VIDEO: SKYFALL Opening Title Sequence Released

I may not be a huge Bond fan, but I have always loved those surreal opening credits, and I think this one is my favorite yet. Check out Daniel Kleinman's awesome opening titles to Sam Mendes' 23rd James Bond flick, featuring the equally impressive theme-song from Adele..

Daniel Craig is back as James Bond 007 in Skyfall, the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time. In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

Skyfall is out now, and if you haven't seen it yet I recommend you do - it's almost as good as everyone says it is!

one of my favorite bond openings, and probably my favorite bond film
scarecrow007 - 11/14/2012, 2:12 PM

a cool sequence for a cool movie. Not my favorite nor is it the best Bond film...but it is well done.
stevebrt - 11/14/2012, 2:17 PM
I like it ,really goes well with the movie , but my favourite Bond opening is Casino Royale's
Rowsdower - 11/14/2012, 2:18 PM
Finally brought the naked ladies back.
jimpinto24 - 11/14/2012, 2:18 PM
Great opening! Easily Skyfall is the best Bond film of all time!
AnotherSinisterClone - 11/14/2012, 2:21 PM
funny how it gives away every scene of the movie. i thought it was the weakest of the new bond movies. i would have rather a proper ending for the group Quantum
SteveRogersSon - 11/14/2012, 2:30 PM
Really the BEST???? there's some stiff competition for that statement jimpinto24....but that's if you're over the age of 16.
Hero020200 - 11/14/2012, 2:43 PM
@SteveRogerSon I'm only 12 and I don't think it's as good as people have said.
It kind of ruined the whole concept to me. My favorite Bond movie's such as Goldfinger are in my top 5 best Bond flicks, whereas Skyfall doesn't even reach my top 15!
SuspenseSmith - 11/14/2012, 2:44 PM
Best opening. hard to argue best Bond film though...

Felt very much like a hybrid between Casino Royale and a Sean Connery film.
SuspenseSmith - 11/14/2012, 2:48 PM
I think Bond goes through the biggest arc in this one. It really dives into his backstory and his relationship to M.

I think before Craig, M was just the a-hole that gave Bond assignments and would lay down the red tape, stopping Bond from doing his job.

This one made M very much a mother figure to Bond.

Skyfall humanized a lot of elements that almost no other Bond film has done. If that's what you like from Bond, then this could be the best. But if you like the girls, guns, and gadgets more than this definitely falls short of the traditional Bond formula.

Like everything, it comes down to taste. Best is a matter of opinion. There is no wrong answer.
SuspenseSmith - 11/14/2012, 2:51 PM
I think GoldenEye is the best bond that follows all the traditional elements, On Her Majesty's Secret Service was the most interest until Skyfall with the marriage and everything. Casino Royale was just fun as hell while pretty much breaking every tradition established. License to Kill felt like the darkest to me which was interesting. The World is Not Enough had really good Bond girls and villains.

But Die Another Day is probably the worst I've ever seen. Period. The only redeeming part was the sword fight.

Hmm some very nice shots but as a whole felt very low on energy for a Bond opening...
ArtisticErotic - 11/14/2012, 3:07 PM
Best Bond Opening for sure.
Morbius - 11/14/2012, 3:15 PM
My favorite Bond Opening and Movie EVER!!!!!!
Brady1138 - 11/14/2012, 4:03 PM
I'm not the one to always say the newest movie is the best, but this just may be the best Bond yet!
Jollem - 11/14/2012, 4:12 PM
not the biggest bond fan

the beginning to and opening title sequence to casino royale blew me away

skyfall was good, but it left me with an itch that i thought was gonna be scratched at some point

Everyone saying that the Quantum plot needed to be tied up needs to recall the fact that SPECTRE weaved in and out of the Connery movies. The same can be done with Quantum. Think of Goldfinger amidst the other Connery films. After the events of QoS it makes sense that Quantum would lie low for a while.

Skyfall was a great Bond film that deviated from the the previous two entries in many respects. That being said, I think it did so quite successfully. Was it perfect? No. But it did feel very similar to some of Connery era fims, and I really enjoyed that.

This is my favorite Bond intro for sure. Goldeneye and Die Another Day weren't bad either. I was always partial to the opening of You Only Live Twice.
Jolt17 - 11/14/2012, 6:05 PM
Oh, yeeeessssssss.
SuspenseSmith - 11/14/2012, 6:27 PM
Blofeld needs to be re-introduced. I was hoping that Ralphy in this movie would be, but... spoilers....

He's not Blofeld.
ShadesAtKnightII - 11/14/2012, 6:38 PM
Brilliant!
BeanzReilly - 11/14/2012, 6:53 PM
Casino Royale still has the best opening for me cause it was just so creative, this one just threw random imagery at the screen that pertained to the film it felt lazy, overall great film though loved it.
Jolt17 - 11/14/2012, 7:09 PM
I still can't decide between this, or Casino Royale - both are tied as my favorite Bond openings, I guess! The latter has more plus points for the awesome gun barrel(-ish) transition, though.
fettastic - 11/14/2012, 8:17 PM
A really beautiful, classy, old-school title sequence.
hope420 - 11/14/2012, 8:21 PM
Cool visuals I'm just not digging the song.
mgeoff88 - 11/14/2012, 9:10 PM
That was so much better than the QOS opening! Their was a lot of creativity in this.

Definitely more akin to the opening titles of the older Bond films.
NostalgicYouth - 11/14/2012, 10:07 PM
To all the people complaining about the song and the opening title to Skyfall, to me this was way better then Casino Royale's opening title sequence; But hey that's just me. I love Adele's voice in this, and I don't even listen to her music or care for it; to me it is reminiscent to the classic James Bond Opening title songs, and I also liked how obscure and dramatic the visual were mixed with a bit of original James bond glare to it.

So yeah. I prefer this opening title then the Casino Royale one any day.

Loved this opening !!

Great opening to what may be my favorite Bond movie ever. I'd have to go back and re-watch some of the old Connery ones to say for sure.
