Good article. Yeah things need to be changed and updated otherwise iron man would be an anti Russian propaganda movie like the comic was for a while. Also Superman's truth justice and the American way is ridiculous in this day and age. Even Americans now realize there are other ways. I actually think comics nowadays have never been better and the more they update the old characters the better. As in dcs new 52. They should do a shared DC universe based exclusively on that.

Also I'd like to read your thoughts on Thor.

Superman has one of the worst comic book origins ever and it shows in how the character has been handled on both tv and in the movies. Do we ever get to see him taken to the orphanage where baby Clark lifts a big chair over his head and waves it around? Of course not, it would ruin the story since no orphanage would just hand over such a child to anybody. They would most likely contact some government agency and he would become an experiment. Writers have been trying to alter the Superman origin story for decades and whenever it was adapted to tv or as a movie the origin would be largely ignored other than being shipped to Earth from an exploding planet.

Smallville is the only attempt to give Superman an acceptable origin and it took 10 years to straighten out everything. Spider-Man, Batman, they are pretty straightforward as far as origins go. It's not too difficult to say so and so became such because someone important to them was killed and they feel obligated to do something. Just throw in some insanity (in the case of Batman) or selfishly used super abilities (yes, Spiderman) and you got yourself a superhero.

I agree with everything u said. Fantastic article my friend, and it needed to be said.

one thing that people need to realize is that things NEED to be updated. times were different when these comics were created. I'll stick with iron man. He would be much older now if the movie's origim was during Vietnam. Also, the middle east is what people connect to these days, As its a current issue.

If they tried to follow the comics time period then u end up with something lile First Class. A decent movie, bit it destroyed the sense of realistic time. having it take place in the 60's, and showing Cyclops as a child makes him AT LEAST 50 in present days.

While things like that work in comics, it doesnt in movies.
