hot damn LEEE... where'd you get that picture of jody?! so niiiice! sweet!! dont like the tiara much, but everything else is fantastic!
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 12:13 PM
Yeah, the tiara is jacked. But everything else should be modeled after for a movie. Though I was thinking that abandoning the bathing suit bottom in a live action for a toga skirt or those battle fronds on Roman uniforms would be the way to go.
Phinehas - 10/1/2009, 12:21 PM
@leee oh please ffs!! what do you want me to print you out a pic of her for you coz if you do keep dreamin!!! lol
lc - 10/1/2009, 12:25 PM
tehehehe... LEEE got in trouble... LEEE got in trouble.. :D haha...

TheGuillotine - 10/1/2009, 12:44 PM
LEEE@ you know i think Okeafe is completly wrong for WW and i want Rhona......but...............throwing a curve ball Steven Soderbergh is making a film staring in lead is Gina Carano....now if a director like Soderbergh thinks she can act and hold her own movie she goes straight to the top of my list for WW :)
teabag - 10/1/2009, 12:44 PM
One more try

TheGuillotine - 10/1/2009, 12:46 PM

About what I was saying about those fronds (not quite sure of the correct designation)
Phinehas - 10/1/2009, 12:49 PM
The pic of Jodi Lynn O'Keefe looks badass!

Photobucket

Phin: yeah I like that skirt too! the tiara needs to be fixed in that pic but other than that it's ROCKIN!
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 1:02 PM

I think the skirt would be more plausibly explained in a live-action flick that was shaped more like 300 meets LOTR .
Phinehas - 10/1/2009, 1:08 PM
I like this pic too!

Phinehas - 10/1/2009, 1:20 PM
Phin - I like that cover.

If you ask me, this is my favourite wonder woman cover:

QuickPost

But my favourite stories are still those of George Perez. The ongoing WW series are, right now, the worst of DC's trinity.

And what news do we have about the movie? Nothing. I know that wonder woman is little known outside USA, but I think a movie would be even profitable.
Merinator - 10/1/2009, 1:52 PM
im still rooting for victoria hill to play her... if DC/WB ever gets off it's lazy @ss and makes a movie with Wonder Woman!

JerzeyHellboy - 10/1/2009, 1:57 PM

Phinehas - 10/1/2009, 2:00 PM

JerzeyHellboy - 10/1/2009, 2:05 PM
I love real bewbs. MMMMM.
SirPrize - 10/1/2009, 2:09 PM

Tea-If shes can pass for a Med girl, is pretty, can act, and convince me her eyes are icy blue, I don't care who she is. And if Jodi wants to offer me her apples I am not going to deny her.

No, didn't hear about the Jolie modeling, KIR! Did you know that WW and Flash worked together often? LOL

Phinehas - 10/1/2009, 2:24 PM

Hollywood is just scared
SHHH - 10/1/2009, 2:42 PM
Keepitreal@, I'm the one who made that pic of Jodi as Wonder Woman, glad you like it!

Hey, @Tea, I thought I was the one who discovered Gina Carano for Wonder Woman! Man, she's perfect for WW. She's a real Mixed Martial Arts fighter and could kick our butts royally! She's built like a Brick sh*t house!

Man what a cutie and what a buff babe! She's starring in Steven Soderbergh's new movie, "Knockout, about a realist look at a beautiful badass spy-girl/mercenary who is hired by the CIA! She's an up-and-coming actress!

Gina should stick to show biz and not mess up that exquisite face! Cyborg should stick with tenderizing halves of beef for the meat packers!

CARANO-CYBORG WIEGH-IN 1
DDD - 10/1/2009, 3:00 PM
They need to get Gina and make that big screen treatment of WW, PRONTO! Pretty, pretty plee-e-ease!!!
DDD - 10/1/2009, 3:05 PM
Carano has the look for WW down, but can she act?

Bridget Regan is still my choice for Wonder Woman.

Teabag: I agree with you on O'Keefe. She looks like a witch, and she is much more suited for a villainess role.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 10/1/2009, 3:26 PM
The Wonder Woman movie should be like the new Clash of the Titans movie and 300, with how they filmed Watchmen thrown in.
Timerider84 - 10/1/2009, 3:38 PM
Tyler@, Soderbergh's starring her in his KNOCKOUT movie and I don't think he would do that if she couldn't act. She's acted before on TV and was featured in Michael Jai White's film "Blood and Bone! And she was on American Gladiators and was the spokeswoman for the exercise video That AG put out!

She's acted way more than Megan Gale! All she needs is blue contacts and she's ready to go! That is what's needed for WW, a virtual unknown, so the actor's perceived persona won't override Wonder Woman's.
DDD - 10/1/2009, 3:45 PM
Bridget's my favorite now, too but Gina's sure got the look for WW!
DDD - 10/1/2009, 3:49 PM
Megan Gale was a terrible pick for WW for sure. Well, it went along perfectly with the majority of that cast anyway :)

I'd give Carano a shot. Well, in more ways than one ;)

And I noticed Lee's comment of "blue eyes is a must". I disagree completely. Sure, the blue eyes is an advantage, but it's so trivial. It's not essential to the character at all.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 10/1/2009, 3:53 PM
phin: the WW issue 213 where WW looks like Angelina Jolie. I dont know if it actually is but Monghan posted once something in reference to it a while back.
Yes, I knew she worked with Flash alot and Aquaman too.
Photobucket

DDD: man! most excellant job of jody! awesome and really gives you a good idea of how she could really pull it off imho. thanks. =)

jerzeyhellboy: all hail Lynda Carter. Always show loyalty and respect to the first Wonder Woman.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

shhh: thats a good look for you! =) glad you liked it!

DEFINITELY, ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, WITHOUT A DOUBT WE NEED BIG SCREEN TIME FOR WONDER WOMAN.
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 4:02 PM
tyler: you really think its trivial for the eyes not needing to be blue?ohh.. I think she does. I mean, its who she is. Its part of her identity. Along with the black raven hair, 6 feet tall, fair skinned. Its how we identify to THEE Wonder Woman as opposed to a wonder woman. I would like to have her be complete in every aspect. Its one of her trademarks. Its like saying Black widow can have black hair when she is always red haired. Or hulk doesnt need to be green. at least we agree Megan Gale was a wrong pick for WW! =)

lc: here you go!

Photobucket
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 4:15 PM
KIR@ i think Tyler means contacts can solve that issue oh and okeafe isnt 6ft and no one can solve the wicked witch look she has

DDD@ i didnt know you supported Gina, i came across her ( i wish) yesterday when i was reading about Knockout...she's perfect in every way for WW:)
teabag - 10/1/2009, 4:23 PM
Yeah what tea said. The blue eyes aren't essential. It's not an important factor. Sure, it's a plus, but it's not a big deal in the slightest. Whenever I think of WW, I don't automatically think blue eyes. Yes, I think raven haired, but hair color is a much more standout feature than eyes, wouldn't you say?

Black Widow having black hair is completely different than WW not having blue eyes. That's an unbalanced comparison.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 10/1/2009, 4:33 PM
thanks @keep now am sure going to do my thing and kick his butt lol
lc - 10/1/2009, 4:35 PM
teabag... i never said she was 6'. I have said she is 5'10. Does she have a wicked witch look to her? The better to strike them i say! haha =P no..common.

yes.. you could use contacts for the blue eyes... but then it looks cheesy like Jessica Alba in Fantastic Four. But in that case.. i see what he means then. Id love to agree with you tyler... but in this I believe it does matter at least to me it does. Again, her identity. When a policeman asks for a description of a perp it can make a difference if the eye were blue or brown. its the persons physical appearance that stands out. Now if they can make it look good with contacts or cgi... then problem solved but imho its one of her characteristics, her trademarks like marilyn monroe and her mole. haha.. it is one of the things I think of when describing WW. I have to respectfully disagree with you on the eyes not being important. I think they are.

Gina Carano is beautiful though. She is 5'8..could cheat with her height and the angle of the cameras. hmmm ...she fights.. can someone do a foto with her and blue eyes? that's be cool to see!
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 4:40 PM
Jessica Alba is totally different as well. She doesn't suit the hair color or the eyes at all, with skin color being a factor. They could find a brunette, caucasian woman and I highly (emphasis on HIGHLY) doubt it would be an Alba-type fiasco.

Regan is brunette, caucasian, blue eyes would fit fine with her.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 10/1/2009, 4:48 PM
p.s. how was it an unbalanced comparison btw? BW hair?

KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 4:48 PM
Scarjo as Black Widow is the greatest crime...sniff, lol

KIR@ i know what you mean but its never that way in Hollywood but sometimes if done properly the little details can be forgiven....Alba as Sue was terrible, but Torch they had Dark hair when he has always been known for the blonde hair and it didnt matter cus he did a great job portraying the character :P
teabag - 10/1/2009, 4:52 PM
Red hair stands out much more than blue eyes on a dark haired brunette. That's how it's unbalanced. Everyone knows Black Widow has red hair, it's her iconic image. Blue eyes is not WW's iconic image.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 10/1/2009, 4:54 PM
Her blue eyes is not iconic?! its part of her image. all her pictures and in the movies its always been so... her descriptions... sparklng blue. Of course they stand out imho. I think its safe to say we should agree to disagree lol. I think in your honest opinion it doesnt matter and to me it really does. See to me it wouldnt matter if BW hair is black or brown or red... my opinion. oh well...

yes! Jessica Alba skin color was way off for that color hair and eyes. It looked awful and its what I fear if they use contacts. your point about skin color though- alot of woman I know even my cousins who are like Selma Hyak coloring and have natural blue eyes and they look good. Its makes me think its the contacts itself and not the coloring of a person skin that makes it off. Maybe the quality of contacts in the movie? or cgi was off? IDK. Anyway... if they can make it look good & not cheesy its all I would ask..lol...
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 4:59 PM
I should have said "most iconic image" The red hair is BW's most iconic image, blue eyes is not WW's.

Yes, agree to disagree then.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 10/1/2009, 5:08 PM
Again Johnny Storms Blonde hair is an iconic characteristic but it didnt matter in the movies cus Evans nailed the character :)
teabag - 10/1/2009, 5:10 PM
TYLER: "most iconic" what do you consider it to be? I think its all of her wrapped up in one that makes her iconic but what stands out most for you out of curiosity.

coool! agree to disagree... =) This is for you!

Photobucket

PS you're right about BW hair and i lied- i would care hehe
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 5:27 PM
I'd say her most iconic image is her raven hair. I'm not totally sure what it is exactly, but I know that it isn't her blue eyes.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 10/1/2009, 5:30 PM
Tits :)
teabag - 10/1/2009, 5:39 PM
How could I forget the tits? Those are definitely her most iconic image!
InTylerWeTrust82 - 10/1/2009, 5:41 PM
if you're not totally sure then how can you argue i am wrong? I say its all of it rolled up in one to make her WOnder Woman. You cant have one without the other. yes... ***gulp*** even the ... bustier is a part of her. If you start picking and choosing one over the other you will have a completely different person and not Wonder Woman. Like Kathy Lee Crosby in the first ww movie back in the 70's. She had the blue eyes but nt the black hair... so she was unidentifiable. she had a costume but not thee costume... unidentifiable. She fought but didnt have powers... changing even the most minute of things has a jarring effect for a ww fan, or someone say in my case. =)
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 5:47 PM
It makes me laugh cus everyone fricken loves Nolans Batman but i hate the fricken costume cus he looks nothing like Batman.....so i do see the point of image...especialy since im not a big WW fan.....she does have tits tho..lol :P
teabag - 10/1/2009, 5:52 PM
bad teabag! lol! too much! sick puppy! nite guys....
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 6:03 PM
Nite nite......im off to dream of boobs and ill dogs :P
teabag - 10/1/2009, 6:15 PM
Gina got her ass handed to her by Cyborg.

Kisses Tea goodnight. Sweet dreams, precious.
SirPrize - 10/1/2009, 6:54 PM
This is such amazing news... I soooo sish i could be there. And that Wonder Woman "
Vengeance " cover takes my Breath AWAY!
shibazz - 10/1/2009, 8:04 PM
Wonder Woman needs to have the blue eyes but contacts for Gina Carano would look right! Jessica Alba did not look right at all with blue eyes! Sue Storm is always pictured as a very Caucasian Nordic looking girl with blond hair and blue eyes, Alba doesn't have the right features for Sue Storm.

Sirprize@, Gina did get her butt handed to her by that Cyborg mutant chick that's why she needs to go into acting full-time! Save that wonderful face and body for the Big Screen! :D
DDD - 10/1/2009, 8:44 PM
This is the look of Wonder Woman!

Phinehas - 10/1/2009, 9:02 PM
TELL THEM PHIN! TELL THEM!!
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 9:21 PM
Yeah! I will, KIR! Thanks!!!

That isn't even WW! This is Donna Troy. The first Wonder Girl. Even WonderWoman knew how to cast herself when she goes missing!!! She even had icy-clue eyes.

Thank you, WonderWoman! For knowing how you're supposed to look.
Phinehas - 10/1/2009, 9:25 PM
LMAO!! hehe... I would think she knows what she looks like no? Phin.. seriously though.. all kidding aside.. do YOU know what you look like?!! LOL!

KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 9:36 PM
Sorry guys, gotta do it.....Cobie Smulders!

davidcub - 10/1/2009, 10:00 PM
I didn't create these but I'm going to buy Photoshop just so I can start!

davidcub - 10/1/2009, 10:03 PM
hey david! yes... I love her too! that picture you showed me before was gorgeous! she looks good in these pics too. is she good actress? how you been? =)
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 10:08 PM
Yes, and I would still cast someone better looking than myself for myself! lol
Phinehas - 10/1/2009, 10:11 PM
phin... haha :D hehe... so what do you think about cobie? kinda young looking, sweet. certainly is very pretty.
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 10:26 PM
I don't know who she is, but if she can act and fight, I won't object! In fact, I like that real-looking ensemble. She fits the bill in appearance. What are your thoughts, KIR?

Watch, it turns out she sounds like Fran Drescher. LOL!
Phinehas - 10/1/2009, 10:37 PM
idk who she is either acting wise but i have seen pictures and she is very pretty. but she seems too sweet. I havent seen her in any show or movie. hmm....

I wonder if they will ever get someone decent to do it.
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 10:43 PM
If they ever turn their blind eyes to these damn posts they'd get a remote clue!!! LOL
Phinehas - 10/1/2009, 10:51 PM
the real looking ensemble...lol... yeah i hear you but i dont like the tiara it gotta go. I dont know. I like her... but I think I lean more towards maybe Wonder Girl. She just seems so sweet and young looking.

sounds like Fran Dresher?!!! omg! say it aint so! haha

man, i wish they would turn to these posts!
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 11:09 PM
Yes, that tiara has to go! Agreed! A couple of snarls and grunts in combat conditions, along with a regal attitude and tone in her voice may alleviate you of those sentiments. Furthermore, if she was cast now, several films later she would still be holding onto that beauty.
Phinehas - 10/1/2009, 11:14 PM
true. so i take it you like her? id be ok with it assuming she can act and fight and doesnt sound like fran dresher! she does have that fresh natural beauty. she wouldnt need much in the make up dept.

hey, did you ever figure out how WW would meet up with Queen of the Iceni tribe? lol.. to get her polished english accent? haha..
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 11:23 PM
Wow! I tip my hat off to you. I almost completely forgot about that arguement. I had an answer, but I don't remember it at this moment. What do you say?
Phinehas - 10/1/2009, 11:29 PM
bana-migdhall tribe. Hippolyta sister Antiope commanded them. When Hippolyta and Antiope split up Antiope was very vengeful. Then Antiope was murdered & her foster daughter Phthia took over and commanded the tribe. She went to war with mankind then later settled in Eygpt and founded the city of Bana-Mighdall. I figured if they went to war with mankind they would maybe travel or wander a bit before they would settle in Eygpt. Kind of like looking for the promised land type thing. They would have met the Iceni tribe in their travels the queen and her two daughters make friends with them etc...etc... I know England is far from Greece and the aegan sea but they could have heard of the iceni and been curious of them.. another tribe of amazons or something they would think.. The bana remain in contact with paradise island so diana would have heard of them too... your thoughts?
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 11:57 PM
I have homework right now, I will finish this tomorrow. Ok?
Phinehas - 10/2/2009, 12:18 AM
so i give you my answer and now you suddenly have homework huh? hmmmmmm.... interesting =P gg..
KeepItReal - 10/2/2009, 5:32 AM
Yeah, it had to be done by 12 mid my time. Sheesh! ;-)

Yeah, but why would she pick up the accent? Also, I thought Paradise Island was to be totally isolated from the outside world?

"I know England is far from Greece and the aegan sea"

That shouldn't really matter, the Greeks under Alexander went as far as India, and the Romans went as far as Britainia.

The one motivation that I think would be fitting for any Amazon to venture from the island is to sate their Grecian lust for new knowledge to add to their huge expansed library. Otherwise, they have (supposedly) everything they need, hence "Paradise Island". Consequently, that is what makes for a good story device in the Amazon story. The irony is that its not really Paradise because women need men and likewise.

K.I.R.- Hey man, I'm good thanks! You? Cobie Smulders is on "How I met Your Mother" but has also had guest spots on "Smallville", "Doll House", and "The L Word"....
She needs to bulk up, but I think she looks majestic and kind of innocent...

davidcub - 10/2/2009, 6:03 PM
Ah...lesbian heartbreak. What the heck with Jennifer Beals towering over them. That doesn't make me feel good about Cobie's height.

Checked IMDb: She's 5'8". Not too bad. This clip doesn't really tell me how versatile she is. We need a Cate Blanchett-caliber actress.

BTW, Beals is apparently in heels because she's only a half-inch taller than Smulders.

Post Script: IMDb reported that Joss Whedon jokingly suggested Cobie Smulders. If that is who is eyeing for the part, I could trust him. Especially if her garb will be likened to that photoshoped pic (minus that version of the tiara[Looks more like an over-priced headband with cheap jewlery than it does a crown]).

phin: "Yeah, but why would she pick up the accent?"

I would say she would pick up their accent because she would learn to speak as they do. If she spent time there say during the time The Iceni tribe was attacked by the romans as a warrior she would fight with her friends (though the queen lost =( I was thinking more along the way that the Amazons heard of these warriors, their leader was a queen it would pique their interests. Maybe they hear her daughters were brutally raped by the romans and are outraged. I dont know. I didnt think of the particulars but hollywood is good about ironing out the details. LOL!

"Also, I thought Paradise Island was to be totally isolated from the outside world?" yes... but Phthia waged war on mankind and so she would be the catalist between the Iceni Tribe and Dianas world. Bana tribe went to eygpt but it doesnt say they went there immediately. anyway... It was how i thought of it. =)

Hey David: "how I met you mother" OK! now I got her. THATS her?!! holy cow... i didnt realize. Yes, I could see it. she kinda got a mean streak...hmmm... =) If she could be like Phin says Cate Blanchett.. we're in biz!

"yes... but Phthia waged war on mankind and so she would be the catalist between the Iceni Tribe and Dianas world. Bana tribe went to eygpt but it doesnt say they went there immediately."

Are you suggesting that she formed a loose confederated alliance with these female tribes in order to wage war on the Patriarchs?

Phinehas - 10/3/2009, 12:42 AM
no. She was going to war anyway regardless of an alliance or not. I dont think she needed an alliance nor an excuse, those Amazons are buck wild on their own . They were a vengeful tribe remember and her mother Antiope had just been murdered. I could see the rape of the Iceni daughters and the tribe being treated like slaves would trigger her anger enough to go there and whoop ass. Women sticking together and all that. I dont think she would need much provocation. I could see them being curious too about the Iceni and checking them out to see what could be had maybe down the road becoming friends. When the Queen and her daughters drink the poison I could then see them retreating to Eygpt. The Romans were in power and were known for culture to appease the thirst for learning for Dianas tribe. anyway... just my line of thought... =)
KeepItReal - 10/3/2009, 12:59 AM
Ok, you're loosing me here. So Antiope's daughter in vengeance for her mother took along Amazons and left the island?
Phinehas - 10/3/2009, 1:03 AM
"After the Amazons' escape from Heracles and Theseus, the tribe split into two factions, one peace-loving, led by Hippolyta, and one vengeful, commanded by her sister Antiope. Antiope was then murdered and Antiopes foster daughter, Phthia, was falsely accused by a son of Theseus. Phthia led Antiope's Amazons to make war with mankind. They later settled in Egypt and founded the city of Bana-Migdall."

I just thought to expand from there when Phthia left maybe she wandered a little bit. Maybe in her travels came upon Iceni Tribe for whatever reason and thats how the connection be made. They make friends, still have contact with dianas tribe tell them about Iceni... I dont know. I was just having fun with it. gg.

The amazons schism is all showed in Wonder Woman v2 #1, and about 30 or 40 issues later Diana finds them while she was chasing Cheetah. First 60 issues are the best, I haven't seen anything better from Wondy since then.

@Keep, encantado de volver por aquí :) I was studying some tests, but I have finished and I am ready to continue my lost causes about soundtracks and Ivana Milicevic as Wonder Woman :D
Merinator - 10/3/2009, 12:02 PM
haha! You want Ivana, I want Jody, Phin & David wants Cobie. Common, they cant find one good WW?! really? We just found 3 ourselves.. they need to put some pep in their step.

I know you're glad to be over with the books huh? when do you go back? not too soon i hope. We missed you =)
KeepItReal - 10/3/2009, 12:41 PM
I will be back to study in two weeeks, but I will have some time to even start a fansite, I think.
Merinator - 10/3/2009, 1:28 PM
coool.. look forward to it. I will be good I know.=) hey, when you write spanish how do you include the accents? I cant do it. =(
KeepItReal - 10/3/2009, 1:35 PM
Well with the spanish keyboard there is a key just to the right of the ñ, if you press it once before you write a vowel it appears on screen with the accent; but in english there is no ñ, so I don't know, sorry.
Merinator - 10/3/2009, 1:39 PM
"I want Jody, Phin & David wants Cobie." Just for the record, I haven't officially thrown my hat in with her. I'm still on the Jodi bandwagon until proven that there be someone as good or better. About Cobie, she looks good enough to do it. I just don't know her acting range yet. I don't trust Gina Carano's acting ability yet. But she could certainly swing a kick around the way I would want WW to do it.

KIR, I'm not sure if they could fit all that in a two and half (or more) origin film and have it be relevant to the flow and story exposition, therein. It certainly would be good to make mention and flashback to this for subsequent stories (like with Cheetah) for serialized sequels.
Phinehas - 10/3/2009, 2:53 PM
K.I.R.- You sure know your Amazon lore! I know it too, I just don't usually have the patience to write out for people like you have! Anyhow, I'm all for an unknown (pending OUR approval of course!), if she's right. Here is Cobie on Smallville, not being very WW-like but it does show some range when compared to the previous clip.

davidcub - 10/3/2009, 5:56 PM
merinator: oh =( I have a laptop. There has to be a way. I will have to figure it out. let me know when you get your site going. =)

Phin: its cool like that too. if they could work it in somehow... why not... i was just having fun with it when you brought it up that day. did you get your hw in on time? sorry, I thought you liked cobie better. cool, jody is my fav too.

"But she could certainly swing a kick around the way I would want WW to do it." That we most certainly do! lol =)

david: thank you. =) i really do love Wonder Woman. I am all for an unknown as well and like you say with OUR approval lol =) it would be cool to be let in on the screening huh. this is clips is ummmm... doesnt really show her in a good light.
KeepItReal - 10/4/2009, 12:55 AM
Keep: I think I may have a solution to your problem with accents, I leave here the link to a website in spanish explaining the solution
