Two International Billboards For THE AVENGERS Spotted Featuring Previously-Seen Promo Art

It seems that Disney and Marvel are already revealing The Avengers marketing internationally, and now two billboards have been spotted featuring Captain America and Hakweye. Check it out...

Continuing the epic big-screen adventures started in "Iron Man," "The Incredible Hulk," "Iron Man 2," "Thor," and "Captain America: The First Avenger," "Marvel’s The Avengers" is the super hero team up of a lifetime. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster.


They might be recycling old artwork but they sure are pretty! Only Captain America and Hawkeye so far but apparently there are ones for Hulk and Thor too!

Eh, they're ok. But they should really stop using that pic of Cap if that's not what the suit is going to look like. People will be a little disappointed with Cap's look when they see this...

Previously-seen Promo Art? Why is this news then? Why did I even click on this story thinking I was going to see something that I haven't.

Tell you what...write a story that in ten minutes can be easily be debunked and I will read that too.

Ok, I've been seeing some nolanite [frick] faces around here pposting pics of Cap's helmet/mask, I think he will mainly wear a cowl, but during that quinjet scene in the trailer, he'll use that helmet, just a guess, or maybe Joss is cleaning it up and making it look like cloth instead of a helmet.

You can't really be that upset. It is not different than the same people that post Bane pictures over and over again on TDKR threads. It's all in good fun, both movies will be good, and unfinished spy pics rarely look good regardless of the film. Perhaps Cap's hairmet won't look so silly on screen. The way I see it, is they nailed all the costumes perfectly. Save for whatever that is on Cap's head in those spy pics. They can always CGI it later.

More weak drawings. Did Someone at Marvel break the heart of Canon and Nikons daughters? Why don't they use film. It's just cheap I don't get it. These are badass characters that would look obviously better real.

@JDUKE25 yeah we will be getting that cap with the ears out but also at somepoint in the movie we will get that cheesy helmet with the earmuffs he will have 3 looks one. with hard cheesy helmet , two. with cowl mask ears out, and three. without anything

i always assumed that they would make it caps cowl look like the promo art in post production. i mean, in the trailer when he's not wearing it and talking to Stark it looks like he has a hoodie on and he'll just flip the mask on. probably make it fit like a spider-man mask or something.

Umm...it is a comic book movie, so I am thrilled to see it being marketed as a comic book movie. It's pretty smart marketing as far as I am concerned. It will help sell merchandise, comic books, animated works, and whatever else the want to promote.

Their using the toy box art? Looks kinda mehpic with the plain white backdrop. Oh well, it's exciting in the overall scheme of things that it's starting to ramp up public promotions.

I'm not sure why people are so upset at seeing the same pictures. Fine, we're all a little impatient because we want to see it so badly. BUt it's great to see them out of the blocks so early with the promotion. There's a whole world of people out there who've never heard of these characters.

This is the start of the, no doubt, massive promotional flood.

Tea@ I guess there aren't many marketing experts frequenting the forums here. :-P

gambel@ They are using the REAL actor photos and making them look like comic book characters. Isn't that what making a comic book movie should be about? Blend the comic book character and real actor together to come to life on the big screen? I love it. Bring the comic book to life on a billboard so that people relate the character to the actual actor at the same time making them look like they came straight from a comic book page. It's not that difficult to understand.
