Deadline report that Shame actor James Badge Dale has signed on to star in Iron Man 3 for director Shane Black. Apparently he would play Eric Savin, a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army who becomes the cyborg Coldblood after stepping on a land mine.
Badge Dale also recently appeared in
The Grey, and has just finished filming
The Lone Ranger for Disney. We will see him next in the Robert Zemeckis-directed
Flight with Denzel Washington and
World War Z with Brad Pitt.
Iron Man 3 will follow Warren Ellis' six-issue "Iron Man: Extremis" comic book arc. Robert Downey Jr, will of course return as Tony Stark, alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley and Rebecca Hall.
