"Green Lantern" Might Be In Trouble!

Worstpreviews is reporting a story(via production weekly) that could have dire consequences for Martin Campbell's comic book adaptation.

"The upcoming DC Comics movie "The Green Lantern," starring Ryan Reynolds, was set to start filming in Australia in about two weeks. Director Martin Campbell has already scouted locations in Sydney and Melbourne.

Now, Production Weekly is reporting that the shoot may be forced to move to another country, due to budget concerns. Even though Australia offers tax incentives, its rising Australian dollar is said to have blown out production costs.

Just recently "Justice League of America" was forced to shut down after Australia refused to give the film a tax break. Will "The Green Lantern" run into similar problems? Stay tuned."

Even if they are forced to relocate I doubt it will stop production altogether, although we could be in for some serious delays folks:(

	Yes, Ror, you are abslutely right that Josh is a southern man but he can do other dialects too! That's why Hollywood has dialect coaches. Look at Bale, he does a perfect American accent, IMO. Some actors are are better than others at doing different accents. It's difficult to do an accent without sounding like it's a humorous impression. 	The mask is going to be tricky to pull off. In some of the pics I've seen of Reynolds as Hal the masks look like Halloween masks. It needs to look realistic and not cheap. 	This is all because Reynolds should've stuck to Wally West and Deadpool I tell you =) jk really, but I'm still not as psyched for it as if Cooper would've gotten it. Could make the mask some glowing manifestation of the ring - would be expensive, and difficult, and time consuming though. Great drawing Shaman - you are quite good my friend, and seem to be able to capture expression and emotion fast, which is not the easiest thing to do fast - as you seem to be pretty prolific. 	Trust me WB's wants to keep this on track for a 2011 Summer release. All the positive buzz with Ryan Reynolds who fared pretty well in the 2009 box office (The Proposal is somewhere around 160 mil right now, LOL, but true). They need this to come out the year before The Dark Knight Returns which most likely is a 2012 (which I really think is a giant year for box office films / fan boy projects / comic book properties) release. 	Woah!!! Thanks for all the comments on my art! It's the first time that it sparked that much argument (aside from Jensen Ackles as Cap of course) :)) Since Holloway is quite new in the biz, he doesn't have "much" on his resume BUT he is a good actor. That's more than we can say for a bunch of tv actors today. And physically, if that's not Olie in that sketch o'mine up there, i dunno who it is! Josh has the PERFECT build and facial structure for Oliver Queen. And his accent is a minor detail that can be worked on in no more than a weekend. I know Set2FallFirst had John Ham in mind which would also be a great GA but not as Perfect as Josh. Both are great actors yet one of them fits the role's physical requirements more than the other. I always pictured Olie being pretty charming actually and if there's something that Josh Holloway has down cold, IT'S CHARM!!! So i'm still waiting on other choices LOL :P LEEE, Sam Worthington can't be Cap cause he's Perseus. And every actor will have to find another carreer since they're major role are done and over with. Put Bale behind bars cause he's illegaly portraying Batman since he's Patrick Bateman. Gotta love logic huh? 	Every time one of these comic movies hits a little snag of some kind, many people here seem to go into these big conniption fits about the whole thing being doomed or whatever and going on these big rants about whoever or whatever the offender is. Let's step back and calm down, okay? This is an obstacle. Almost every movie that is made runs into them. It's not insurmountable. As Rorschach correctly points out, this may cause a delay in the movie's release. What's wrong with that? This gives a little more time to get the script right, to get the cast right, to get the sets right. There are two ways to do any job: fast or right. Which do you want? The end result is that a Green Lantern movie will happen, but it may just take a little longer, and cost a little more to make, depending on where they do wind up shooting. 	@ darth mulder i agree, i would love to see this movie be their next big win. green lantern and batman are really the only DC characters i genuinely like. and if DC has any chance in hell of competing with marvel's movies, they need some more big hits. its funny, because before marvel became a production studio, i actually enjoyed all of the DC/Vertigo movies significantly more than the marvel movies. i can't say the same thing anymore, which makes me very happy! i'm a marvel whore!
