Klingons Confirmed For STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS; Alice Eve's Role Revealed

It seems it won't only be 'John Harrison' giving the crew of The Enterprise headaches in J.J. Abrams' upcoming sequel, as perhaps the most iconic Star Trek villains in history, The Klingons, have been spotted in new footage from the movie..

As the internet goes space-crazy over all of the lovely Star Trek Into Darkness footage and info over the last few days, we have even more news on J.J. Abrams' highly anticipated sci-fi follow up. More new footage was screened today for a select few at the Bad Robot Avid Post Production Webinar, and it turns out those rumors of Klingons on the starboard bow were true after all..

SHH's Silas Lesnick Tweeted the following..

This should make Trekkies pretty happy. The Klingons were allies of Starfleet in the later Star Trek series, but the early incarnations served as the show's/movie's primary antagonists. Hopefully we'll find out a bit more about their appearance in Star Trek Into Darkness as more info on the footage leaks.

Also, Frosty from Collider just Tweeted this..

That would be Dr. Carol Marcus, as in Kirk's love interest and Mother to his son David - at least in the old continuity. She also created 'Project Genesis', the scientific breakthrough responsible for bringing Spock back to life after his sacrifice to save the Enterprise from Khan in Star Trek 2. Hmmmm.

Sweet. Finally going to see some Klingon action!
continuezero - 12/10/2012, 3:23 PM
Awesome to hear. I wonder how this new lineage will affect later Trek. Hopefully they do a TNG series after this series is put aside. I would imagine with the Enterprise's future now being altered it will have an impact on future Enterprises. I would be interested in a new TNG crew.
LP4 - 12/10/2012, 3:28 PM
Wait she is playing CAROL MARCUS????

Holy shit 0_0 this changes everything...so he IS Khan then
continuezero - 12/10/2012, 3:30 PM
Also interesting that Alice Eve is Carol Marcus and not Elizabeth Dehner. So strange that she looks so much like Dehner. Just went back to watch "Where no man has gone before" as a refesher. Looks like the Khan rumours are going to start up again.

So with this revelation we are back to square [frick]ing one. He's still either Gary Mitchell or Khan. You know what, [frick] this. I'm tired of all the damn secrecy.
ZombieOverEasy - 12/10/2012, 3:43 PM
Quote/Who said it/picture all wrong...love it.
Scooby - 12/10/2012, 3:44 PM
Wait what? Carol Marcus . . . ugh, well, Marcus only appeared in wrath of Khan. So this could where Kirk gets her pregnant in this continuity . . . I am so confused, back to school work :)
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 12/10/2012, 3:44 PM
I like this one more:

Funsize - 12/10/2012, 3:47 PM
Confirmation news are the best!!!!
LP4 - 12/10/2012, 3:51 PM
Shoulda been Dr. Dehner.

Now if only we could get confirmation on who Cumberbatch is playing. Odd how all the hints seem to just point solely at Khan AND Gary. This is just strange.

I just want to know who the [frick] Cumberbatch is in the movie, eventually we will find out...

polarkyle - 12/10/2012, 3:51 PM
I thought Alice might play christine chapel. Now that her true role has been revealed doesn't it kind off spoil the ending
Durf - 12/10/2012, 3:51 PM
@gambitch: lol, on both posts
SuperDan89 - 12/10/2012, 3:53 PM
I think all the leaked info is just disinformation
Wildaniel - 12/10/2012, 4:00 PM
Man I gotta catch up on Star Trek the original series. I know I have a bunch of it on VHS, lol.
Screwger - 12/10/2012, 4:02 PM
WOOOW!!!! WHAT A SURPRISE!!! Klingons! .... Before they announce that we already saw the Klingon on that MTV J.J.ABRAMS picture and in Da Trailer. So, I guess everyone is surprised by that "news".

OMG....I still hope you die, Carol :)
DrRockso - 12/10/2012, 4:13 PM
Welp that must mean Cumberbatch is a Chitauri
themcdougalbugle - 12/10/2012, 4:15 PM
Spoiler: Kirk licks Frost Glacier Freeze Gatorade powder off her *****.

MARVELPSYCHO79 - 12/10/2012, 4:21 PM
I said it last week that Alice Eve was Carol!!!I knew it!!!!
bonesmcgee - 12/10/2012, 4:25 PM
I think Khan might be in the film, but it won't be Benedict.
titansupes - 12/10/2012, 4:30 PM
S looks way to much like Dehner, to me. I'm thinking this is (more) misdirection on Abram's part. Cumberpatch will be Mitchell.
mattboesch8907 - 12/10/2012, 4:45 PM
So Alice is playing Carol. Very Cool!
Luminus - 12/10/2012, 4:50 PM
Wow, this article is late. I've already pointed out that there was a Klingon in the trailer being attacked by Cumberbach's character.
caveman - 12/10/2012, 4:52 PM
Klingon women.. Not exactly a Xena Warrior Princess but what the hell
maxxgone - 12/10/2012, 5:03 PM
i'm starting to wonder about that theory of JJ combining kahn & mitchell somehow. you guys think he's doing that with a few storylines/characters?
j0hnb1aze - 12/10/2012, 5:13 PM
So now we know every detail of the first 9 minutes. I’m assuming the other 110 will have Kirk falling for Boobs McGee (great vid Scooby), Spock will die, but be brought back, and team Star Trek will be defeat the Klingons lead by Khan..err John Harrison.

You all should give me $3 since I just saved you at least $10.

Who am I kidding, I would go to this movie even if I had read the script (and I’ve never been a Trek fan. 1st one was just bad@ss)
TheAbomination - 12/10/2012, 5:16 PM
10 bucks says she's hooking up with Kirk.
Optimus83 - 12/10/2012, 6:43 PM
Alice Eve is not a Klingon. ...¡¡¡Good!!!, Please Married Me Mamasita Rica
LP4 - 12/10/2012, 7:21 PM
@TheAbomination- Um...duh?

Anyway, her being Carol doesnt confirm Cumberbatchis Khan. But i admit it does make things a bit more complicated now
Ceejay - 12/10/2012, 7:52 PM
Khan or "Khan Noonien Singh" was supposed to be Asian, there were no accessible Indian actors back in the 60's so they got Ricardo Monatalban because as a Latino he looked the closest. If Cumberbatch is supposed to be Khan then they're way off the mark again like everything else in this dumb reboot.

mgeoff88 - 12/10/2012, 8:20 PM
Wow, they're throwing in Klingons? This movie is getting better and better! I hope we get a Worf reference.
LP4 - 12/10/2012, 8:23 PM
@Ceejay- Dude you're missing the point here. We KNOW who Khan is and what is race is supposed to be. I'd like to think most of us here grew up with Star Trek. Admittedly I was more of a Next Generation/Enterprise fan but I loved the classic stuff too from TOS. VOY and DS9 meh.

My point is, you don't need to teach any of us about Star Trek. We're not complaining about the race of the character, what we're complaining about here is the fact that Khan already had a damn movie. Sure it was like 20 years ago but look at Gary Mitchell. A character who's been shelved for over 40 years, never had a movie. It just doesn't seem fair to keep him shelved and bring back Khan instead, it just reeks of lazy writing IMHO. It's like they're thinking "Ohhhh we're all out of ideas, so [frick] it, let's just bring back Khan because he's the SAFE bet" ya know? It's really [frick]ing lazy on their part to fall back on the "safe" character.

Plus they made us wait for 4 [frick]ing years only to rehash the same [frick]ing guy. It pisses me off. And now they are acting all "super-secretive", i just wanna slap Orci and Abrams and say "hey dipshits, we've known it was Khan all year long, stop playing dumb with us and just say it's Khan already for [frick]'s sake"

Idk, this just seems like a lazy, lazy approach to what could have possibly been a new, UNIQUE direction for Star Trek.
LP4 - 12/10/2012, 8:29 PM
@mgeoff- Worf was [frick]ing awesome! Easily my fav character from Next Generation.

Well him and Data anyway. Always loved the oddballs

And them falling back on Khan seems just as lazy as Snyder and Nolan falling back on General Zod for Man of Steel.

That's what is turning me off about these films. They are going with "safe bets"

They need to grow a pair and start standing on their own.

@Ceejay- I read Khan Ruling in Hell last year. It was a great book. I loved how it bridged the gap between "Space Seed" and "TWOK" and it showed how McGiver died and just what Khan had to go through. That's my point. Khan had his ENTIRE story told through the original series- "Space Seed" the MOVIE "Wrath of Khan" and even the COMIC BOOKS "Khan Ruling in Hell"

Therefore there is no need to go back to Khan to tell more of his story. He had the t.v shows, the movie and the comics. That's enough.
Shadowelfz - 12/10/2012, 8:48 PM
Awesome! Great news! I love what they're doing with Klingons!
continuezero - 12/10/2012, 9:00 PM
There's a pretty decent gap between TOS and TNG, don't think there are gonna be any Worf references.
riseofLOGANX36 - 12/10/2012, 9:03 PM
Fail! If this takes place when Kirk was younger the klingons never had the ridges. This is just another atempt of a shitty remake screwing everything up.

What they have to do is make a star trek movie kirk and picard and stop makeing these crapy shitty remakes. Or nothing at all!!!!

UNTIL next time TRUE BELIEVERS!
LP4 - 12/10/2012, 9:04 PM
^Yeah, a couple hundred years. But it's a new timeline so...anything goes. Who knows what Worf is like in this new timeline, he could have been born a lot sooner.

But yeah i agree with you, I think mgeoff may have gotten a bit too ahead of himself there lol ;P
LP4 - 12/10/2012, 9:06 PM
@riseofLOGAN- Yeah it wasn't till after Kirk's time the Klingons got infected with a disease that gave them the ridges...at least to my memory anyway.

But again...NEW timeline. Anything goes in this. If they can make Khan into a pasty, white British guy who is a member of Starfleet. Then they can do almost anything here.
