After its victory over Leonidas' 300, the Persian Army under the command of Xerxes marches south towards the major Greek city-states. The Democratic city of Athens, first on the path of Xerxes' army, bases its strength on its fleet, led by admiral Themistocles. Themistocles is forced to an unwilling alliance with the traditional rival of Athens, oligarchic Sparta whose might lies with its superior infantry troops. But Xerxes still reigns supreme in numbers over sea and land.

Starring Lena Headey, Eva Green, Rodrigo Santoro, Sullivan Stapleton, Andrew Tiernan and Callan Mulvey. Directed by Noam Murro. Written by Kurt Johnstad and Zack Snyder based on the fictional work of Frank Miller. Produced by Thomas Tull, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Stephen Jones, Jon Jashni, Craig J. Flores and Marty P. Ewing for Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Studios. 300: Rise of an Empire will bring war to the U.S. on August 2nd.

Why are they saying From Producer Zack Snyder when he didn't even direct this?
Give the Director some credit.

@thebluejaguar Because Zack Snyder is more popular, therefore placing his name in trailers and TV spots may make the film more popular.

@thebluejaguar Robert Rodriguez didn't direct Predators but his name was smothered all over the posters, trailers, spots even the freaking action figures. Big names = more money from the general demographic. Why do you think Nolan's name was involved with Man of Steel?

I dunno, I don't think most of the general public pays attention to who a director is. Perhaps the hardcore film fans, but the regular viewing audience doesn't care. I know my friends never say, "hey, let's go see that new film that *insert director* is doing". It's about the actors and the actual film.

Why are most of the trailers using rock/metal (I can't tell the difference). The original 300 Trailer and Movie felt epic because the music was orchestrated and had powerful vocals.

@ thebluejaguar

For the same reason they put "From Producer Chris Nolan" on MOS.

How could this sequel to an absurd piece of shit film made for idiots be anything but a banal squish? [frick] this film for wasting theater space.
