In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

The Man Of Steel trailer looks better than Suoerman Return. (Not that I'm a hater of Superman Returns)

THat's definitely Superman's mother on Krypton. You can tell by the long curly hair from that shot and the shot of her with Jor-El. Idk why some people thought it was Faora.

Sweet! Amy Adams is hot! Cavill IS Superman. Not a huge Snyder's fan, but i think this movie has potential to be amazing.

Decent trailer but not enough action shots. Hopefully they didn't show us all the shots in the trailer. That'd be disappointing.

Yep we gonna watch him grow up again. We will see character development and see why he is the man he is today. That is the purpose of a reboot is it? to reintroduce the character and at the same time tell a different story than what we have seen before.

Still hoping Gina Carano will be WW. Really like RG for AM. AH for BM is solid as is RP for Flash. Just watched original SM the other day and still just love love Brando as Jorell and the crystalline ambience of Krypron. RC has some big shoes to fill but could'nt imagine a better choice. Wow and Costner as POPS Kent....just epic casting. Hope it delivers the epic scope it looks like it will.

Why the [frick] would they introduce the character that kills Superman in the first movie anyway? Shit this is like Superman Begins for [frick]'s sake...They can save Doomsday's ass for a sequel.

This movie looks incredible so far. I cannot wait to see it and we deserve some new villains in the sequels. Aside from Batman, Superman has the most interesting and varied villains to battle. Let's see some of them in the next movie. With that being said, I am almost as excited to this as I was for TDKR!!! Henry FTW!

Looks awesome. Only problem is...this looks like it could either be a modern Donner Superman in impact or even worse than Superman Returns.

@poop23 In the comics he used a fragment of his ship that brought him to Earth. Dean Caine's Superman used his heat vision reflected off a mirror.

When Supes takes off it is almost as if he is pulled upwards rather than pushing upwards, wonder if, when do research for the movie, they created a new "scientific" explanation for Superman's flight.

Also, I think the dialogue about "the worlds too big" is him as a child coping with super hearing and ma Kent teaching him to focus on a single sound.

Although for me his super hearing has never meant literally using his ears to hear everything. I have always felt Superman has almost a psychic type link to all intelligent life forms of Earth, which is interpreted as super hearing.

He can still hear many miles away, but when listening to the world as felt it was more a mental thing.
