Yes, it seems the unkillable Wade Wilson will be taking a dirtnap in his 50th issue next February. No word yet as to just how serious this is (I mean lets face it, with this character anything is possible) but here is what we do know so far.

In February 2012’s DEADPOOL #50, the Merc With a Mouth finally finds a way to die, and with the help of writer Daniel Way and artist Carlo Barberi he’s ready to take it. Check back tomorrow for more information.

There you go, updates should be in tomorrow. Will he stay dead for more than a couple of months? I for one hope so! I like the character but I could do without seeing him for a while.

Anyways, the cover's really funny. Exactly what I'd imagine Deadpool to be like when dying.

Seeing as how the avatar for Death in the Marvel Universe is female-and Deadpool is a horn-dog-I wouldn't be surprised if Wade ends up throwing down with Thanos. You know,Death's 'boytoy'...

Even if he does die, the books will just follow him in Hell, or wherever he goes. He'll be back with the living within an issue or two.

Let's see...Johnny Storm's killed off, Thor's killed off, Hellboy's killed off, Ultimate Peter Parker's killed off, Sabretooth's coming back, and now Deadpool's killed off. All of those characters except for Hellboy are Marvel. Hm. No wonder DC has better quality comics, they decided to reset their comics to where new readers can follow the storyline, while Marvel's too busy killing off and bringing back their characters. And that's coming from someone who prefers Marvel's characters, movies and video games.

Oh, and I forgot Bucky Barnes too.
For those who were wondering, I'm just listing characters who've been killed off/brought back within the past year.

He won't be dead lon. He's got a movie coming up. He'll die and annoy the devil so much he gets kicked out of Hell and lives again (all in the same issue).

@Ror... i'm not sick of him. should be interesting. he'll die, but he is also in the new series "battle scars". i dont know if its the same universe (Marvel has so many now), but if it is, then he obviously wont stay dead. he'll die, come back in a few issues because he wont like being dead. its going to get boring real quick, and he'll want out.

I am not sick of deadpool seeing as how I don't read any comics with him in it. Only time I have seen him is in ultimate comics spider-man.

I wonder if we'll ever get to see a Deadpool movie...

Pehaps after Thor 3, and Captain America 3, and Avengers 3, and Nick Fury 2, and Doctor Strange 2...

Is the romance between Death and Deadpool still in continuity?

Deadpool's rise in popularity over the past couple years is quite interesting. Personally I still love the character (more so before he became popular), and we need to get him and Cable back again for another series, Cable and Deadpool was the shit!

But yes, the fact that Thanos cursed Deadpool with life, doesn't make sense that he will die, unless of course, Thanos decides to uncurse the curse, which I'm sure he could do. But yes, he won't be dead long.

@PaulRom yeah, I never believed in Johnnys death. No body, no death. As far as I'm concerned,he's just lost in the negative zone.

Wade will come back, sooner rather than later...

i give it a month before 1 of 2 things happens
1-they realize they made a HUGE mistake and rebirth him just like every other "dead" comic character
2-an angry mob of deadpool fans marches to marvel and breaks down the fourth wall
