"Jonah Hex" Moved to June 18, 2010

Does the date change mean everyone's favorite comic book cowboy will be "hexxed?"
"Jonah Hex" has been moved from August 2010 to June 18 2010,the same day that "Toy Story 3" comes out and only 12 days before "Eclipse" comes out. Warner Bros. wants "Hex" to counter program "Toy Story 3."

What a stupid move by Warner Bros. Releasing it in August gave it the chance to succeed at the box office. But now it will have a lot of competition. If the date stays, than it might bomb.

@charbelelnasr:I so agree with you it will be a bomb unless they change the date bact to august.WB can blame themselves for this and not the movie.

DAMN YOU WARNER BROS!!!
Ozymandias - 7/27/2009, 3:53 PM

big mistake. even though kids wont necessarily see jonah hex, there parents will. and they will be in the theatres watching toy story with thier kids. only the teenagers may be available and they cant power a movie like this. plus there will less screens availaible. bad move.

They probably thought that Hex will appeal to the teen-adult male crowd, who wouldn't really have a need for Toy Story 3 and Eclipse, except that those same males have female counterparts that will demand Eclipse and children that will want to see Toy Story... And the women and children almost always come first. Bad move WB.

WTF you lot are on about?? Its coming out earlier!!!

Cool news! FRIG TOY STORY 3 (i thought it was 4? lol)!!! Its not like the ppl that want to watch HEX will go and watch that instead! ; D

Toy Story 3 has 400 million potential (think Shrek 2 box office). WB's shouldn't forget the audience they are using as counter programming were kiddies when the first movie came out (and most likely loved it) and would run to see the the long awaited second sequel.

August was just fine. Jonah Hex isn't a mainstream comic like Spiderman, X-Men or a Batman film it's audience / fan base is narrow so it needs to bring in a lot of the casual fans.

the early weeks of June 2010 expect a ONSLAUGHT of Megan Fox on magazines, tv shows, promotions, commercials, throwing out first pitches at baseball games, cell phone promotions, and fast food promotions. We are gonna see so much Megan Fox on this tip you will forget the hero is a crazy looking cowboy. My ego is looking forward to it....fack!

I've got to be honest, I never heard of this until news started showing up on here about it. On the other hand, I know and love toy story... If i'm oging to pay $10 to go to the movies, I'm going to see toystory.. not a good move in my oppinion if they want this movie to do well, and why wouldnt they want that.
fotc - 7/28/2009, 8:27 AM
I will pay to see both. I love the Toy Story movies, and I love comics, so I will gladly pay to see both.
WulfComicFan - 7/28/2009, 9:17 AM
It's been a long time for another Toy Story film to finally come out . Personaly I think that the film will try too hard to be better than the first one and it will fail .
I am going to see Jonah Hex I can wait for TS3 to come out on DVD.
Jonah Hex will be the better movie to see.
georgia49th - 7/28/2009, 9:29 AM
Placing it on the same day as TS3 is not a good idea. Given the choice, I would see TS3 immediately before Jonah Hex. *sigh* At least move it up a couple of weeks before TS3, that way you make some money.
Gabe - 7/28/2009, 9:40 AM
Guys Guys.... that might have moved it up to make room for another movie to come out that day .. also it probably means they are running ahead of schedule... I have no fear is this movie will make money ... none at all

TOY STORY 3 WILL BE NUMBER 1 AT THE BOX OFFICE AND JONAH HEX WILL BE NUMBER 2 THANKS TO WARNER BROS!

Ozymandias - 7/28/2009, 12:18 PM
Pu-lease TS3 ? that movie will suck ass just as Shrek 3 sucked.
the magic is gone for Toy Story Jonah Hex will out do TS3
it should go right to dvd and spare movie go-ers the pain of watching it on the big screen.

It's like these people learned nothing from the beat down that Salvation got from Night at the Museum, you don't put niche films aimed at adults up against popular family films.
HarrisonBergeron - 7/28/2009, 2:34 PM
WELL LOOK AT THE HANGOVER PEOPLE THAUGHT IT WOULD COME IN 3RD AT THE BOX OFFICE BUT IT BEAT LAND OF THE LOST..BUT WHO KNOW BUT I KNOW IMA BEE IN LINE FOR JONAH HEX....MMMMM MEGAN FOXX =)
DEATHSTROKEE - 7/28/2009, 3:00 PM
I Shall be seeing JONAH HEX instead of TOYSTORY 3 but I do expect toy story 3 to be number 1.
Ozymandias - 7/28/2009, 3:42 PM
Yes but Night at the Museum was a disappointment and quickly dropped at the box office I see the same thing with TS3 a big disappointment
georgia49th - 7/28/2009, 5:49 PM
