I remember dragging my dad to Halloween II when he wanted to see something else, I was so embarrassed when we left the cinema that it was my choice!

The reason most people didn't go see it was because it was named Halloween 2? I am a fan of his first remake but I've never genuinely wanted to walk out of a movie more than I did Halloween 2. It was just awful.

First off, welcome back, Grif. Secondly, I don't want another Rob Zombie Halloween. I liked that animatic of a Halloween movie that was floating around while back. Give them the job. Cause that business was awesome.

The 1st Halloween was decent he raped Michael in the 2nd. Wtf was up with the hallucinations?? That pissed me off.At least if they make a third installment they can't [frick] it up seeings as how it would be an original story.Season of the Witch sucked major ass!! XD

Its funny that he blames just calling it "halloween 2" as the reason no one went to see it....couldnt be because it was a [frick]ing terrible movie....

Die hard fans can appreciate what they did w/ pt2. It took elements from EVERY Halloween and crammed it into one remake. The barn, the length of time Myers disappeared, Laurie in the asylum, the pentagrams, the hospital, Loomis dying, and much more. It may have been a bit much w/ the whole Sherri-Moon/White horse crap, but it was a solid remake, and in my opinion, superior to the first remake (besides that brutal final shot in the first one)

@jesse

Agreed. Saw them in the day, on the cusp during the Beavis and Butthole era and after the explosion several times.., great live show! Not that big a fan of the Powerman, but respect his brother.., Spyder? :-P

Sorry, back to topic.., I think the first two Halloween films worked. The first was John and Debra's and is dated, but still creepy as hell and the second picked right up and has some great moments for being a quick follow-up. That being said.., the 3rd one, which was intended to be the 2nd(John wanted a series more like Twilight Zone episodes about Halloween, rather than a Myers franchise) has something about it. I like what they attempted with that. Not so much the mask concept and Silver Shamrock jingle, but more the scope of the locations, score and the tone. I'm a Tom Atkins freak so that probably says it all.

@dwayne,ya spyder, i liked some of the powerman stuff, they changed their style every album so some stuff was better than the rest. They did put on a great show just like white zombie though. They brought out giant robots and space ships, almost like a gwar show with less semen :)

@ yingyangpalms-couldn't have said it better myself. Zombie should never have been alowed to touch the Halloween series.

All of Zombies movies are pure garbage and Halloween was a pure slap in the face of the, superior in EVERY way, original.

Who wants to watch Halloween, should watch the real one from carpenter. This one is just like Jason. Micheal never comes through the walls or closed doors and he was never that huge, it was Jason.

For example the scene, where Jamie Lee Curtis makes sure to close everything in the house, but then see looks behind her and there is an open window. That moment everyone knows that michael myers is inside the house already. That was Halloween and not that shit of a remake. Zombie should have done a Friday the 13th movie.

gmoney0505
gmoney0505 - 1/23/2013, 7:25 AM
How about all the characters in the 2nd movie was reduced to nothing but cursing trailer park characters that had no development. You have Loomis on this celebrity act throughout the movie cursing his ass off which is not so his character and he had nothing to do with the movie till the end. Then everyone is saying f*** every 2 seconds. Not only is Micheal Myers too damn tall and big but he is just walking in daylight hallucinating about stupid white horses. Also the first 20 minutes of the movie is a dream sequence so it really has nothing to do with the rest of the 65 minutes of screen time. But yeah people didnt see it cause of the name Halloween 2. Keep dreaming bub.
MrReese
MrReese - 1/23/2013, 8:08 AM
@Shadowelfz the Hospital scene was awesome & completely reminded me of the original H2.He should have just followed that blueprint instead of doing his own take,or at least borrow from most of the story & just put his Zombie-twist when needed.

@SotoJuiceMan that decade still had originality going for it.Now is seems like they just slap a well known title that they know ppl will go c it bcuz they're already fans of said title(movie).They don't care if it sucks the name alone will guarantee a decent amount of audience out of curiosity alone.

@wallhead I watched Friday the 13th yesterday & I agree I'd rather c a sequel to that than Halloween 3.

Of course he doesn't know anything; he jumped ship before the final numbers for Halloween II came in.

But as far as the future, Halloweem Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street are all box-office gold (or, at least, silver). The studios will NOT leave them dead in their crypts for very long. Look at Texas Chainsaw: five years after that horrible prequel (to the awesome remake), we get another (somewhat decent) film. I garuntee you that in five years, all three of them will have another film in theaters or in production.
