Zachary Levi On Stepping Into The Role Of Fandral In THOR: THE DARK WORLD

When the part of Fandral 'The Dashing' in the upcoming sequel to Thor was vacated by Josh Dallas, Chuck's Zac levi - sporting dyed blond locks - stepped in to fill the void. In the following interview with UK E Online the actor talks about being a bit "trepidatious" about it..

Lets be honest here, Josh Dallas wasn't particularly memorable as Fandral in Thor. That's not necessarily a knock on the actor, but none of the 'Warriors Three' had a lot to do/say in the film. Anyway, the point is, it didn't seem to bother too many people when the actor had to vacate the role for the sequel, and fans seemed quite happy with his replacement too. But how did Levi - who is best know for playing Chuck Bartowski in the hit tv series Chuck - feel about it? "Josh Dallas played the role I'm playing, Fandral the Dashing, in the first film," Levi tells E UK Online. "I was a little trepidatious about stepping into that because someone had already done it. But everyone's embraced me wholeheartedly and been very cool. We shoot in London. I've spent more time there in the last five months than anywhere else. It's been an incredible adventure." Levi also gushed about working with "rock star" Chris Henmsworth, and promises the ladies will have something to drool over at the very least. "I can say there will not be any lack of eye candy," he said. "Aside from me! I'm not even talking about me. I've talking about Chris and Tom [Hiddleston] and everybody else. You'll be pleasantly surprised and happy."

I'm glad Marvel casted Zachary Levi as Fandral The Dashing, because he looks exactly like him.

I always thought if Fandral like a Prof. Gilderoy Lockhart type character from Harry Potter. Fro some reason. Which is funny cause he was played by Kenneth Branaugh.

Aah,Jon Micheal Thor! Part of his stage act was ripping phone books in half and bending metal bars with his hands.

Think there are some youtube videos of him playing on the old Uncle Floyd Show...

@ drax94 - lets not forget that had Levi's schedule not conflicted with Chuck he would have been Fandral in 'Thor'...

I agree with Ror the warriors 3 roles in 'Thor' weren't memorable enough for this to make an impact...hopefully this time around we will see more of them...

Mathew Modine had the balls to insult shit. Thats just hilarious. He's a huge dick, but at least he doesn't lie and try to say there is no competition between marvel and dc.

He was honored to be a part of TDKR. An avengers film is an equivalent to one of Nolan's films, not any solo film.

That's very cool that Zachary Levi is officially part of the MCU now. I can't wait to see some set pics of Fandral.

He was actually Marvel's first choice to play the character.

@thewonderer You're joking right? Matthew Modine is an asshole. Plain and simple. What you're saying doesn't justify him acting like a douchebag when he was promoting TDKR.

Zachary Levi is actually an awesome guy who knows the source material; he's a huge comic book fan. That's why he's excited.

It's comments like that make people troll Nolan/Batman articles. You're just adding fuel to the fire.

I still think that it's a shame for Dallas to leave the role, since he's shown how good an actor he is through Once Upon a Time. Nonetheless, I do have my faith in Levy.

I like Zachary Levi and everything, but seriously, WTF? I thought everyone cast in Thor was perfect. It's James Rhodes in Iron Man 2 all over again which, in my opinion, was a terrible choice for a recast.
