"Raúl is one of my top concept designers. The idea with this particular piece was to emulate an old WWII propaganda poster/flyer that went along with the world we were creating. It symbolizes rationing - voluntary work force, no guts, no glory kind of heroism." said Del Toro of the poster and its artist. In addition, it has been announced that a graphic novel penned by the movie's writer Travis Beacham is also in the works, that will serve as a prequel in three parts.

Del Toro will be signing copies at the Legendary Entertainment booth on Friday, October 12 at 2 pm. The art will also be unveiled at the Legendary panel at 5:15 pm.

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes - a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) - who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

This is gonna blow everybody's minds. Trust. This will be bigger than big. Transformers on steroids with a heart. Evangelion stylee.
In Billy Bull we trust.

Seriously, did you hear what Del Toro was saying at ComicCon? There are two pilots per Giant Robot and instead of just having to have a mind/soul/genetics that can jive with the Mecha they also have to heve compatible minds with each other, 'cause they link up psychically through memories and stuff. Sounds like a good cause for trippy, emotional psycho-drama amidst all the big fat action shit.

I would like to see a retro trailer that is set in a propaganda style. That is the mistake the Iron Giant made. The marketing could have been more effective with that style.

This movie has giant monsters fighting giant robots, brought to us by Del Toro and stars Hunnam, Elba and Day(new 'Sunny tonight). For me, this one is right up there with Man of Steel and Iron Man 3 for 2013's most anticipated.

Don't get me wrong guys...But sometimes i don't understand you all.

I'm a huge fan of evangelion and Gundam wing and honestly, this pacific rim filme looks like a HUGE COPY of both!

They couldn't make a evangelion movie (it was canceled remember?),so they came up with this generic copy a la Gundam wing mix?

Also i'm a huge fan of robocop,and they're making a remake...and i loved it!
But what i notice here is many many "fans" of robocop are posting coments about paficif rim would be a epic movie and blablablabla...YEAH i agreed! it's' a huge homage to the japanese masterpieces..i get it...but [frick], we all know it looks like evangelion or even more like gundam wing DAMN COPY...

And people came up throwing stupid comments sayng robocop visual is a copy of many things...
i also saw in a article about iron man 3 people saying the new armor looks like a dead space armor..and i agreed! but just because iron man is the character of the moment people just don't' care if he look like another character or like barbie!

i liked iron man 3 armor and pacific rim robots...and also the NEW robocop...c'mom people..let's be more "open mind" and less hipocratic

:D
