Gregg Miller posed the question "Would you  ever do "Justice League Dark" on TV or Netflix?".

"Right now the plans are to make it a feature. We are deep in the screenplay writing phase. I think we see eye to eye (Warners and DC and myself) on what the movie is and I think it will serve really well as a movie."

He went on to praise the characters and express how much joy he is having with the characters such as Constantine and Swamp-Thing. When asked about the TV universe and Constantine, he went on to say...

"The ideal form is to develop the movie. The only thing I made clear to them (the Constantine TV show) is that the TV series will not affect the movie and they said that's okay. Now if we see the TV series and we can mesh with it or cast the same actor depending on where the movie is going then I would be happy to consider (meshing with the show)."

He then went on to say...

"We came in and I tried 2 or 3 different structures for the screenplay. I wrote a 75 page template for the universe... that takes a year... We needed to create a new story. Then we need to go to a screenplay writer. One draft takes between 6 and 8 months. It really takes a while."

In other words:

MexicanSuperman - 7/28/2014, 6:30 PM
@SuperCat, probably until after Justice League comes out.

Sipprelle - 7/28/2014, 6:30 PM
Well though it seems fairly far away, it does look like they're getting a decent amount of traction on it. Hopefully he'll be able to get on it in the near future.
Sipprelle - 7/28/2014, 6:31 PM
@ALegendaryPanda I think it'll probably be 18 ish, but would you rather never get it at all?
SuperCat - 7/28/2014, 6:32 PM
@ TheMexicanSuperman

Guess I'm impatient :)
Kong - 7/28/2014, 6:32 PM
I thought the headline said that Guillermo GAVE UP on JLD. I was like...

but then I was like

and finally was like

waiting for this movie to come out...
UltronMk7 - 7/28/2014, 6:33 PM
I wish DC would confirm some of these movies. All the other studios are grabbing release dates and green lighting movies at a fever pitch, and WB stays mum. I understand Green Lantern flopping is making them cautious, but CBMs are huge right now, jump in. Would love to see a JL Dark film by del Toro. Will be interesting to see how deep into the mythos the Constantine series goes. Already saw Dr Fate's helmet. Now mentioning Swampy at Con with promotional phone number. Del Toro better hurry up before his movie is old news.
DanteSparda - 7/28/2014, 6:37 PM
Cool! Bring it Del Toro!!

Now I wonder if the Flash from the upcoming Justice Leauge movie will be the same from the TV show...
Jollem - 7/28/2014, 6:39 PM
TheGambitFreak - 7/28/2014, 6:39 PM
It doesn't take that long. He's exaggerating. It's just taking him this long cause he, like G.R.R. Martin, has a million projects going on at the same time so he can't focus and get 1 thing done, he ends up working on everything in pieces and that ultimately pushes the release of all the projects back indefinitely. Chris Evans is having issues finishing up his film with Alice Eve due to scheduling conflicts with Marvel as well. It's common. That's why I have little to no respect for Martin and Del Toro. They promise one thing, then take on something else and never finish their original whatever-the-[frick]. Set your mind to one thing and [frick]ing make good on it for God sakes.
ALegendaryPanda - 7/28/2014, 6:41 PM

Good point. It's so long though :(
staypuffed - 7/28/2014, 6:44 PM
I don't really care about this movie, not too sure why people are clamouring for it.
DrunkenNukem - 7/28/2014, 6:46 PM

dckizzle - 7/28/2014, 6:47 PM
Do it I have faith in toro
McGee - 7/28/2014, 6:48 PM
I need Swamp Thing...WE NEED Swamp Thing!

localsonlymills - 7/28/2014, 6:50 PM
I've never read any of these comics...but I am really looking forward to this eventually happening. It sounds like it could be really awesome!
DCGuy - 7/28/2014, 6:58 PM
Jollem - 7/28/2014, 6:59 PM
@staypuffed - personally, i'm looking forward to the movie because i think the characters are pretty damn awesome
JoJo1982 - 7/28/2014, 7:02 PM
It would make a lot of sense to put the tv Constantine in the movie. Especially after finding out, what writers and producers are behind the show
rabid - 7/28/2014, 7:05 PM
I love all these characters individually, and I'm even a huge Peter Milligan fan, but I loathe the Justice League Dark comic. Hopefully Guillermo can do his own thing and not base it on the comic's plot, which I find to be rambling disconnected nonsense that only exists to give popular characters cameo appearances.
Mankzin2 - 7/28/2014, 7:09 PM
Glad to hear that everyone is on the same page for this project. JL Dark will he amazing, just because it will be based on actual MAGIC due to the characters involved in the comic. I say this because I read that Marvel's Doctor Strange will not be based on actual magic, but on some high tech Quantum manipulation crap. Why Marvel is going that route is beyond me, but if Kevin F. says so, so let it be done.
Mothchild - 7/28/2014, 7:11 PM

I hope Etrigan, Xanadu, Deadman, Dr. Fate and Swamp Thing are all included.

I'm kinda hoping they rebrand it though. This could be a good opportunity to diversify some of the DC comic book team names. These guys wouldn't call themselves the JL Dark anyway.
Mankzin2 - 7/28/2014, 7:14 PM
I think Marvel announcing all these dates is kinda stupid, I believe they are just setting themselves up for a fall. I like that DC isn't announcing all their movies, it seems that they are vested in making a great productm
Jollem - 7/28/2014, 7:15 PM
@rabid - gdt's an old-school fan of the individual characters. they way he's talked about them in interviews makes me think he going to do this more than "justice" :)

@Mothchild - del toro mentioned all of those characters specifically in interviews except dr. fate
Mothchild - 7/28/2014, 7:17 PM
@ Jollem Cool beans

On another topic...did you guys see what could be the Invisible Jet in that WW image?
bobevanz - 7/28/2014, 7:17 PM
I'm all for the movie. I hated the pilot
Platinum - 7/28/2014, 7:20 PM
I thought the headline said "gives up on" lol. Might as well though cause this is most likely not gonna happen.
JoshuaDBr - 7/28/2014, 7:25 PM
There needs to be an Animal Man and a Swamp Thing with the Red and the Green.
DrKinsolving - 7/28/2014, 7:33 PM
JayJayCAW - 7/28/2014, 7:33 PM
come on, give us something Del Torro, forget Pacific Rim 2...make J.L.D. first ;)
JeighJeigh - 7/28/2014, 7:34 PM
I NEED THIS MOVIE. Constantine, my favorite DC character, on the big screen?!?! HELL YES. Swamp Thing, Dead man, Etrigan the Demon, and Zatanna??? Hell yea!!!! Give me Frankenstein as well and I'll die happy. MAKE THIS HAPPEN PLEASE.
Nomis - 7/28/2014, 7:39 PM
@ mcGee - LOL!

I love that cartoon.
SidDaAstroSloth - 7/28/2014, 7:47 PM
