So that was the IMAX trailer, we are still getting another, longer one later today so keep an eye out for that one too. But what's the verdict on this? Some fantastic new scenes, including the live and kicking (well, until the "Alien" bursts through) Space Jokey above. The version here isn't the best quality so click on the link below for a higher res one.

Ridley Scott, director of "Alien" and "Blade Runner," returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba and Logan Marshall-Green, Prometheus is set to hit theatres on June 8th, 2012.

RorMachine - 3/16/2012, 10:16 PM
Nah dude, that's the "Space Jokey" from the very first Alien..they found him fossilized with a hole in his chest
LucasMend - 3/16/2012, 10:19 PM
Woah, this was so intense and fantastic!
ThreeBigTacos - 3/16/2012, 10:24 PM
We need this in HQ!
OverlyManlyMan - 3/16/2012, 10:24 PM

JDUKE25 - 3/16/2012, 10:29 PM
Looks alright
DarthLaney - 3/16/2012, 10:36 PM
That was a complete jumble of vision, I hope they actually release something that let's you actuall hook into what the movie is about.
RorMachine - 3/16/2012, 10:37 PM
Yeah there's a bit of confusion as to what the hell this is..apparently Fox were to screen a 2 min trailer 2mo, but this just popped up. My guess is it's most of what we will see 2mo.
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 3/16/2012, 10:39 PM
Damn! Pre-ordering tickets now! Whew! Now we need better quality!
RorMachine - 3/16/2012, 10:40 PM
The story is - crew lands on planet and die horribly. ..by Ridley Scott. Sold:)
95 - 3/16/2012, 10:43 PM
This is a definite step down from the previous trailer.

Then again, I need to watch again in HQ.

Still looks awesome, bring on trailer #3.

HeadlessJensen - 3/16/2012, 10:56 PM
Um, I'm sold on that screenshot alone. Good trailer, but it didn't really tell me much about the movie and what's going on. Oh well, I love anything Sci-Fi anyway.
Rodimus9 - 3/16/2012, 11:08 PM

pro346 - 3/16/2012, 11:08 PM
First trailer was better...but this one was still good will reserve my judgement until I see 720p or higher
Rodimus9 - 3/16/2012, 11:20 PM
It was kinda all over the place, but I'm still gonna watch the f*ck outa that movie.
masterhater - 3/16/2012, 11:21 PM
It's gonna be sick.
After reading the Leaked story info, I'm soled.
connorblaze - 3/16/2012, 11:32 PM
Huh... the [frick] just got whatted.

I have a strange feeling this and Cabin in the Woods are both gonna be genre changers this year.

Check out the reviews for Cabin; WOW.
CCB1984 - 3/16/2012, 11:33 PM
the Space Jockeys/Guardians might be just as dangerous as the Xenomorphs... could be interesting to see how they figure into the crew getting infected/mutated in these trailers..
CCB1984 - 3/16/2012, 11:37 PM
the teaser set up the world of Weyland/Prometheus...this one sets the tone and mystery of the film...I'm glad it's not too revealing I don't want the trailer to tell me the whole story that's the point of watching the film to discover things by watching it...I hate when trailers show all the money shots and hit you over the head with the plot...
Jobu - 3/16/2012, 11:39 PM
This is going to be awesome. Guy Pearce is the man.
CCB1984 - 3/16/2012, 11:42 PM
also I wanted to add this "is" an Alien prequel in that explains how the derelict ship crashed on the planetoid..somewhat what the space jockeys are and will likely explain the motives of Ash/the Weyland company, setting in motion the events of the Nostromo
redrum010 - 3/16/2012, 11:43 PM
It's R. Scott expanding on his Alien mythos....of course it's gonna be f'kin sic!
batfan175 - 3/16/2012, 11:52 PM
eh it's alright; Nothing that blew me away and lots of stuff from the first trailer in it so..i'll judge it once i've seen it.
CCB1984 - 3/17/2012, 12:22 AM
I enjoy reading people unenthused comments on a new Ridley Scott science fiction film..the man defined the genre with Alien and Blade Runner..people will be blown away by Prometheus for sure...after being subjected to mindless garbage films that people like Michael Bay turn out without any real thought put into the details and zero focus on story/characters it won't be hard...
soaponapope - 3/17/2012, 12:28 AM
and my interest in this movie continues to be exactly 0.0
Fogs - 3/17/2012, 12:33 AM
HOLY.

CRAP.

This was so intense, hopefully it will be as scary as the 1st alien.

And btw I'm pretty sorry for the kids who think they need a too much revealing trailer to consider it good. They're definetly not from my time.
NeoBaggins - 3/17/2012, 12:35 AM
Looks [frick]ing sick. Production values through the roof. Excellent tech. Awesome Sci-Fi environment. Doesn't look cheap. Their really playing up the mystery angle on this. If this is the final trailer I'd still check it out based on this.
gannicus - 3/17/2012, 12:54 AM
very cool cant wait.
CoLest - 3/17/2012, 12:56 AM
I think that this one will be the unexpected/under-rated movie of the year. It'll catch some people off guard. Super excited
HarrisonBergeron - 3/17/2012, 1:26 AM
I got an invite to pre-screen the big trailer on Tuesday, haven't decided if I want to stand in line for hours to see a trailer. Ridley Scott is supposed to be there, but still, it's a trailer.

I got all excited thinking I was going to see the movie, then I kept reading.
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 3/17/2012, 1:50 AM
Is the previously rumored "Space Jokeys making humans reproduce by butt[frick]ing" still gonna happen? Cause I may hold out on seeing this just because of that reason alone.
WolvieCBM - 3/17/2012, 4:19 AM
This is IMAX trailer. Not the full new one we are getting later today.
marvel72 - 3/17/2012, 4:21 AM
its there anymore.
NeoBaggins - 3/17/2012, 4:34 AM
@Azazel1 I never felt that I was being robbed of plot information while watching this. I guess that's because there isn't too many ways this can go. The formula seems to be the same way it's always been: crew stumbles across some shit in space and they get [frick]ed up. It's Alien, Event Horizon, Sunshine, etc.

So yeah, the visuals without exposition suit me just fine. And if the film is more than the standard sci-fi horror story, that's even better. I like surprises. And even if there were diaolog, I would still comment on the visuals instead of what they're saying unless the acting and lines were really bad.
AlexDeLarge87 - 3/17/2012, 5:19 AM
Damn! I missed it!

Why the hell they dont show the video if its supposed to hit now?
NeoBaggins - 3/17/2012, 5:23 AM
@Azazel1 Generating interest through mystery is also a good marketing tool (Cloverfield). But I think us geeks always want to know more because we already know too much. The average movie-goer doesn't know what a Space Jockey is. But I'm sure they can understand the general narrative of this trailer. And this may not even be a theatrical trailer.

I've been meaning to watch the Dragon trilogy. It's on Netflix. I started it at work one day but didn't feel like reading the sub titles. I'll hit it up at home.
