Relative of David Goyer Spills Superman Tidbits from Family Christmas Gathering
Hi CBM! I have just found out some little tibits of information over the festive holidays. I am a relative in law of David Goyer and asked him about his up and coming projects and stuff over Christmas.
(We don't really get on but I know he is a big hollywood writer and stuff so is the only thing I talk about with him because he doesn't follow English Football). Well he was telling me about working with Chris Nolan on Batman and then starting rambling about how when they were stuck, he started getting visions for a story about Superman instead and began taking notes and stuff before telling Chris. Chris liked it and they took a 2 month hiatus on Batman to write up a treatment before going back to Batman in which time, Chris pitched it to WB and they loved it etc and it ended up gettin them to write a full story and screenplay.
Anyway, me knowing a bit about Superman asked him about the story. He didn't say too much only that it is a "younger Superman aged 25, Lex Luthor is in it, Brainiac comes to Earth and challenges every part of Superman and holds the answer to his past that Superman needs to move on with his life because he stuck not knowing his purpose with all of his powers being afraid of losing his own life if he deicdes to save the world, bringing the film round full circle." (those are his exact words which I will remember forever because it sounds way better than the Chris Reeve Superman) He says he has written 3 drafts of Screenplay for the film in 2010 and that Jonathan Nolan, Christopher Nolan's brother will re-write his latest draft before handing it in to WB.
