Let's start with a doozy. In the final moments of the first Hellboy, the big red fella is charged with bringing the love of his life back from the dead. How does he do it? He whispers: "Hey, you on the other side. Let her go. Because for her I'll cross over, and then you'l be sorry." *sniff*

Next a real classic: that upside-down kiss between Spidey and MJ in Sam Raimi's first Spider-Man movie. It's pretty much become an iconic moment, endlessly parodied and referenced. But there is no denying how effective it is, and Kirsten Dunst's detractors need only take a look at her lovely n....eckline..

Can you read my mind? Ok so it might be a bit cheesy by today's standards but how could I not include this? It still works for me, but then everything about this movie still works for me. No embed for this one I'm afraid, so click on the image below..

This one might be more sexy than romantic, or you may find it borderline ridiculous! Either way Nite Owl and Silk Specter doing the no pants dance in Zack Snyder's Watchmen makes the list. This one is NSFW..

This moment from Tim Burton's Batman Returns may end with Bruce Wayne and Selena Kyle realizing that they are in fact enemies, but they definitely get a bit hot under their cowls first. They are both the only two to arrive at Max Shreck's costume party without costumes, and proceed to steam up the place with talk of eating Mistletoe and king size beds..

Next is a moment from Bryan Singer's X-Men 2. After narrowly escaping a nasty plane crash, Wolverine attempts to get closer to Jean Grey. She blows him off (mind out of the gutters!) of course, because she's married to that squarest of squares, Scott "Cyclops" Summers, but we know she wants ol Wolvie as much as he wants her..

Finally we have this scene from Captain America: TFA. This might edge the line between romance and tragedy but sometimes it's a fine one. Sure Cap may "die" at the end, but the conversation he has with Peggy Carter over the radio first is as romantic as it gets..

Now I may have left out one or two good ones, but I'm pretty sure that's most of the scenes that don't come across too cheesy or forced (Daredevil, Thor I'm looking your way). If you like any that aren't on the list be sure to click "other" and let us know in the comments section. Vote away!

4 words...

"I had a date"

Tear drops from my right eye!!!
ClaireLannister2016 - 2/14/2012, 4:46 PM
My vote goes to the "Between Rage and Serenity" scene from X men first class. That counts right?
Wildaniel - 2/14/2012, 4:48 PM
I hate to step on your...

CRASH BOOM KABLAM

lol.
cwatts22 - 2/14/2012, 4:49 PM
Love the CapAm end scene!
It reminded me a lot of the opening scene from Star Trek
LucasMend - 2/14/2012, 4:49 PM
It has to be either Spider-Man or Captain America too me. But the Captain America scene is really well written and truly beautiful, so my vote goes for it
BrotherStarkofMABMindz - 2/14/2012, 4:50 PM
@Wildaniel, I agree

That scene between Peggy and Steve was very moving. Then afterwards he wakes up and that line was just moving
Viltrumite - 2/14/2012, 4:54 PM
Definitely the scene from Cap. That and the "between rage and serenity" scene actually got me a bit misty eyed. That's the first time a superhero movie has done that to me since "Why do we fall, Master Bruce?" and "You think I want to escape from this? There is no -escape- from this."
THEHAWK - 2/14/2012, 4:54 PM
The scene from Cap, easily. Especially the post credits scene.

So we can show sex scenes on here now, bro?
marvel72 - 2/14/2012, 4:57 PM
i'd go for captain america or batman returns, the kiss from spider-man(not spider-man 2)is sexy not romantic.
nailbiter111 - 2/14/2012, 4:57 PM
None of the above. Where is the Watchmen, Comedian/Silk Spectre scene? That wasn't romantic? lol
RorMachine - 2/14/2012, 4:58 PM
Oh yeah, sorry..that Watchmen one is NSFW:)
CaptainObvious - 2/14/2012, 4:59 PM
The scene from Spider-Man. One of the most iconic scenes in all of CBMs.
WesleyGibson - 2/14/2012, 4:59 PM
I'm with Wildaniel on this one.
LucasMend - 2/14/2012, 5:02 PM
What's with the watchmen scene?, kids visit this site
TrekFan - 2/14/2012, 5:03 PM
the endig for Cap made me almost cry
TrekFan - 2/14/2012, 5:03 PM
ALMOST
TrekFan - 2/14/2012, 5:04 PM
@Lucaxmen yeah what is with that scene being here
CaptainObvious - 2/14/2012, 5:05 PM
Wildaniel - 2/14/2012, 5:05 PM
How about the scene in Transformers Dark Of The Moon where Sam goes into Chicago to save Carly? You know where Epps says no one is going in and Sam says "I am" then this part too..

Wildaniel - 2/14/2012, 5:11 PM

Just looking at these pictures makes me cry, lol.
sheebz - 2/14/2012, 5:17 PM
whoa, I kno we've had discussions about people getting butt hurt by pictures of scantilly clad chicks cuz kids come to this site but DAMN that was straight up booty call.....um...that wasn't romantic that was going to pleasure town.
RorMachine - 2/14/2012, 5:25 PM
Oooh, I knew I'd forget something..The Crow must have a few that qualify.
BIGBMH - 2/14/2012, 5:26 PM
I gotta give it to Cap and Peggy. The Spider-man and Superman scenes are iconic, but the scene itself from TFA is just a very nice end to a pretty well-told love story. It's more emotional and moving than most of the others.
nailbiter111 - 2/14/2012, 5:38 PM
Yeah The Crow has this really romantic orgy scene I believe. Guy has a smiley face shirt on so it's all good. lol
patriautism - 2/14/2012, 5:38 PM
Call me crazy but out of those choices I would have to say
3. Every sex scene in the original Conan
2. Captain America
1. Superman
nailbiter111 - 2/14/2012, 5:41 PM
TheDpool - 2/14/2012, 5:43 PM
im suprised the whole jane and Thor love stuff isnt up there the whole fact that Thor has came down a broken man and falls in love only to leave and be stuck where he wanted to be but realizing he's lost the thing he wanted most
SpiderBat209 - 2/14/2012, 5:48 PM
The Comedian/Silk Spectre 1 Rape scene! HANDS DOWN! lol jk XD

Hands Down: Batman Returns Bruce/Selina at the dance. :)
Godzillafart - 2/14/2012, 5:49 PM
Iron Man is the only CBM where I have ever felt real emotion between the actors. Not sure exactly what the scene is, but it involves Tony and Pepper.
Godzillafart - 2/14/2012, 5:50 PM
The Spider-Man scene is visually awesome, but did you really feel any emotion between the characters? I didn't.
RorMachine - 2/14/2012, 5:54 PM
Wellll, don't necessarily have to feel emotion for it to be deemed "romantic", in this context anyway. It was a fun, sexy scene. Iron Man and Pepper's relationship was believable but can you pick out an actual scene where anything sparked or culminated? The closest thing was that scene at the party but that was played for laughs as much as anything else.
RorMachine - 2/14/2012, 5:55 PM
Oh wait, is it the arc reactor scene where she unplugs him? Yeah that might have worked..
SuspenseSmith - 2/14/2012, 6:03 PM
Does this count?
SuspenseSmith - 2/14/2012, 6:07 PM
Or this... just kidding
Ironnick - 2/14/2012, 6:08 PM
Being a 16 year old male, I did think the watchmen sex scene was a bit much. This is a site kids go on.
RainbowRaider - 2/14/2012, 6:14 PM
There's no CBM with as much heart, purity, and emotional resonance as CA:TFA. When I saw it, girls were bawling and a few of the fellas probably had to hide their faces too. What's even better is that scene takes place after what basically amounts to a 10+ minute action sequence that spans several locations, including a brawl on the internal roof of a nosediving jumbo plane. Yup, awesome.
InFamouslyCool - 2/14/2012, 6:22 PM
Were those the best you could come up with?! wow.. Cap by far. That's a really sad list.
Godzillafart - 2/14/2012, 6:26 PM
@Ror: Yup. That was the scene.
RorMachine - 2/14/2012, 6:27 PM
Infamouslycool, Feel free to name some you think are better.

I find it crazy that some people are raising eyebrows about the sex scene. It's two people [frick]ing, the most natural thing in the world..and it's not that graphic. If this article featured one of the many scenes from Watchmen in which someone was tortured, mutilated or brutally murdered nobody would bat an eyelid. Such is the mad world we live in I guess. It says NSFW, don't click if you don't think your mature enough to see...shock horror...sexual intercourse!
MrReese - 2/14/2012, 6:30 PM
"Such is the mad world we live in I guess. It says NSFW, don't click if you don't think your mature enough to see...shock horror...sexual intercourse!"

LOL agreed

oh yea n Cap wins XD
Godzillafart - 2/14/2012, 6:31 PM
Ror called it. The best romantic scene was the scene from Iron Man when Pepper swapped out his arc reactor. The second best scene is the scene from the IM2 trailer where Pepper kisses the IM helmet and throws it out of the plane and Tony says "You complete me".

After that, you have to move to Superman...entirely because of the performance of Christopher Reeve.

The Spider-Man scene is visually great...but did anyone feel any romance between those two whiny twerps? No. Nobody did.
SuspenseSmith - 2/14/2012, 6:46 PM
The most romantic scene will be sometime before Gwen Stacy dies in Amazing Spider-Man 2 or 3...

I will cry...

But so far... I agree on Pepper Potts putting the reactor into Tony's chest.
RorMachine - 2/14/2012, 6:49 PM
Keep in mind I was going for romantic more than sad or moving/tragic here..that last Cap one just about qualified because of the context but it was more about love n sex and all that good stuff:) Out of these the one that got me was actually probably the Hellboy one! It's not the best movie on the list by far but man that was done well.
SuspenseSmith - 2/14/2012, 6:49 PM
Here we go... This is the most appropriate for my valentine's day.. :(

SuspenseSmith - 2/14/2012, 6:52 PM
Best quote ever was from Hellboy:

"I'd give my life for her, but she wants me to do the dishes."

ISleepNow - 2/14/2012, 6:54 PM
None of the above is romantic, This is romantic:

go to 20:00
SuspenseSmith - 2/14/2012, 6:55 PM
Or what about Thor's final scene? I like it:

"So Earth is lost to us..."

"No. There is always hope."

"Can you see her?"

"*chuckle* Yes."

"How is she?"

"She searches for you..."

SuspenseSmith - 2/14/2012, 6:56 PM
^^^ That's pretty damn romantic fellas. You know if she's a keeper if she searches across DIMENSIONS for you.
ISleepNow - 2/14/2012, 6:59 PM
you know, that's kinda what love is..
RorMachine - 2/14/2012, 7:03 PM
Nothing about the love story in Thor worked for me, I thought it was a bit forced. Maybe because Jane Foster's character existed solely to be the love interest, and I thought Portman was a bit weak too. Still really liked the movie, but that element was lost on me.
