Sebastian Stan Will Return As Bucky In CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

No big shocker here, but Variety have confirmed that the actor will reprise his role in the Captain America sequel - this time playing a very different Bucky Barnes of course!..

As an addendum to the Anthony Mackie/Falcon casting, Variety report that Sebastian Stan will indeed be back for the sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger - now titled "The Winter Soldier". This isn't exactly unexpected, especially when you factor in that Stan has signed a six-picture deal with Marvel, and the title refers to his character!



For those unfamiliar with the comic storyline, Stan will - unless there are some drastic alterations made - be playing the antagonist this time around, as he returns after apparently falling to his death as The Winter Soldier, a bionic armed, brainwashed assassin. But now that Cap has some help in the form of The Falcon, don't expect Bucky to be the only one giving the heroes headaches.

Joe and Anthony Russo will helm Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which is set for release April 4, 2014

why is this in the news section,

he signed a six picture deal, which means that no matter what he is doing at the time, if marvel calls on him he HAS to return

Its not like they give you a choice to return, at least not until their contract is up

Dude has to put himself in good shape if he is going to challenge Cap. He was pretty small beside Cap in the first film.

if you guys haven't read captain america winter soldier,i highly reccomend it,its probably the best captain america story i've read.

Good. Being that I wasn't aware of the six picture deal, I was a little worried that Marvel might start searching for someone more famous to fill Stan's role. Nice to see that they're not 'pulling a Rhodey,' and keeping a consistent thread between films.

all the hints were there, the sniper scene with Bucky, the death in the snowy "winter" alps, Buckys the only one on the table in the lab when cap saves him, they've already set it up without saying a peep. God I love the cap movie

I'm excited for Winter Soldier but I guess we can rule out seeing Batroc ze Leaper. Guess I will have to wait for the third installment.

Marvel didn't recast Rhodey because if stature with the actor playing him. Money was the issue. Howard had a big check from the first for very little screen time. Marvel wanted to reduce gis salary for the sequel and he chose not to

for those who feel its too early for the winter soldier to show up in the second film, I believe the story line is big enough to carry over to this next movie and the third movie.

It was finished..in that all of the news was present, I just meant I hadn't gone over it for typos etc. When it appears on the main page, it's completed. Otherwise when you are browsing through the tabs you may come across an occasional article with a misspleed word or two..my sincerest [frick]ing apologies!

I hope it's not Zemo, he's too similar to Red Skull, an tbh I thought Skull was a pretty rubbish villain the first movie. Weaving gave a good performance, but the character just failed to make an impact with me. I like Crossbones.

love the winter soldier story arc.

I hope there is a scene taken from Ultimate Alliance in which Cap has to run in circles 100 times to defuse the nuclear bomb while Winter Soldier shoots at him.......just kidding. that was lame. :)

if not .. then, I think Rosamund Pike would be an amazing Sharon Carter.
