Chris Evans Ready To Leave CAPTAIN AMERICA By 2017?

Captain America star Chris Evans recently had an interview with Variety magazine, in which he revealed how long filming will continue for Avengers: Age of Ultron, what year he'll be done playing our star-spangled avenger, or acting all-together, and more after the jump!

In a recent interview with Variety, actor Chris Evans, known for playing Captain America in Marvel's films, stated: "We can do this out loud, Avengers: Age of Ultron will shoot till August. I wouldn't be surprised if for all of 2015, we didn't do a movie. I bet that by 2017, I'll be done." Evans only has two films left in his contract with Marvel, which are speculated to be Captain America 3, and possibly The Avengers 3 or a small role in another film, so this further fuels the idea that co-star Sebastian Stan, who currently plays The Winter Soldier, could put on the suit and go a few rounds as the star-spangled hero.
After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy — the Winter Soldier.

Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, the film is directed by the Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is set for release on April 4, 2014.

batz11 - 3/25/2014, 8:24 AM
Kinda figured they'd do a soft reboot for most of the characters by then...the beauty of the Avengers and MCU, can just keep reloading with new heroes...
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 3/25/2014, 8:24 AM
Makes sense. If Avengers 3 comes out in 2018, then his filming will be done in 2017. Seriously, they should kill him off in Avengers 3, setting up Bucky as New Cap.
Omarvls - 3/25/2014, 8:25 AM
Ah
You still have 3 more films

2015
Age of Ultron
2016
Cap 3
2018
Avengers 3

So yeah if Avengers 3 is filmed in 2017 then he will be done

GizmoEl - 3/25/2014, 8:28 AM

batz11 - 3/25/2014, 8:28 AM

Omarvls - 3/25/2014, 8:29 AM
Did Jennifer Lawrence
get a booty job
cause that is big
Cles - 3/25/2014, 8:29 AM
Are we sure this isn't out of context. 2015 AoU comes out, but May 2016 is Cap3. Unless they are going to scream through the next script, and shoot all of the third installment by the end of the year, I just don't see it.

ProfessorX - 3/25/2014, 8:31 AM
Steve should die in either Avengers 3 or Cap 3, and then Bucky takes on the mantle:

TheFirstAvenger97 - 3/25/2014, 8:37 AM
So he won't be in A3?

@ starfox saw catching fire! can we make fun of him???
MexicanChinman - 3/25/2014, 8:40 AM
I like him as Capitan America but I always felt that he didn't care about the role. I think he only took the role to get his name more exposure but he regrets it since in every interview I see him in is also something negative about doing these movies. I have seen some of Evans smaller movies where his performance destroys his Capitan America performance.
tvor03 - 3/25/2014, 8:40 AM
there is certainly some photoshop work done with Jennifer Lawrence's ass in that pic, because her booty is not that big. She ain't a Kardashian.
MexicanChinman - 3/25/2014, 8:42 AM
@MrReese, DAT ASS.
MrReese - 3/25/2014, 8:42 AM
@Axe damn straight!
MexicanChinman - 3/25/2014, 8:44 AM
@tvor03, Kim Kardashian ASS is way bigger than Lawrence's ASS. I don't that is photoshop.
StarYeezus - 3/25/2014, 8:44 AM
TheFirstAvenger97

Avengers 3 comes out in 2018, but they will shoot it in 2017, so he will be in A3.
ComicsBornAndBred - 3/25/2014, 8:46 AM
Figured he'd be done. He's put In a lot of work for Marvel. I heard he wants to direct and produce more. Marvel does demand a lot. I love him as Cap and will be sad if he goes
BANEofExistence - 3/25/2014, 8:47 AM
People listen... Chris has a 6 picture deal...

1- Captain America The First Avenger (Filmed in 2010, released in 2011)
2- Marvel's The Avengers (FIlmed in 2011, released in 2012)
3- Captain America The Winter Soldier (Filmed 2013, released 2014)
4- Avengers Age of Ultron (Filmed 2014,released in 2015)
5- Cap 3 (Filming 2015, set for 2016)
6- Avengers 3 (Filming 2017, set for 2018)
TheDarman - 3/25/2014, 8:50 AM
No. I hope Marvel re-signs him for a few more films and then gives him the chance to direct a new Iron Man trilogy. I really like him as Captain America and he go for quite a while longer.
BboiBlack - 3/25/2014, 8:52 AM
Evans sure talks about leaving alot.
Tainted87 - 3/25/2014, 8:54 AM
You know why they can't kill him off like Civil War? Because eventually, he'd have to return. And if Steve came back with a different face, that would be weird.
DarthDan - 3/25/2014, 8:54 AM
Cap (Evans) will need to die, Bucky will reprise the role
third3ye - 3/25/2014, 8:55 AM
Or they'll just re-cast Cap.
pepe - 3/25/2014, 8:55 AM
....and thats the way to get more money. Say you are done until Disney brings more money... So were do I sign?
Mr Evans
Tainted87 - 3/25/2014, 8:56 AM
I talk about leaving a lot too, and my job definitely doesn't pay anything like Marvel... but I still show up, honor my commitments. I think he reserves the right to complain a little (which he isn't even doing here), especially with what his diet consists of. Imagine eating that for YEARS, and treating something you would normally have as a massive splurge.
TelaVizion - 3/25/2014, 8:59 AM
Don't need another Iron trilogy and don't need anymore Cap solos after Cap 3. This is not Warner Bros. & DC, Marvel has plenty of characters to choose from.

Even with Fox owning mutants world, and Sony owning Spidey's world, Marvel still have a shit load of characters to play with.
Dinotron - 3/25/2014, 9:01 AM
If Evans returns it would be awesome for several movies Cap was playing dead and returns for a finale MCU movie as a older Cap to lead the Avengers in a final battle. That would be an awesome closing for the MCU IMO. All the original avengers would had "retired" and then rise to the challenge to tackle a nearly unstoppable villain!
Grimfoe - 3/25/2014, 9:01 AM
Really don't want to see Bucky as Cap. I know that appeals to you younger guys, but I've lived through several incarnations of the "other guy as Cap storyline." They all suck a little bit. Keep Steve Rogers as Captain America. It's just better. We don't need to see it played out on film that others can't measure up. We know that already.
