We still have a long time to wait until HBO's fantasy drama series returns to our screens, and although there isn't too much here to tide you over until then, the very first set photos from the season 3 shoot are well worth a look. They reveal some statues bearing the banner and sigil of House Tully -- Catelyn Stark's family home, before she married Ned and moved to Winterfell...

Yes, as if we didn't already have enough new characters to contend with last season, we will be getting quite a few more in this coming one too -- including from House Tully: Brynden "The Blackfish", and Catelyn's brother Edmure.

The third season of Game of Thrones is set to air on HBO in late March, 2013.

I'm psyched to learn about House Tulley and some of the other houses we've yet to see in the series. Looks like a lot of new characters for season 3.

um...yeah this is cool, but why didnt they have The Blackfish in season 1? I can understand not having Cat go to Riverrun and not showing Edmure or Hoster Tully. It would've taken away from the Stark-centric story of the overall season, but The Blackfish was the guard at the entrence to The Vail. Even a cameo would have been sweet. Now, I know why they are having Blackfish and Edmure in season 3(I wont say for those who havent read the books yet)I just dont see why they waited till season 3 to even introduce the other Tullys.

And I dont think theyll be having the Red Wedding till season 4. Either that or it'll be the season finale. Now that I think of it, I all of a sudden cant think of any other way to end the season. You cant put that in the middle of the series.

stutx - 8/2/2012, 9:01 AM
wow i didnt even think of that.. totally agree with johan red wedding has to be season 3 ending.
Morningstar - 8/2/2012, 7:49 PM
I'm not sure they'll make it the season finale I've just been reading the series again and it's timing in the book wouldn't really work for it
