Ever since his appearance in the post-credits scene in The Avengers, we've been worndering who would play the Mad Titan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thanos. We know he'll have a supporting role in Guardians of the Galaxy, and that he's being set up as the big bad of The Avengers 3, but have no idea who is playing him.

Acorrding to Kevin Feige, the role has already been cast, though he's remained tight-lipped about who landed the coveted role. Many of us wondered if Vin Diesel, who's voicing Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy, had secretly been cast in the role. According to James Gunn himself, this is not the case, which he revealed during a Q&A with fans on Facebook:

So, could this just be a case of casting misdirection? Or should we take Gunn at his word? Would Vin Diesel really join the MCU just to voice a walking tree man that only says "I Am Groot?" Only time will tell, and I suspect we'll have our answer soon enough, as it will likely leak before Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters on August 1st.
