While this video isn't really comic book related, it's pretty gosh dang awesome, as two of your favorite motion capture characters are brought to life by the man behind the voices himself, Andy Serkis. If you're happy about this, don't forget, this guy's gonna be in Star Wars: Episode VII.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let Me In), from a screenplay written by Mark Bomback, Scott Z. Burns, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. The cast includes: Andy Serkis (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey), Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty, Public Enemies, The Great Gatsby), Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises, The Harry Potter film series), Keri Russell (The Americans, Mission Impossible III), Toby Kebbell (The Prince of Persia, Wrath of the Titans, Rock N Rolla), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Let Me In, ParaNorman), Enrique Murciano (Traffic, Black Hawk Down), Kirk Acevedo (The Thin Red Line) and Judy Greer (The Descendants, Three Kings, 13 Going on 30). The film climbs into theaters July 11, 2014.

He's a good actor but let's face facts. Any one can make voices and say words. That's all he's really doing in this clip. The real work is done with the tracking dots on his face. His ability to express emotion through motion capture is unmatched. He is a true pioneer of Hollywood. He took a gimmick job and turned it into something extraordinary.

AlexanderLykins - 6/26/2014, 9:00 AM
If anything he'd make for a very good schizophrenic.

andy's been great in pretty much everything he's done. i'm sorry that he's never been in a marvel studios movie
AlexanderLykins - 6/26/2014, 9:05 AM
@DeusExSponge
Can you find something that isn't motion capture? That is what I base acting talent on. Listen, I'm not saying he's not a good actor. I'm saying he's not a great actor. If he performs well out a a green suit, I'll agree with everyone else.

Mrcool210 - 6/26/2014, 9:08 AM
@Alexanderlykins Motion capture for the most part requires more acting then regular ones, cause they have to act with just their face. and their movement. Sometimes they will have their voice sometimes they wont, like serkis didn't have his voice when he played king kong, and he was great there. So kindly

"Motion capture for the most part requires more acting then regular ones,"

So you're saying the only devices used to display emotion are your face and voice? What about subtle movements of the body that can't get caught be a green suit? This is all subjective. I will never call him a great actor until he steps out of the darn suit.
Joementum - 6/26/2014, 9:15 AM
I would love to see him audition for Dr. Strange.
Jollem - 6/26/2014, 9:17 AM
