In an announcement that's sure to have millions of anime porn fiends dancing in the street Playboy has stated that Marge Simpson is their newest celebrity centerfold. So if you've ever wanted to flip through a magazine and see a cartoon character you grew up with posing in a nightgown, here's your chance. To some people's disapointment however she will not be appearing in the nude, but rather she will, in fact, be in a nightgown. The only question remaining now is why?

The answer to that question is clear to anyone who has watched the show evolve over the years: the old girl is just running out of steam. I'm not being harsh to the Simpsons it happens sooner or later to every sitcom, from friends to sienfield they all eventually fade away. You have to give the writers some credit though they’re doing everything they can to keep the show vibrant.Unfortunately the show has been on for over twenty years and it’s become really repetitive.

The announcement states that Marge is doing something that would make Bart the the proudest kid in school but for me...it's more than a little awkward. I mean I've grown up with the Simpsons, I'm practically part of the family it's like seeing my own on mom on the cover of Playboy. Is this really the solution to sagging ratings and a loss of social relevance??
