UPDATE: First Trailer For Rob Zombie's LORDS OF SALEM Hits

This one has been getting some very good word of mouth, and has been hailed as Zombie's most accomplished work - not that that would be too difficult. Anyway, check out the slightly disturbing first trailer here. Updated with embed..

Heidi, a radio station DJ, receives a wooden box containing a record. Heidi listens and the bizarre sounds within the grooves immediately trigger flashbacks of Salem’s violent past. Is Heidi going mad or are the Lords of Salem returning for revenge on modern day Salem?

Loved Zombie's first 2 films, didn't care for his Halloween, absolutely HATED his Halloween II (worst big-budget horror movie I've ever seen, no exaggeration at all) but I'll give this film a chance and let you know if it's any good ;)
Jollem - 10/3/2012, 4:11 PM
dudes a comic book fan. props, yo

ZombieOverEasy - 10/3/2012, 4:14 PM
I've loved everything Rob's done thus far (minus Halloween 2). I'll watch this for sure.
USAgent - 10/3/2012, 4:16 PM

geeekgod - 10/3/2012, 4:28 PM

RorMachine - 10/3/2012, 4:30 PM
SaintSpidey67Re, Zombie is very active in the comic community, is a comic writer, and some of his movies have had comic spin-offs..plus, Lords is a horror movie - that alone gives it more of as right to be covered than Taken 2..I mean what ties it in? The fact that Liam Neeson was in Batman? That's all ya got

Tea, I'm not a Zombie fan..at all! I thought his first Halloween was decent, aside from being an awful remake. But a lot off people that also hate his stuff have praised this so I'm curious.
damntree - 10/3/2012, 5:03 PM
Looks like a CoF video.
SamHell - 10/3/2012, 5:08 PM

Frankie312 - 10/3/2012, 5:17 PM

Wow this clown is so tedious. Everything he does. No thanks.
IIIAdamantiumIII - 10/3/2012, 6:19 PM
before i even watch the trailer I predict there going to star white trash nasty hillbilly dirty redneck trailer park characters who haven't showered or done their laundry for weeks....oh and they will kill people at one point or another.
gaikinger - 10/3/2012, 6:28 PM
One of my favorite albums of all time is White Zombie - Sexy Swingin Sounds.
jessepostal - 10/3/2012, 7:28 PM
^^ the worst white zombie album ever, just listen to astro creep 2000, same album but noooooo annoying remixs:)
DioFoRio - 10/3/2012, 7:31 PM
lol@tea

Taken 3: You just got took
DioFoRio - 10/3/2012, 7:36 PM
white zombie album with highway 65 was a good rock album. el sexcorsisto? that's the only one I heard and liked. As for his flicks -the Halloweens sucked(don't think he understood what made the original Mike scary) Hated house of 1000 corpses. Liked the devils rejects as a revenge 70's flick. All else sucks IMO
DioFoRio - 10/3/2012, 7:42 PM
and lastly , vid aint workin fo me Ror.
Boogie138 - 10/3/2012, 7:52 PM
@jessepostal: dude that disc had some great remixes. annoying? wow lol
DioFoRio - 10/3/2012, 8:35 PM
ever since Facebook, I've had a hard time taking Satan seriously. Decent trailer. Reminded me of a Kubric rip off.
superpooper - 10/3/2012, 8:43 PM
Sorry, I don't see how this man could ever produce a decent film. The few times I've ever given one of his films a chance I've regretted it. As a matter of fact, after walking out of the theatre 30 minutes into House of 1000 dumbasses I have yet to watch one of his movies all the way through. I don't think anyone would argue that his best film was Halloween, which of course is not his original idea. I'd even go so far as to say the ONLY reason we're even talking about Rob Zombie films at all is because of his music career (which is also pretty mediocre imo). If any lesser know or first time director would've came out with that steaming heap of dung that was House of 1000 corpses it would've been the first and last film they ever made (other than home movies). Furthermore, no one cares about your wife except you dude. She's a crappy actress and she's not even hot. Why don't you spring the duckets to get a leading lady who's at least an actress? Seriously. I just can't even take it anymore. Bye.
SFCamerica - 10/3/2012, 9:37 PM
[frick] the regular shrubs??? I'll take their consensus over pretentious douche bag critics any day.
Vital - 10/3/2012, 10:36 PM
SaintSpidey, you're still bringing that shit up lol? Good grief.

Trailer is down btw.
Vital - 10/3/2012, 10:37 PM
@Superpooer, Rob... cannot hear you.
damntree - 10/3/2012, 10:40 PM
@superpooper - Props for saying, "...spring the duckets..." that made me laugh.
DioFoRio - 10/3/2012, 11:23 PM
@Superpooper apparently you can't voice your opinion unless you directly mail it to Rob Zombie Fan club attn Vital
BANNER78 - 10/4/2012, 4:59 AM
Well....1st off we all need to calm down...this is a Zombie project...we have least a good 2 years before we get to see it ourlselves...everything he does has a delay...wheres the "zombie live album tour video" when did zombie live come out and where the hell is the video???
NorrinRaddical - 10/4/2012, 6:37 AM
nope, i am totally down to see this. Zombie has actually continually impressed me, especially with House & Devil's. This trailer is almost cut to look like Argento meets Kubrick.

count me in
ComicBookGoth - 10/4/2012, 7:13 AM
@ZombieOverEasy

also anyone else remember when he was supposidly making t-rex ?

Rob Zombie's movie Tyrannosaurus Rex rolling billboard
EpicMan - 10/4/2012, 8:32 AM
@Ror Are you serious?!?!?

Do you know how many articles you editors make of non CBM movies that happen to star Actors that have been in CBM movies.

come on dude! think before you speak

PapaMidnite - 10/4/2012, 9:20 AM
Looks good! Zombie has style. One of the witch ladies looks like Hillary Clinton! LOL
whatshisname - 10/4/2012, 9:40 AM
ummm the headline of this bothered me. It seems to imply that Rob Zombie is not an accomplished director. The Devils Rejects is one of the most fantastic movies I have ever seen and the first Halloween was a great movie.
ajmathew80 - 10/4/2012, 10:12 AM
ROB ZOMBIE SUCKS AS A DIRECTOR, WRITER, ETC....AND WHEN IS THIS [frick]ING TOOL GONNA LEARN THAT HIS WIFE CANT ACT FOR SHIT AND SHE SUCKS HARDER THAN HE DOES?
FoxForce5 - 10/4/2012, 3:10 PM
Okay folks, it breaks down like this:

"House of 1000 Corpses"
= total (very) campy homage to films like "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" - not bad (though not great) and if you don't know almost every one of the 1000 movies being referenced, it looses a lot of it's fun -bonus points for Chris Hardwick though

"Devil's Rejects"
= a good throw back to real 70's grindhouse style films

"Halloween (2007)"
= okay, though totally unnecessary remake

"The Haunted World of El Superbeasto"
= a fun, anime-style animated film, with checking out by comic book fans

"Halloween 2"
= Zombie's weakest film. Has promise in it's style but is kind of directionless in it's storytelling

As for this, it looks like he's taking a heavy Mario Bava influence, which isn't surprising. I'll definitely give it a shot but, as I usually do, I'll wait to see it before passing judgment.

The only thing that worries me is the mix-up so many people make between linking "Witches" with "Satanism" when, as everyone should know, Witches don't even believe in a Satan, much less worship one.
