Oblivion is based on Kosisnski's graphic novel of the same name and focuses on the last man (Cruise) on a post-apocalyptic Earth, who stays behind to repair ships that hunt down and blast a virulent alien species. Michael Arndt is currently working on script re-writes that had earlier drafts by William Monahan and Karl Gajdusek. Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark are producing through Chernin Entertainment along with Barry Levine and Kosinski.
Oblivion hits theaters July 19th, 2013 and stars Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Melissa Leo.
