While doing press for her latest movie, Trouble With The Curve, Amy Adams continues to field questions on the role everyone really wants to know about - her upcoming turn as Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel. As expected, she doesn't give anything away plot/character wise here, but she does talk about one of the reasons she decided to play the part in the first place. Adams says she has always loved superhero movies, but suggests that being a "little pigeon toed", she knew she would never get the chance to put on the spandex and actually run around as a female superhero, so Lois Lane was the closest she would get! She also reiterates her feelings on the character herself, and working with Henry Cavill. Skip to the 7 minute mark for the Man Of Steel stuff..

Personally I feel there are quite a few superheroes Adams could play - granted maybe of the shorter variety! Anyway, we will all get to see her as Lois Lane when Man Of Steel hist theaters on June 14th, 2013.

I like Amy Afams. I think she is a good actress. I have confidence in her to deliver a great performance as Lois Lane.
RorMachine - 9/19/2012, 5:36 PM
haha, right..my bad! I'll change it, wasn't sure what the hell she was on about there TBH.
weaponX2 - 9/19/2012, 5:46 PM
you're right Kevberg, She was in the episode "Craving" from the first season...I absolutely love Amy Adams and can't wait to see her playing Lois Lane, and if anyone is still doubting her ability to play a character like Lois...check her out as Amelia Earheart in Night At The Museum:Battle Of The Smithsonian...her character in that was very headstrong and adventurous and willing to put herself in the thick of things...very much like Lois Lane...I can't wait!!

Amy Adams is a great actress and I have no doubt that she will do great as Lois Lane. I literally cannot wait for the Man of Steel.
Tevii - 9/19/2012, 6:03 PM
Im not criticizing her acting or anything... but what a HORRIBLE choice for Lois Lane
zachman2013 - 9/19/2012, 6:04 PM
Wow an actor from smallville that actually has a legit acting job. haha
theboywonder - 9/19/2012, 6:07 PM
She's just perfect
CCR - 9/19/2012, 6:18 PM
Not tryin to bring any hate, but they really shoulda got someone younger...she's 38 and I saw her recently on some talk show. She is definitely starting to show her age. Just sayin, for sequel purposes.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 9/19/2012, 6:20 PM
Does not look 38 at all. Beautiful.
grandizer74 - 9/19/2012, 6:34 PM
@ccr I would disagree. I think she's still gorgeous. also, it's premature to talk about sequels. everyone was planning out the green lantern dynasty and look what happened to that. and if it took a while for a sequel and she didn't want to do it or the studio did feel she was too old, they can replace her like they did katie holmes in the dark knight.
CCR - 9/19/2012, 6:39 PM
@grandizer74

True, she could be replaced, but I hate it when they do that. Except for Don Cheadle in IM2, wish he would've been available for the first one.
mrHJK - 9/19/2012, 6:46 PM
Love Amy Adams. Cannot wait to see her as Lois Lane.
mbembet - 9/19/2012, 6:46 PM
i just can't believe she's almost 40
what a beautiful woman
Ranger14 - 9/19/2012, 6:58 PM
A person is an idiot for saying she looks 38? Why is that such a big deal? She does look 38. That doesn't mean she doesn't look good. If you look at images that aren't all airbrushed and touched up, you can definitely see the aging and crows feet, but like I said, it doesn't make her less attractive. I think Diane Lane looks great no matter how old she is or looks. It's not like looking your age is a bad thing. They'll cover it up in the film, just like a lot of her photo images.

I think she is a good actress, I just don't see her as Lois Lane.
CCR - 9/19/2012, 7:05 PM
Maybe you don't see her as Lois Lane because she's 38. Lol.
CCR - 9/19/2012, 7:08 PM
And to add to my point, she's 9 years younger than Diane Lane (Martha Kent). Once again, JUST SAYIN.
SithLord - 9/19/2012, 7:22 PM
@sober.. shiny ass right there.
Tony93 - 9/19/2012, 8:09 PM
@kevberg I remember that ;)
Tony93 - 9/19/2012, 8:10 PM
WHY MUST WE HAVE LOIS LANES THAT LOOK SO OLD ;/
The movie magic better make her look 10 years younger
DioFoRio - 9/19/2012, 8:11 PM
she's really hot. not into a readhead lois but thats not going to ruin it for me...and yes i' know there are a couple of books where her hair has red in it. still stoked for this flick.
fanboy03191 - 9/19/2012, 8:17 PM
Hmm, don't know how I feel about her being Lois Lane... Will have to see the movie first.
Tony93 - 9/19/2012, 8:21 PM
lord she is so beautiful though
superpooper - 9/19/2012, 8:29 PM
Trailer please. Enough bullshit.
TheAbomination - 9/19/2012, 8:32 PM
Whoa. She was on Smallville. That's some crazy shit right there. But yeah, I still think she's a little too old to be playing the female lead in a superhero blockbuster. I'm sure WB's gonna want sequels for this.
localman - 9/19/2012, 9:01 PM
Amy Adams is a great actress who can do "sweet & cute" but also "tough & feisty." I'm predicting that she will be the best Lois Lane ever on screen, followed by Erica Durrance. Margot Kidder was the worst -- Lois Lane should not be a ditz.
zachman2013 - 9/19/2012, 9:07 PM
@localman
Margorat Kidder, the worst? The Original is always the best, the worst hands down was Kate Bosworth.
BenderDickCumPatch - 9/19/2012, 11:13 PM
So goddamn hot.
kamikazeturtle - 9/19/2012, 11:38 PM
She definitely doesn't look her age. I'm fine with her looks outside of the hair color issue. You always expect a mature woman to play Lois Lane anyways (which was one of the many problems with Kate Bosworth). I think she'll do a great job. My only concern would be that she's too Disney cute. She can work around it but it could be distracting.
lokibane2012 - 9/20/2012, 2:48 AM
"there are quite a few superheroes Adams could play - granted maybe of the shorter variety!"

uhhh...
most superheroines are 5'5 to 5'7, Adams is 5'3-4.

no worse than 6'1 Henry Cavill playing 6'3-4 Superman
or 5'8 RDJ playing 6'1 Iron Man
lokibane2012 - 9/20/2012, 2:56 AM
@zachman2013

"The Original is always the best"

Who's your favorite Captain America (1990)? or Hulk (2003)? or Batman (1966)? or Judge Dredd (1995)?

and I'm sure after the reboots, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Ghost Rider, and Punisher would join the list too.

---
Also, Margot Kidder wasn't the first Lois Lane either. Phyllis Coates was, in the 1951 theatrical release 'Superman and the Mole Men'.

You are an idiot. Google things before you make a definitive statement like that.
lokibane2012 - 9/20/2012, 2:57 AM
^I only listed thing from theatrical releases of live-action superhero films. "original" would go even farther back if I started including other mediums.
lokibane2012 - 9/20/2012, 2:59 AM
^^ and I never even began with the supporting casts of each of the films.
darkmetal - 9/20/2012, 4:53 AM
I think Adams is a good person and hate to say it but I just don't think she was right for this.
Maybe like Joseph Gordon Levitt she will surprise people though.
As for the best Lois Lane ever, Erica Durance's Lois Lane was overall the best, however after Gough and Millar left Smallville, the producers took the tone from real (not Nolan real) and went into caricatures too often. So I would say Durance's 1st few years of Lois Lane were perfect while the last 2 seasons the character slid a bit.
Kidder was sexy but her role had no depth. Superman 1 + 2 were good but the roles were not developed that well. Donner's directing and some great casting and performances kinda covered that up a bit.
Facade - 9/20/2012, 5:24 AM
I just can see it. She's just not all that attractive. She's about as attractive as Gweneth Paltrow...not hidious but nothing special, either.
Super12 - 9/20/2012, 5:28 AM
Hold up, Lois was a red head in the comics for awhile??
thewolfx - 9/20/2012, 9:00 AM
all you had to do zack was make this chics hair black

id even take a really dark red ...

anyways id hit amy adams all day everyday mmm dat ass
PapaMidnight - 9/20/2012, 10:30 AM
She's delicious.
Dunejedi1 - 9/20/2012, 12:25 PM
Different strokes and all, but I never thought Amy Adams was all that attractive. She's pretty for a plain-looking chick. Which I'm actually fine with, more 'average looking' people should be cast in films to lend them more authenticity. And I know I'm more critical than a lot of people, but I wouldn't characterize her acting as 'great'. She's a capable actor, but I've never seen anything of hers that made me think she had great range and ability. She'll probably do a serviceable rendition of Lois Lane. To be fair, there isn't anyone cast in this movie that I think is inspired. I mean, I love Diane Lane; she's the hottest woman on the planet and is a solid actor, but I would never cast her as Martha Kent, she'd give Superman a super-sized Oedipus complex. And I wish Kevin Costner just retired or something, he hasn't been good in anything in 20 years. Not that excited to see this flick. I guess that makes me a hater.
KingG - 9/20/2012, 2:07 PM
So excited, she is so goddamn pretty and sexy. I would take her ass around the world in the bedroom, sorry that was too far. BUT, MOS I have faith in you, hopefully this will be a lucrative approach to diminishing the hate for SUPERMAN MOVIES. Very excited.
JULEZ13 - 9/20/2012, 2:20 PM
OMG!!! She called Cavill delicious!! And yum in many other interviews! She definitely has a crush on him... I'm pretty sure his fiance hates her already lol!
