According to Sneekpeektv, a Canadian movie news blog, September 5th marked the first day of principal photography for the long-awaited cinematic adaptation of Alan Moore's and Dave Gibbons' 4-color masterpiece Watchmen.
The site also has posted photos of a scene shot in downtown Vancouver the next day.
The location was a walk-up studio on Beatty Street, re-dressed for a circa-1975 Andy Warhol factory Christmas Party, which included appearances by such "wild looking characters" as Truman Capote and...Hitler?
But here's an interesting fact: the scene described is NOT in Alex Tse’s early script draft.
Still, it appears that the movie-that-would-never-happen is now underway, guided by the formidable hand of Director Zack (300) Snyder.
