Second PROMETHEUS Deleted/ Extended Scene Features More From Peter Weyland

We have already seen a very brief preview of a scene in which "The Engineer" speaks, now we have a much longer follow up clip, which sees Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce) demonstrate just how massive his ego actually is as he replies to the giant alien..

While these extended versions of the original scene don't actually shed any more light on exactly why The Engineer decided to wipe out Weyland and his crew, they are still interesting additions. Maybe he the big fella just thought Weyland's God complex needed to be taken down a peg or two..

In the distant future, two superpowers control Earth and fight each other for all the solar system's natural resources. When one side dispatches a team to a distant planet to terraform it for human colonization, the team discovers an indigenous race of bio-mechanoid killers. Ridley Scott, director of 'Alien' and 'Blade Runner,' returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Prometheus hits DVD and Blu-ray October 11th.

QuanZen - 9/18/2012, 8:42 AM

Can someone post what happens and what was said? Won't load for some of us and it'd be much appreciated.
TankD - 9/18/2012, 9:00 AM
Like I said if you go in not expecting a movie about xenomorphs then you will enjoy this film so much more. but Ido feel like parts were missing and I am frustrated by the cryptic story telling.
SpideyQuad - 9/18/2012, 9:01 AM
It really is a shame how these Hollywood suits hack and ruin a movie just so it fits in a box. If the story takes 2 hours let it be
BFGLOOM - 9/18/2012, 9:03 AM
Scene was better this way
Danbojohnj - 9/18/2012, 9:19 AM
They should have left that in,much more depth.
Maximus101 - 9/18/2012, 9:24 AM
I agree they could have left this whole scene in. Can't wait for this blu-ray!
MoonDoggyX - 9/18/2012, 9:25 AM
TankD - I didn't think this movie was an Alien prequel before I saw it, and I was left VERY unsatisfied at the end. The previews and the whole first 2 acts of this movie portrayed it to be a Sci-fi/mystery movie with lots of intrigue. Then the third act hits and the movie just drops everything from the first 2 acts, without answering any of the questions, and becomes a mindless sci-fi/horror flick. I still can't say that this movie was horrible as everything but the script was top notch...

One good thing that these deleted scenes does do is lay to rest the rumblings that the engineer was infected with the black goo, ad that's why he went "ape-sh#t"...
SpideyQuad - 9/18/2012, 9:25 AM
Question, I've already pre-bought the DVD but haven't seen the movie yet:

Is the space Jockey and the engineer one And the same?
Godzillafart - 9/18/2012, 9:29 AM
So the scene just reinforces what we already knew: Weyland is a megalomaniac.

Doesn't fix any of the bad/non-existent science or shitty writing that made this beautifully shot, beautifully directed and beautifully acted film on of the most spectacular failures in years.
DioFoRio - 9/18/2012, 9:30 AM
@SpideyQuad!!!! What are you doing man?!?!?! You're gonna ruin the movie for yourself.....By actually watching the dvd
DioFoRio - 9/18/2012, 10:06 AM
that scene when Shaw is outside the ship and the camera is looking down on her past the circulating siren lights. That is my fave shot in the flick for some reason. They should've just edited the film down to just that scene. I was looking forward to this movie a lil more than the Avengers. I was let down by one of them.
Danbojohnj - 9/18/2012, 10:13 AM
@Spidey It's a great film BUT don't expect an Alien horror, its a quiet film.Know what you're going into and you will like it.But forgawdsake don't watch that clip.
jimoakley666 - 9/18/2012, 10:13 AM
This scene is much better like this.
TurdFergunson - 9/18/2012, 10:16 AM

You all make me laugh.

@monkeyballs3

It reminds me of Keir Dullea's makeup job. Maybe that's what Ridley purposely wanted, but yeah, I agree.
BigEars - 9/18/2012, 10:35 AM
I dont get y cast Guy Pierce 2 play a old guy; just cast a old guy
Fair enough he was young 4 the viral marketing stuff, but realistically, most of the movie going public doesn't give a shit about that so like I said it would've been a lot more fitting 2 just cast an old guy...
poop23 - 9/18/2012, 11:02 AM
Still a way better movie than Avatar
Fogs - 9/18/2012, 11:57 AM
badass movie.
Sanderman - 9/18/2012, 12:23 PM
Wonder why they decided to cut this?
Brady1138 - 9/18/2012, 12:51 PM
They should have kept this.
Luminus - 9/18/2012, 2:10 PM
What a pointless, irritating, and boring film
