UPDATE: First Trailer For RED 2 Hits

Red 2 has a new director in the form of Dean Parisot (Justified), and in addition to the returning cast members, adds Anthony Hopkins (Thor), Neal McDonough (Captain America: The First Avenger), Byung-hun Lee (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) and David Thewlis (Harry Potter/Naked).

The sequel to the action-comedy hit RED, which reunites our team of retired CIA operatives as they use their old-school style to take on a new set of enemies all across Europe.


Red 2 will be with us August 2nd, 2013.

Cool I look forward to this one I enjoyed the first one.Films based on DC Comics characters have so many Academy Award Winning actors in them even dating back to Superman the movie & we saw many in the cast of TDKR and will see also in MOS. Red & Red 2 has some also, great cast!

I'm still not convinced that a sequel is actually necessary, but I'll watch it anyway - it looks pretty damn fun as its predecessor, while the additions to the cast have a big potential to make it even better! I sure hope John Malkovich will play baseball with a grenade again this time, and...

Heh... that was a fun trailer. Looking forward to this one!

I do have to wonder, though, is it a coincidence that the first DC property aside from Batman to get a sequel in decades is put out by a studio other than Warner Bros? I still have to laugh that WB passed on the first one multiple times and allowed it to go to a different studio, even after the stellar cast was attached, while they stayed gung ho about "Jonah Hex"'s box office prospects.
