ONLY other person on that list that should even be considered other than Prof X is Beast.
CorndogBurglar - 8/11/2011, 6:17 AM
someone voted for storm...
ROMACK - 8/11/2011, 6:17 AM
@Intruder No Doubt. It was almost as if he was pulled from the pages of Uncanny XMen.
Dravenport - 8/11/2011, 6:19 AM
Kevin Bacon as Shaw
thalidomide - 8/11/2011, 6:22 AM
1. Patrick Stewart - Prof X
2. Hugh Jackman - Wolverine
3. Alan Cummings - Nightcrawler
4. Michael Fassbender - Eric Lensherr

despite Hugh's height he did a pretty awesome job portraying Wolverine
marvel72 - 8/11/2011, 6:25 AM
professor x,how the f*ck is wolverine even being voted for ? his 5ft 4inchs in the comics & is hard as nails.
Dickel - 8/11/2011, 6:27 AM
What about the actor who played Beast in FC?
He did a solid job, yet he's not even on the list!

I'd say have to say Liev Schreiber as Victor Creed was a good call, he was easily the best thing about wolverine origins.
Dickel - 8/11/2011, 6:28 AM
and then the obvious ones.. Hugh, FC=magneto/xavier
Shellac - 8/11/2011, 6:30 AM
Alan Cummings as Nightcrawler was awesome. I also enjoyed Michael Fassbender as Magneto/Eric.
RorMachine - 8/11/2011, 6:31 AM
Interpretation isn't just physical. I thought Jackman made a great movie Wolverine, but yeah no arguing with Stewart. My vote went to Fassbender though.
RorMachine - 8/11/2011, 6:32 AM
Dammit, I knew i'd forget someone..yeas Nicolas Holt should be on there. Pretend he is!:)
Greengo - 8/11/2011, 6:32 AM
Patrick Stewart as Prof. X.
Hugh Jackman has always been too tall and lanky to be a proper Wolvie. He's got the rage part down though but that's about it.
ElBicho - 8/11/2011, 6:32 AM
Where's the Liev Schreiber love? That dude was awesome.
mavrekmcee - 8/11/2011, 6:33 AM
Nightcrawler, Proffesor X and Cyclops.
Ethic - 8/11/2011, 6:33 AM
Stewart as Prof X is by far the best!

I knew Jackman as Wolverine would be in the lead because people would pick him for being bad-ass.
Fact is though, he's a tame, tame Wolverine.
Nowhere near the conflicted animal that's in the animations and comics.
AlcoholicA - 8/11/2011, 6:34 AM
too many. other than his accent, Prof X nailed it. Nightcrawler was pretty close too. cyclops wasn't almost there, he just needed a little bit more Team Leader Douche-Baggery. Kelsey Grammar was pretty close as adult Beast as well.
Greengo - 8/11/2011, 6:34 AM
Wolverine: 5'3" 195lbs
Jackman: 6'3" 215lbs
Simonsonrules - 8/11/2011, 6:35 AM
People were advocating for Stewart as Xavier ever since Star Trek TNG debuted, since Stewart is the spitting image of that character. The role wasn't that difficult for him. Just show up, sit in a chair, and drop wisdom. Yeah, I'd put him first. But Cummings' Nightcrawler was amazing. In terms of the interpretation of the character, I'd vote for Cummings.

Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is a typical Hollywood maneuver. It's disappointing. And the disrespect to Cyclops was awful. James Marsden isn't even a bad actor; the part they gave to the character was just complete crap. What the hell happened to my Dark Phoenix saga in X-Men 3?

Drewsterville - 8/11/2011, 6:36 AM
if anybody votes for deadpool they should be put to death. My vote is for Beast
Greengo - 8/11/2011, 6:36 AM
Jack Nicholson from 'Wolf' would've been a better Wolverine.
Greengo - 8/11/2011, 6:37 AM
Somebody put a pic up of Jack Nicholson from the movie 'Wolf' Still haven't figured out how to do that yet.
talonn2001 - 8/11/2011, 6:38 AM
Patrick stewart, Micheal Faassenbender, Kelsey Grammer.
Fantine - 8/11/2011, 6:39 AM
I thought Mystique was played very well, as was Cyclops, an I loved Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.
ComicBookGoth - 8/11/2011, 6:40 AM
isn't it obvious

silverdog - 8/11/2011, 6:41 AM
patrick stewart and michael fassbender. everybody else was xmino (x-men in name only)
ThaMessenger07 - 8/11/2011, 6:47 AM
The obvious one is Alan Cummings as Nightcrawler. After him on this list I would Say Hugh Jackman but over all I fee ^^^^ Liev Schreiber was a nigh Perfect Sabretooth. Would love to see him do more as Victor Creed!

AlcoholicA - 8/11/2011, 6:47 AM
Jackman is entertaining, but not "source", which is what I believe we're voting on. And to add to my Nightcrawler comment, while he DID nail the soft sweet side of Kurt, he could have been a little more Swash-buckly.
Ethic - 8/11/2011, 6:54 AM
@GreengoIsMexicanforWhiteboy

I agree, he needs that savage edge

nuck82 - 8/11/2011, 6:54 AM
lol [frick]ing wolv fans, patrick stewart is prof x.

silly wolverine fans lol

Thanks Zero your awesome. I just attempted to post one and failed again Lol!
Greengo - 8/11/2011, 7:01 AM
Zero is my hero
THEHAWK - 8/11/2011, 7:01 AM
That is an easy question.

Xavier and Magneto have been represented the best on screen so far.

Both versions of them managed to capture their strengths and weaknesses.
Danton - 8/11/2011, 7:14 AM
Were is the "Any of them" option.
Greengo - 8/11/2011, 7:19 AM
Ummmm... I dunno bout that TEA, maybe the 1900's version, a 'younger' Wolie.
Greengo - 8/11/2011, 7:20 AM
LOL @Intruder
AlcoholicA - 8/11/2011, 7:21 AM
@ Tea

Anyone from any time? Hands down, Glenn Danzig from Danzig/Samhain/MIsfits from the early 90's. No acting required, he was super buff, super short, super violent, already comicbook fan and reads Wolverine, and already had the Wolverine side burns.

AlcoholicA - 8/11/2011, 7:22 AM
Danzig talking about Wolverine....
