Arnie Talks TERMINATOR 5 Appearance; Says It WILL Follow On From SALVATION

The Austrian Oak has let slip a few details for the fifth installment in the Terminator franchise. Schwarzenegger says he starts filming next year and it will be "one of the hardest films I've ever done"..

Follow Mark "RorMachine":
By Mark "RorMachine" Cassidy - 6/7/2012
It appears Arnold Schwarzenegger really is back. The "Governator" tells Action Effects that he has committed to not one, but two more Terminator movies. He says he will need to get into the best shape possible for the role, and that despite some reservations from those involved, it will indeed follow on from the last movie, Terminator Salvation..

“I can’t say to much they want it held in secret if you know what I mean, but I will say that next year I will start filming it and it’s going to be one of the hardest films I have ever done I can tell you that already for sure”, Schwarzenegger said “… they have six months set aside just for filming, so I will be training and getting into the best physical shape I possibly can before filming starts. It does follow Salvation although some of the producers and franchise owner were not too happy about the job McG did with it but they felt it was good enough to continue on and they want the fifth and sixth installments to be the closing of the franchise.”

Justin Lin was rumored to be in line to take over from MCG on the franchise, but his commitments to filming even more Fast And Furious movies might keep him from taking the gig - and spare us from seeing it! No word on whether he is still involved or not anyway. But what about Arnie? Does the man still have what it takes for a movie like this? What role would he even play? Surely not an actual Terminator? Sound off below.

clarkkent182 - 6/7/2012, 11:48 AM
Oh yeah this is the best news all day
santoanderson - 6/7/2012, 11:54 AM
In this timeline, they choose to send back a Terminator meant to look like the 70 year old former governor of California?
Oxbow - 6/7/2012, 11:56 AM
they are going to cgi him like in T3..using the tech they used for CLU in Tron
RorMachine - 6/7/2012, 11:58 AM
I really don't think any of them were AWFUL. Obviously they diminished in quality but I thought Salvation was actually a bit better than Rise Of The Machines. Anyway, as long as they get a decent director I'd be curious to see what they come up with.
JohnnyKrypton - 6/7/2012, 11:59 AM
Maybe they can erase the last two out from my memory...please?

And then can somebody get to work erasing Alien 3+4?
clarkkent182 - 6/7/2012, 12:01 PM
Would bale be back or will we have yet another John conner
rottencotten - 6/7/2012, 12:01 PM
I'm all in for this...It's great to see action stars back on the big screen...Salvation wasn't all that bad for me, I thought the 3rd one was worse...I betting that he is the man that the T-800 replicas look like...kinda like a Bishop character...which I'm totally fine with, just as long as the story explains it well...It would also be great if the last movie has a cameo from Ms. Connor...The Governator is back!!..
Scabsallover - 6/7/2012, 12:02 PM
I can completely believe they'd send a terminator looking like an older man back. Hell they could even go as far as saying the newer t-600 mkii age, for infiltration purposes. Maybe even a glitch, so that aging is accelerated. I don't know, will a clever line, it could be explained just fine.
blvdnoise - 6/7/2012, 12:02 PM
I can't pretend to not be interested in this.. I [frick]ing the terminator franchise!
Scabsallover - 6/7/2012, 12:04 PM
Oh is it 800? I thought it was 600
Nick56 - 6/7/2012, 12:06 PM
Personally I believe that every Terminator film and the short lived tv series was good. Each one brought something new to the franchise and helped in pushing the story forward. I am looking forward to Terminator 5.
Nubase - 6/7/2012, 12:07 PM
if it follows salvation then the last 2 movies will show arnie been sent back to kill sarah and protecting john conner l guess but l hope we see more of the war itself.

Question is will bale come back?, l remember him siging a deal for 2 more movies but that was with the company that went bankrupt.
LAXtremest - 6/7/2012, 12:07 PM

Hope not.
ralfinader - 6/7/2012, 12:09 PM
Never saw the last one. Stick a fork in this franchise and come up with a new idea.
Hudson3D - 6/7/2012, 12:12 PM
OK, so this could work. And if the time line is right, then he should be playing the bad guy like in the first film. But one thing I have always wanted to see is Arnie playing two parts. The good and the bad. None of that liquid metal crap. Just two of the original models beating the shit out of each other.
Mysterion - 6/7/2012, 12:14 PM
100% agree with @yossarian said...just let it be already.
legolad - 6/7/2012, 12:19 PM
They can just CLU him like TRON LEGACY and he doesn't have to perform any action scenes, but it's going to be hard to find a body double that can look like Arnie, so he can pump some iron and get into shape. Then use CGI on his face:)
SpiderFan35 - 6/7/2012, 12:20 PM
Sexy skin break!

HULK2099 - 6/7/2012, 12:23 PM
I want him to get his body back !
musashi - 6/7/2012, 12:26 PM
They might mo-cap his performance like the Hulk, then de-age him. But it's okay, he's supposed to look like a robot.
White - 6/7/2012, 12:26 PM
Good news.
Hudson3D - 6/7/2012, 12:28 PM
@Tea... Awesome.

thewonderer - 6/7/2012, 12:36 PM
4 was good to okay, I think it gets way too much hate.

3, however, was horrendous dog turd.

Excited for this if they get a talented writer. [frick] you James Cameron and your fetish for blue people. This was your best work
Hawksblueyes - 6/7/2012, 12:43 PM
STOP IT!!! I feel like I'm in Mr. Rogers neighborhood.

Dedpool - 6/7/2012, 12:43 PM
I say go with the Arnie is a resistance fighter and the person that the t-800 was based on look wise.
AlexDeLarge87 - 6/7/2012, 12:44 PM
........... O_O
AlexDeLarge87 - 6/7/2012, 12:46 PM
Arnold you old fool.
GuyOfSteel - 6/7/2012, 12:47 PM
I'm on this site all the time and i usually never post but some of you guys are crazy. How is it not great news that they are gonna finish the franchise? Salvation was good, if you dont think it was good then you must not have been watching the same movie as me. Tell me what was wrong with it? The Terminators were made to finish the story. Why would you not want them to finish it?
Boyle360 - 6/7/2012, 12:52 PM
There's no way they're not going to use CGI to make him look younger. Well, maybe if they give a reason as to why the T-800 now looks like a 60 year old man.
Killuminatic - 6/7/2012, 12:52 PM
You guys need to check this out...
GerMan - 6/7/2012, 1:07 PM
T1 and T2 are my favorite movies of all time

T3 has great old school action but the story is very very disappointing. they also could have replaced arnold by bruce willis because this movie has no terminator feeling at all -it´s just as i said a premium action movie. for a terminator movie a great story is more important than action scenes.

T4 should be terminated - and the director too. seriously the whole final fight scene is a fusion of the final fight scenes of T1 and T2. MCG almost even used the same camera angle showing the T-800´s metal-food on the stair.

the fith Terminator movie should use the information about the future, time-machine etc. from the first two movies only.
DaddyTuesday - 6/7/2012, 1:10 PM
Maybe they could have Arnie as one of the money men behind Skynet with one of his decisions being to have the model T-800's look like him, kind of like Dr. Noonien Soong, from Star Trek: TNG (Data's creator). Until I see how they'll pull it off it just sounds very sad and desperate (IMO).
SpiderFan35 - 6/7/2012, 1:10 PM
@Tea, Nomis, Trudy and whomever: The Kumbaya continues in the CBM chat room! We could use your support and positive thoughts!
SpiderFan35 - 6/7/2012, 1:13 PM

@Kamen: Ha ha, this has been a pretty fun day I'll admit.
Tomontherun99 - 6/7/2012, 1:36 PM
The not-so long awaited return of Chief Master Sergeant William Candy maybe?
SpiderFan35 - 6/7/2012, 1:38 PM
@Nomis: She looks really nice. I bet she has lots of great stories about her hopes and dreams for the future.

And that cat is super cute, good job.

:D
Rockstar96 - 6/7/2012, 1:40 PM
Glad Arnold's back; since it's going to follow after Salvation, will Bale be in it? I hope so.
rondz123 - 6/7/2012, 1:57 PM
The best part and only interesting part of T3 was the last 20min the imiage of the uprising was terrifing knowing the general public was oblivious to the hell that was starting. T4 story was covoluted but action was good. I hated the terminator with the plastic mask tho that was a bad interpretation of what reese described in T1. Better script = good film all 4 it tho.
rondz123 - 6/7/2012, 2:04 PM
@NOMIS I CAN COUNT THE STRECH MARKS ON HER ASS "I love strech marks on a nice round ass"
DravinClaw - 6/7/2012, 2:09 PM
Umm I don't think they need him they did a nice job with the CGI arnold
Pauul - 6/7/2012, 2:19 PM
Hell yes!

Thank god, trying to deny Salvation happened would've been awful.

Plus there were high points in the film, such as Anton Yelchin's performance.
