This time the pic has Seth Rogen wearing the costume WITH the jacket and holding a weird looking gun.

rockingrich1webb: Why!?! Why?!? Why Did it have to be Rogen!?! This dosen't have to happen!?! Why is the director suicidal?!? Is it all Rogens fault!?! I don't know the answers to those questions. Well good luck to them I suppose they're going to need it. Hope they manage to pull it off because there were alot of failures when it comes to doing remakes and reboots and I guess this movie will have to try harder to not fail (like thats going to happen).

you guys think just cause Rogen is...well WAS known for being a fat comedian that he cant do anything else. Give him a chance to spread his wings alittle. Well, you can see the guy standing on a fall pad, so it's obviously a stunt man. That's Rogen behind him sitting on his fat ass.

@Filmguy: I agree with you, and funny people was a really good start for him to dip his toe in the water of being a serious actor. But I fail to see how he thinks this is the logical next step.

LOL- I actually looked at the other pictures, and he's running around up and down a hill, likely for multiple takes. I'm just guessing, but that's probably sort of a new thing for him.

why does everyone hate on this, it's not like he's ruining a glorious property. I don't I remember so much hatred for the other faux super hero movies which is more or less what the green hornet actually is. And unlike superhero movie and sky high and those other crap fests this has the potential to be interesting.
Or he could actually be doing a serious movie which again we have no idea how that would be, nothing to judge it against. Want an even better example than batman star keatan for suposed miscasts, Bruce willis. Guess what he was famous for before he was america's favorite action star?
He was the star of a romantic sitcom called moon lighting. Yup he went from that to die hard, so why doubt that rogan could be decent with out seeing him try?
I'm not saying he's the next action star but he could do well as a super hero of the green hornet's caliber.

I think people are just goofing on it because it's 'Rogen'. And I bet he'd take it all in stride. Seems like he's that kinda guy. Frankly, I am hoping it good. I don't even care if it's so weird that it flops at the box office as long I get to enjoy it.

Multipurpose I'm aware of the character's history and while he dates back to the pulp era, January 31, 1936 to be exact, he's always been a dull character. Striker created him as a way of jumping onto the gritty detective band wagon, with minimal effort he retooled some of his Lone Ranger scripts and packaged them as a new hero. And if you listen to some of the old radio dramas it's fairly easy to tell that he was a shallow character in comparison to the shadow, a character that he was in direct competition with and who was remained on the air for four years longer than the hornet. He was a bland character, whose only legacy was launching bruce lee's career.
It's not like they announced rogan was going to play bruce wayne.

I agree with you guys. Its getting old, for me. I'm going to at the very least give it until I see a trailer before I say anything good or bad about it. Its people like the ones that are putting it down already that make directors like Rat-turd blame the fans for making a bad movie. How many of YOU jokers are constantly going back and forth on who should or shouldn't play Captain America, or why ScarJo was a bad choice to play Black Widow, or why Ultimate Thor would work better on film? MultiPurposePoni, I haven't once said anything about who should play Captain Ahab. Johansen looks like a decent Widow to me. Isn't Ultimate Thor in the comics just supposed to be some human nutjob with some tech suit and war hammer? When I'm looking at pics of a movie currently in production I haven't said that the movie is, "gonna FAIL," or "it SUCKS." The only time that I have done that was for GMformers 2, and that was AFTER I saw GMformers. The reason for that? Everything was the same for the 2nd as it was for the 1st crappy movie. Guess what. I saw the 2nd one, too, and I hated that one even more.

the difference with captain america is that it's a hypothetical situation, we hae no idea who will play the cap so jockying back and forth is acceptable. However when we have someone in the role of a relitvly unknown hero in a movie that has yet to reveal its tone or purpose it just seems illogical to put down rogan. We have no idea what this movie is going to be like; is it a comedy, a parody or a realistic adaptation? we haven't a clue so judging him is beyond premature.
As to tearing down ScarJo I'm not for that at all, we've seen very little of her and have no idea how she's written into the story so likewise no judgements can be made.
Now if we see a trailer with the tone of a hardcore green hornet movie and seth looks out of place then yeah criticize all you want, but we've got nothing to go on so far so it seems pointless.

Some of you guys must be psychic on here to say this is gonna suck from a hand-full of photos! I do believe that you guys just hate the hell out of Seth Rogen and I don't understand why? He has never disappointed me in a movie with his performance.

Maybe the movie disappoints me but he never does! I think he is funnier than a ton of other more famous comedic actors and he can write the hell out of a script and can do serious acting too! He was great in Knocked Up! Why all the hate???

Ryden, since everybody loves to compare things to the origional work and don't judge it for the work that it is, wasn't the origional GH's mask big like that? I could have sworn that it was in pics i've seen. If anything his mask on here reminds me of Jet Li's Black Mask.

If you actually read my comment you would have understood why I posted that picture of him. I said I didn't like him in any of the movie's he's been in. As a matter of fact, I didn't even like him in the tv series Freaks and Geeks. Why would I post a pic of how he looks now? It would be irrelevant to my point. I stated that I don't like his face (he constantly has a sh*t-eating grin) or his voice (slurry with a hit of weed). I just don't like him as an actor. Could this movie change my perspective? Of course it could. But I'm not going to base my opinion of him on a project that he's currently working on, of which I haven't even seen footage.

@CaptainAmerica Did I mention anything about his shoes?

it's true that certain actors can queer someones perspective of a movie a bit, I'm guilty of it myself. I have several friends that swear by the genetic opera but I cringe at the mere mention of paris hilton's name so I cannot watch it. So I get where you're coming from multi, and I accept your dislike for the movie if that's your reason, but when others say they think the movie will fail because he's not right for the role or that the green hornet's legacy deserves better I kinda scoff. But if it's an almost personal dislike of him that puts you off I can get that.

@thwhtknight Thanks man :) See, it's easy for us to understand each other without getting bent out of shape. I honestly WISH this role turns him into a better actor. If it tanks, there is a serious possibility that he will be typecast as another 'stoner, fart joke comedian' and it doesn't sound like he would be happy with that. Just look what happened to Jim Breuer.

BTW I feel the same way about Paris Hilton. The only movie of hers that I can watch was filmed in night vision :)

You know, I would have liked to see a Kung Fu Hustle version of the GH. It would have been fresh and different from the cookie cutter superhero movies that have come out lately. But you know once Stephen Chow left, that wasn't even an option any more. I hope they don't try to go the dark route that is all the rage in Hollywood now. GH is supposed to be a bit campy. I mean, come on, the guy has an Asian man servant!

The GH's source material is not supposed to be taken too seriously, so if they turn it into a very serious hero flick it could backfire. The same goes with taking serious source material and making it into a comedy. Do you remember when Jack Black was going to play the Green Lantern?

I'm prolly the only one on here to this this lol but I love Rogan, his voice is what makes some movies for me. I don't remember much from the original Green Hornet, but I have high hopes for this movie, and I think the costume is awesome and I wish I had a fedora like that haha.

I'm withholding judgement on this movie. Seth worked out to lean down for this role. He is in no fitness shape either. Actually, neither was the Green Hornet. We have only seen photos from third parties that were on the set. I want to see a trailer or a teaser before I start throwing my opinions at everyone.

I'm not a fan of Seth. But I'm giving him a chance.

Well i for one hate Green Hornet as much as Rogen. So i guess it's a match made in outhouse heaven. Finaly seeing him in the suit and comparing him to the original, it looks exactly the same. The guy seems to be sticking to the source as much as Snyder's Watchmen. Which i guess is a... "good" thing??? So i'm willing to bet that all the campy show's fans will rejoice. Now The Shadow is actually a favorite of mine in fact i think i like him just as much as Batman which is probably why i loved Alec Baldwin's rendition so much even though it was shit on a platter. So i guess i can relate to the Rogen/Hornet fans in here in a way. But if Rogen ever thinks he's fit to ever put his dirty fat weed stinkin' fingers on The Shadow's franchise, you'll see him win himself a mamouth sized flamin' shitload of hate from yours truly, regardless if he's become a serious actor or not.

@Planeswalker: Why after 1960? The GH tv series didn't air until 1966, GH comics where published all the way up to 1994. And now, Kevin Smith is adapting a GH script he wrote into a comic mini-series.

The Green Hornet #11 was the first comic my dad bought for me :)

I remember as a kid, the thing i hated the most about the movie, in fact i felt it was ruining it single handedly, was having Daniel Baldwin's face under the scarf. I didn't get why Alec felt the need to change faces on top of having a scraf to hide his face. Ian McKellen and Tim Curry had great but weird performances. Never been a fan of John Lone though. But he was pretty decent in The Hunted with Chris Lambert.

I think The Shadow needs a shot at a reboot right now! It would be amazing!!! I say Ralph Fiennes as Lamont Cranston :))

KIR- The Shadow starred Alec Baldwin but when he changed into The Shadow, he used his mind clouding abilities to warp his face as Daniel's. That was just the worse part for me. The rest of the film i loved even though most didn't. Liam Neeson didn't do The Shadow, i dunno what film you're reffering to... oh yeah, darkman.

@Shaman Ralph Fiennes would do an excellent job as Lamont! This in one of my biggest complaints with the studios jumping on the CBM bandwagon. There are PLENTY of characters out there that they can create a dark movie around without deviating from the source material. Why would the try to darken Superman or the Fantastic Four? I think they would have a much easier time using properties that like the Shadow, Abraham Van Helsing or the Phantom.

And I'm STILL waiting for the FABLES TV mini-series! I can't believe that ABC bought the rights to it, that show belongs on HBO or Showtime.
