First Look At Tom Cruise And Olga Kurylenko On The Set Of OBLIVION

Production is under way in New York City for director Joseph Kosinski's graphic novel adaptation Oblivion, and here we have the first set pics featuring leading man Cruise and his lovely co-star..

Oblivion is based on Kosisnski's graphic novel of the same name and focuses on the last man (Cruise) on a post-apocalyptic Earth, who stays behind to repair ships that hunt down and blast a virulent alien species. Michael Arndt is currently working on script re-writes that had earlier drafts by William Monahan and Karl Gajdusek. Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark are producing through Chernin Entertainment along with Barry Levine and Kosinski.

Oblivion hits theaters July 19th, 2013 and stars Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Melissa Leo.

I thought this film was some futuristic strange new world like film, all i see is tom cruise as tom cruise crossing a road?

Yeah not sure about that..maybe this is a scene taking place while the Earth was still "normal" or a flashback or something.

she is mostly known for her Bondgirl role in Quantum of solace.
And yes Cruise is a great actor, truly brilliant. But it seems likes he is a truly sick person...

Yeah, people forget to seperate Cruise the actor from Cruise the strange one in real life. And these pics are throwing me off too @SebHope...

@COLOSO thank you! personally i cant really stand him as a person and his beliefs (as i think most people would agree) are just plain silly, but never the less i dont let that affect my opinion of his work, which most of i am a big fan. Will Smith and Jason Lee i am also a big fan of, they're also scientologists but i still love they're work and acting ability.

She's the same size as he is. Not that it matters for this film. Just a casual observation.

Not a big Tom Cruise fan. He's an okay actor, I guess, but I find him annoying. Not because of his beliefs, I just find him to be annoying on-screen. I like to see some versatility from actors and he just seems to appear to do the same thing for some time no matter what he is in.

oblivion has probably the best script ever written but im confused by this scene because i dont remember anything like this in it.and previous set photos of tom were with much longer hair.its probably a flashback or some memory implant...

I really like Tom cruise as an actor, he is great. Olga is hot... I should finish watching Magic City.

One thing I'm confused about that a user already brought up.... Did the graphic novel even get released yet? I've been wanting to read it for a couple years now it seems.

Jack Reacher
Oblivion
All You Need Is Kill
Van Helsing

And after that, he just might be back for Mission Impossible 5. I'm looking forward to these films.

Let me guess: Tom Cruise plays a broken man who, through the course of the film, learns to reclaim his life.

Yawn. Seen that story in every flick from Top Gun to Jerry Maguire to Minority Report to War of the Worlds.
