First Official (Low-Res) Look At Tom Hardy As Mad Max In FURY ROAD

A signed snap of the TDKR actor in character as "Mad" Max Rockatansky has found its way online. It's a little blurry, but aside from a few obscured set pics it is our first official glimpse of Hardy from George Miller's upcoming Mad Max flick, Fury Road

Warner Bros. has confirmed that thsi is indeed from Mad Max: Fury Road



Hardy joins Charlize Theron, Nathan Jones, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Megan Gale.

“Mad Max Fury Road” sees Mad Max (Hardy) caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by the imperator Furiosa (Theron). A battle erupts on the road in front of them over the course of the film as they attempt to push the rig to safer terrain.

I saw this over at AICN an hour or so ago. My first reaction is "That's not Mad Max".

It's too hard to tell from this pic though. He's got an ammo belt or something on and some sort of scarf. He's also really dirty. Perhaps he just went through a sand storm?

I was really against Hardy when I first heard he was cast, but now I think they went the right way and he will be a badass Max.

I like the advert in the pic with the Fiat 500 lol....I had to do a double take to make sure that wasn't the car used in the movie :)

I think all of this backlash for mad max is foolish, I think mad max could be a character like James Bond, in which different actors could play the character to continue the franchise.

Anyway, was too young to see the old 'Mad Max' films and haven't got round to it, but if this is a reboot/requel I guess it'd be a good jumping on point... Hardy's a top notch actor, so it's got my interest...

I'm a huge Mad Max fan. I cannot wait for this. Hardy is going to own this, just like he did Inception, TDKR, Bronson, and Lawless.

So it's a stand-alone adventure.

I like the look. He won't look like Mel, so why bother? Clean leather is hard to come by in the future. Duh.

Road Warrior is one of the most badass movies ever made. :)

if this is real then this is freaking awesome! Road Warrior is absolutely one of my favorite films of all time and i've been waiting for a modern reboot and sequel for a long time. Road Warrior is what made me fall in love with the post-apocalyptic setting and led me to write my own story. I really can't wait for this movie!!!

Looks like Mad Max to me... Would be nice if Gibson played older Max, looking back on what Hardy was doing as his younger self. It would be cool if they did that with Conan too, with Momoa and Arnold.

jessepostal@ In my opinion... Humungus would snap Fenders neck like a straw. In the same style he put his mad dog Wez in sleep. And Wez has faced Arnie in Commando and survived pretty long time in a fight with him.
