Most of us will agree that The Avengers was a damn fine piece of superhero cinema, but as we also know, elements of the movie came in for a bit of criticism at the same time, and there were a few vocal detractors. But hey, what movie escapes that? The thing is, with The Avengers fans tend to get a bit tetchy when anyone points to a flaw, and with that in mind, Screen Junkies have focused their latest Honest Trailer on highlighting a few of em - that is, if you agree that they ARE flaws? Have a look and sound off in the usual place..

I don't agree with all of that of course, but it's still pretty damn funny. The Avengers is out now on Blu-ray and DVD.

Can't say it was that funny. Just okay. And Cap is awesome. :)

DaenerysTargaryen - 9/25/2012, 6:09 PM
Funny....though I disagree with them about cap but whatever
lapress - 9/25/2012, 6:11 PM

ManofSteel22 - 9/25/2012, 6:12 PM

Edmundo - 9/25/2012, 6:19 PM
Loved the movie but this was funny!
Deschain12 - 9/25/2012, 6:25 PM
Haha funny stuff. Still a very a good movie.
SageMode - 9/25/2012, 6:34 PM
I guess they missed at the end if THE INCREDIBLE HULK when Banner trained himself to control his transformations.

It was ok though. Lol
thewonderer - 9/25/2012, 6:36 PM
Seriously, FINALLY. Hilarious and all true.

No one comments on the flaws of Avengers, but its all fun and games to point out the flaws in TDKR
KalEl26 - 9/25/2012, 6:39 PM
That was hilarious. i loved the "gay bane" comment and how the Avengers talked to each other without any communication devices.
RamonSuarez - 9/25/2012, 6:46 PM
Some of this is funny, the rest is dumb like criticizing the first 40 minutes for actually developing the storyline and characters before the serious action starts.
Godzillafart - 9/25/2012, 6:46 PM
Funnyish. Although I loved TDK, I have to say Honest Trailer's roast of that was far more biting and accurate.
CoughCough - 9/25/2012, 6:51 PM
lolz at no headset comment. There is already micro-Bluetooth on market. Do you not except Stark to have something better? like, pinpoint audio broadcasted directly into each avenger's ear. man, the lack of imagination is a killer.

@saintspidey and godzilla

- boring opening
- no drama at all
- no real inspiring themes or messages
- No character development
- Tons of plots holes
- Bad villain

Theres a bunch of things of roast Avengers on
Tymminator - 9/25/2012, 7:03 PM
...whatever.
darkknight2149 - 9/25/2012, 7:10 PM
Why do you I agree with most of this? The movie, to me, was very over-rated. I gave it a mixed review, but I rated it 80-something percent for the pop-corn fun it included. But I don't see how this was better than Iron Man or The Dark Knight, which I felt deserved the praise they received. However, not all of the honest trailer I agreed with, such as nobody knew who Thanos was. I knew who Thanos was from the comics and I'm pretty sure thousands of other comics did to. But I am also keeping in mind that this trailer is supposed to be taken as a joke.
thewonderer - 9/25/2012, 7:13 PM
@starscream

Its a sole movie, and its to be evaluated as such.

Character Development isn't something that stops. None of these characters just stop what they're doing for a purpose. They have ongoing turmoil, and it would've been super easy to incorporate it in Avengers too.

Tone down the comedy for christs sakes, cutting about 10 jokes from the whole flick wouldn't hurt anyone. Use the time to seriously reflect on Caps isolation, maybe focus on something of Stark that the other 2 didn't already focus on (Shouldn't be ignorant and cocky all the time then realize how wrong i was all over again). Elaborate on Hulks controlling. PUT MORE THAN A LINE ON THORS APPEARANCE.

Have Loki be a bigger threat than just some pawn at the last fight. He could've held his own against Hulk using illusions for a little.
averageBEAR - 9/25/2012, 7:16 PM
poor captain america but i dont like him at all
AmazingFantasy - 9/25/2012, 7:18 PM
I agree with @thewonderer for some goddamn crazy reason. The Lizard, made me think that he could eat and break a young Spider-Man. However Loki coudlnt do shit against the Avengers, he didn't put up any fight. He got his ass kicked.
AmazingFantasy - 9/25/2012, 7:19 PM

THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 9/25/2012, 7:22 PM
I think the Thanos one was the finniest. I remember in the theater when they showed that, like 3 people clapped LOL. No one knew who he was.
thewonderer - 9/25/2012, 7:31 PM
I want doubters to seriously consider this reversion of the Hulk pwning Loki scene I came up with.

As Hulk crashes in, have Loki set up multiple illusions. To which Hulk smashes at but keeps attacking the wrong one and missing. THEN have Loki kinda cockily say something and Hulk finally smacks the right one. THEN have the money line "You dull creature" and the final Loki smackdown.

This way Loki actually managed to hold Hulk at bay, thus making him more credible and a victim in the end of his own overconfidence.

BlackFlash - 9/25/2012, 7:39 PM
Haters gone hate.

The reason why most fans don't go on about certain things like others is because they've already gone over it, I remember when the trailer and images came out fans already said what they had to and that's why it's kind of null and void now.

"Tone down the comedy" I'm sorry but what makes Marvel and especially The Avengers so good is that they don't take everything so seriously an make it feel like you're watching a true comic book come to life.

"reflect on Caps isolation" This isn't Captain America it's The Avengers

"focus on something of Stark that the other 2 didn't already focus on (Shouldn't be ignorant and cocky all the time then realize how wrong i was all over again)" You've never read a issue of Iron Man have you.

"Elaborate on Hulks controlling" Why, it's not hard to understand.

"PUT MORE THAN A LINE ON THORS APPEARANCE." Yes do that just to give away more details of what Thor 2 could be about and dont leave anything to the imagination.

"Have Loki be a bigger threat than just some pawn at the last fight. He could've held his own against Hulk using illusions for a little." When would he use the illusions, the part when Hulk smashes him through the window or when he cuts him off mid babbling to smash him into the ground.

The one and only thing that I would have liked to have seen that you could have used but didn't was why didn't they say anything about Rhodey
DrDoom - 9/25/2012, 7:39 PM
Yeah . . . . these guys aren't funny.
RamonSuarez - 9/25/2012, 7:42 PM
At the end of the day.

No matter what.

Avengers >>>> TDKR

The critics believe it. The fans believe it. And the box office reflects it.

Deal with it.
UltimateHunt - 9/25/2012, 7:47 PM
They also did one for The Dark Knight (DONT FREAK OUT SONS/BF's OF NOLAN OR NOLANITES) im saying they did one also for tdk it was funny but still with respect on how good movie it was, same for here in avengers especially the part of DC lol So True..... But before this they did a "Who Hates Avengers" stating that who ever does its not human lol you guys should go watch it
UltimateHunt - 9/25/2012, 7:49 PM
@RamonSuarez

Hands DOWN!!! Avengers >>>>>>>>>>> TDKR
MJPETTY7 - 9/25/2012, 8:05 PM
LOL!!!!! Some of this is true!!! Like the first 20 minutes is kind of boring... And I did wonder how they were all talking to each other!!!
hueyfreeman - 9/25/2012, 8:06 PM
... why was batman even brought into the discussion?
"the avengers had some legitimate problems with pacing and continuity errors"
"yeah, but it was better than batman!"
Huh?
BIGBMH - 9/25/2012, 8:15 PM
I love the movie, but LMAO! So many funny observations. Where are their headsets?!

Still, f$%^ them for calling Cap no one's favorite. He's mine, gosh darn it!
malschla - 9/25/2012, 8:27 PM
The Avengers is my favorite movie, but this was pretty funny. I just watched it today for the 5th or 6th time and I never noticed Cap talking with his mask off (the mask did have built-in comm, or at least it appeared to). That's okay, though... willing suspension, and all that.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 9/25/2012, 8:30 PM
aww whats a matter? When people make fun of Avengers you get all pissy.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 9/25/2012, 8:31 PM
And I am talking to the Marvel trolls btw.
Jokerzreality - 9/25/2012, 8:33 PM
Don't agree with all the criticism, but some of it they nailed. Just to comment on some of their points....

- Iron Man, everyone's secondary marvel character

Well, that's just isn't true. Maybe for some people. But i personally find him my favourite. Or that is, i find RDJ's version of him my favourite marvel movie character.

- Must reedem himself from the godawful Iron Man 2

I thought that was what Iron Man 3 was about, not The Avengers. But i agree that IM2 was a let down. But not exactly god awful.

- Thors appearence in the Avengers completely negates his own movie's ending.

We have yet to see Thor: The Dark World, so we don't know which risk Odin has taken by using dark energy in order to send Thor to earth. So i find that a premature criticism.

- Captain America, no ones favourite character

That's subjective. I know some people who loves him. But i kind of agree, since he is my least favourite of the four big ones in the Avengers.

- Hulk can suddenly control his rage for the sake of the plot.

Didn't they see the end of The Incredible Hulk. If you have half a brain you could figure out how he can control his rage, and why he couldn't on the helicarrier.

- The Thrill of generic Aliens flying on jetskies

Well, if there is one thing i dislike about the movie, it's the Alien army, they are too anonymous in my oppinion. They are boring, and you never get the sense of danger from them. So that statement i can kind of agree with.

- Unjustified fail safe of the tesseract

I don't think so. If the tesseract can't protect against itself, it makes sense that Loke's staff can penetrate it's force field. Or at least it does to me.

- The Explosion that instantly kills all aliens and conviently ties up lose ends.

Yeah, i didn't like that either. That sucked. So i agree with that statement.

- Every nerd in the audience pretended to know Thanos

Yeah, that's not exactly true. But i think they know that. But i can see the funny in that.

- The first 20 minutes is boring.

Completely disagree. Seen the movie 12 times now, and i love the first 20 minutes, or i love the first 1 hour and 30 minutes. What i dislike the most is the last 40 minutes. Only because of the boring alien army. So that's really subjective, and not honest at all, or at least not to all of the audience.

- How are thay talking to each other without ear pieces.

Well i noticed that on the second viewing and got annoyed by it. But then i reminded my self, that this is a comic book movie. Isn't it possible that Stark inveted some sort of really small ear piece that's almost invisible to the naked eye? Or that shield had some in storage? Of course if that was the case, it's kind of idiotic that the shield agents have to wear those big ear pieces :-P

Guess that was it for now. Sorry for my bad english spelling, it's not my native language.

ThaReaperAssassin - 9/25/2012, 8:42 PM
Haha that was pretty good. I liked the movie and all but that wasn't bad.
CPBuff22 - 9/25/2012, 8:44 PM
Not sure where they get their information that no one likes Captain America, I don't remember a time when there wasn't a Captain America comic out in my lifetime. Even when he was dead he had multiple titles out.

I enjoyed the lead in to the film and didn't find it boring in the least.

The Chitauri collapsing when their ship was destroyed is exactly the same thing that happened with the phalanx & annihilation wave in the comics. Not sure why that is an issue.

As far as the rest of it, kinda funny... I guess.
thalidomide - 9/25/2012, 8:48 PM
lmao at butthurt freaks.

Avengers FTW!
