Watchmen Interior Shots Visit Smallville

News coming out of the Watchmen universe by way of Watchmencomicmovie.com is that some interior and exterior shots have been filmed at a seemingly popular filming location.

Riverview Hospital in Vancouver is the location, and so far its filming history includes being used as the Gilette Manticore base in the TV series Dark Angel. In addition it has provided shots for television series Smallville and Supernatural as well as movies such as Ghost Ship and X-Men.

Now, Watchmen only just arrived at my doorstep yesterday afternoon while I was napping, so I’m yet to become an expert on it. But the fine people over at WCM suggest that “the interior scenes they are shooting are the various prison sequences”.

One of the production assistants on site also revealed that, while they were packing up this evening, they had one more set up to film; a protest scene to be filmed on the East Lawn. Apparently, there was a sign on the building that read “State University”, an old painted school bus and an American flag.

So, as I finish writing for today, I can safely tell you that I’ll be going to start reading the Watchmen right away. Needless to say, I’m still really excited about this movie!
