Ever since Corey Feldman (Lost Boys, The Goonies) voiced purple bandanna wearing Turtle Donatello in the original TMNT movie, the various incarnations of the character since seem to have taken some inspiration from him. Some of the other actors from the original movies have expressed their displeasure at the direction the Michael Bay produced reboot is taking, but Feldman has remained a staunch supporter. A lot of fans seem to want him back in the role too, and now in an interview with Movieweb, the former Frog brother reveals that he has been in contact with Bay - not necessarily about returning, but it sounds like it was at least discussed..

"..I will say this much. Michael Bay and I have become social acquaintances. We have traded cell phone numbers. We have been in communication. I have let him know that I support the project. He has let me know that he is a fan of my work. Its kind of...We are communicating. I wouldn't say there has been a formal offer, or anything like that. Its not even really going to be Michael Bay's decision. It's going to be the director of the film's decision."

Feldman goes on to once again praise the new vision for the movie, Bay's "tried and tested" formula for success, suggesting that fans should trust him to deliver once again with Ninja Turtles. One problem there Corey, financially successful Bay's films may be, but it's the QUALITY of this movie fans are worried about. Still, I guess we can take comfort in the fact that Bay won't be directing, that'll be Jonathan Liebsman!! Yeah, adjust your expectations accordingly Turtle fans. PeterParker1991 - 11/21/2012, 6:34 PM
Nice. Still wish Michael Bay would stay away from TMNT
MarkJulian - 11/21/2012, 6:35 PM
Forgot about that movie. Never seen it all the way through.
DEATHbyEXILE - 11/21/2012, 6:42 PM

Hellsboy - 11/21/2012, 6:43 PM
im never going to see this movie but that artwork next to feldman is undeniably bad ass.(too bad its not concept art)
BANE5000 - 11/21/2012, 6:47 PM

Greengo - 11/21/2012, 6:57 PM
Cluster [frick].
Greengo - 11/21/2012, 6:57 PM
In a bad way.
aztecRaingod - 11/21/2012, 6:57 PM
Why not? Dude could use a break from his job at seven eleven.
maxxgone - 11/21/2012, 7:03 PM
first off i LOATHE that artwork and the other one of the four turtles that looks similar. that style is too tortoise-like & i [frick]ing can't stand it & pray that they model the gang after the early image comics or at least what we got from 2007's TMNT film. that snout drives me crazy, please don't let it look like that above pic!

second, i don't mind feldman coming back for donatello at all - AS LONG AS he is not portrayed as a goofball. don should be a serious geek or something like that. intelligent, thoughtful, maybe even a little withdrawn due to being lost in his thoughts or just deep in contemplation. a tortured genius of sorts. he can be close with mike, but for gods sakes i don't want any [frick]ing fart jokes between the two. the way they leave him at the end of the 'city at war' storyline is perfection.
Grievo - 11/21/2012, 7:03 PM
YES. Dude just sounds like a Ninja Turtle. 1st movie is still maybe the greatest superhero film ever.
Greengo - 11/21/2012, 7:04 PM
As for the part wouldn't mind him getting it. Not one bit.
santoanderson - 11/21/2012, 7:06 PM
I always wondered why Donatello sounded like an 80's burnout child star with a coke problem...
Jlocklin - 11/21/2012, 7:50 PM
Definitely not dead. That was his buddy and child co-star Cory Haim. Always loved his Donny.
Bark4Soul - 11/21/2012, 8:02 PM
Fire Bay, hire Feldman...I liked the voices from the old live action films
jessepostal - 11/21/2012, 9:33 PM
i hope we get practical suits and there not cgi! Jim Henson is gonna be spinning in his grave!
SpoonWielder - 11/21/2012, 9:39 PM
I really hope this happens, Feldman has always been Donatello for me. I really liked his portrayal of him, I liked how it wasn't just Mikey cracking jokes.
raymondjordan34 - 11/21/2012, 9:51 PM
I want Josh Pais back as Raph.
jingorot - 11/21/2012, 10:08 PM
the artwork next to feldman looks crap. i hope bay doesn't make them all 'gritty' looking and shit. that's not what the turtles are.
HeadPool420 - 11/21/2012, 10:36 PM
I always thought Feldman would be the one to die early not Haim.
CoulsonLives - 11/21/2012, 10:51 PM
Funny that the Turtles don't kill using their weapons on tv XD
CoulsonLives - 11/21/2012, 10:54 PM
Donny and Raph are my favorite ones.
baszs - 11/22/2012, 12:26 AM
Former Frog brother, Duuude!
sameoldthing - 11/22/2012, 4:58 AM
Screw him,he's has a terrible voice & zero talent.
He tried to be vocalist in a band & what i heard made my ears bleed.

Use the guy voicing Donnie on the current tv show,he sounds cool & that show is fantastic.
Rowsdower - 11/22/2012, 6:45 AM
Feldman is Donatello.
blackster - 11/22/2012, 7:57 AM
yeah, this isn't saving anything.
vxMaverickxv - 11/22/2012, 7:58 AM
please michael bay...stop raping my childhood for your own financial gains.
Optimus83 - 11/22/2012, 8:29 AM
original Ninja Turtles Back!. ...equal to Transformers of Michael Bay (Peter Cullen)¡¡¡GOOD!!!
Bojac - 11/22/2012, 9:07 AM
He was the definitive Donatello voice for me.
iuhgluiblbjjkhkjhkljh - 11/22/2012, 10:56 AM
As long as they aren't killing vampires.
CaptainObvious - 11/22/2012, 11:00 AM
Battle:LA was as boring as the day is long and Darkness Falls was anti-climatic and incredibly stupid. Liebsman will not make a good Ninja Turtles movie.
MIDAS - 11/22/2012, 11:47 AM
Pizza dude's got 30 seconds!
SuperSpiderMan5778 - 11/22/2012, 1:22 PM
fawk yeah he should return
Tomontherun99 - 11/22/2012, 1:46 PM
@jingorot Yeah, the turtles were never gritty... except for the incredibly dark comic book series the whole franchise is based off
AxlKomix - 11/22/2012, 2:46 PM
The teaser photo isn't even the version of Donatello that Feldman voiced. Feldman left for the second film and came back for the third.
D117 - 11/22/2012, 10:09 PM
Liebesman made Wrath of the Titans which was garbage, doubt this Ninja Turtles will be any good but we'll see.
jingorot - 11/23/2012, 10:16 AM
@Tomontherun99

shit argument.

most people don't even know that the comics exist. just here, almost every time news of the turtles is posted, people whine that they aren't comic book characters.

i'll let that fact do all the talking.
brokenexcitement - 11/23/2012, 10:48 AM
@jingorot

Just because people don't know the original comic series exists doesn't mean it doesn't matter. That's like saying people don't know that Superman is actually an alien from another planet, can fly, or is actually Clark Kent. ALL of those three things matter for Superman because that is who he is and is his origin. The turtles have an origin that is based on the comics and was warped to sell toys in the 80s by turning it in to a child-friendly cartoon. The same was done with G.I. Joe, Transformers, Thundercats, and virtually every other cartoon series from the 80s and 90s. The origin, and I use that term loosely, that most people know is from that cartoon they grew up with. It's not a true origin or back story that is what the original turtles were based on. The comics should be what the new movie should be based on, not some campy cartoon made to sell toys.
