I won't be doing a full recap of this week's episode "The Prince Of Winterfell", but I will say that I was a little disappointed with it. It was still decent - I really don't think there could ever be a flat out bad ep of this show given the talent involved - but seemed quite happy to be filler, and act as a calm before the storm as we approach next week's highly anticipated battle. That's fine of course, all shows have those type of episodes, but I think I was just expecting a bit more from it given how strong the two previous weeks have been. I also had a few issues with some changes made to the book - not really a big deal, but we were robbed of a couple of potentially great fight scenes as well as what I always felt to be Arya's defining moment because of them. Anyway, looking forward we have the following trailer for "Blackwater", which also serves as a recap. Obviously if you haven't been watching season 2 so far, skip this as it's spoiler heavy..

@ROR

I'm really hoping they fix the ARYA arc. I know lots of people have been whining and nit-picking it, but I haven't been one of them. I understand removing Weasel Soup, I get that there wasn't enough time to go into the battle at the fort. And for the most part, I thought the changes so far added a lot of good.....especially the interactions with TYWIN. Those were awesome.

Problem is, they are completely sanitizing her character!!! ARYA had several kills of GROWN MEN at this point in the books, TV ARYA has only one fat little stable boy.....and that was shown as more of an accident than an intentional kill. What are they doing to her?? Will she still grow to be the bad@ss assassin I grew to love in the books? I surely hope so. ARYA is my favorite character in the series. I'm trying to reserve judgement until the season is concluded...as I'm really hoping they make up for it in the last two eps.

Talontd-

Arya only had killed her second at the end of ACOK when she escapes Harrenhall. I agree though, that for the most part they've done well with the Arya storyline with the changes they've made. I mean she pointlessly wanders around the wilderness for half of ACOK, and does it for the entire time in ASOS.

If Arya, Gendry, and Hot Pie have truly escaped at the end of last night's episode (which I'm not sure of because they didn't show them actually walking outside), I'm isappointed we didn't get to see any fighting and Jaqen use his sword. But, there are still two episodes left and episode 10 is entitled "Valar Morghulis" so I'm sure we will see more Jaqen and him giving Arya the coin. I wonder if we will see him change his face too.

Talontd/Ckal, I remember it being 3 kills by then.. the stableboy, one of the Gold Cloaks when Yoren is killed, and then the guard on the gate at Harrenhal. Either way I agree, she was much more cold blooded and willing to kill..they definitely seem to have made her a bit more child-like and nervous. I'm sure she will eventually come into her own though.

Also think we have to see Jaquen again, there is no way he won't SPOILER......

give her the coin etc

Ror-

I couldn't remember if she killed one of Amory Lorch's men in that fight or not. I thought she did not because Yoren made her go hide in the stable. I could be wrong though. Either way, she really doesn't come into her own until the end of ASOS I think, during the fight in the inn with the hound. After she killed the guard at harrenhall she was so nervous and talking about it all the time like she can't believe she actually did that.

I'm sure we will see jaqen again in ep 10.

Sansclaymore-

In the battle in the book they used a lot of regular fire with arrows and flaming pitch as well. I wouldn't fret, GRRM wrote the episode.

The fire should be green :(
