Dark Horse Comics unveils the cover art to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull comic adaptation

Movie fans and comic book fans alike have been eagerly anticipating the return of one of the greatest heroes of our generation: Indiana Jones. The film, directed by Steven Spielberg and executive produced by George Lucas sees Harrison Ford returning as the professor/adventurer, this time facing off against sinister agents of the Soviet Union. Set in 1957, the film centers around the real-life discovery of crystal skulls of unknown origin found in Mexico, Central and South America.

Producer Frank Marshall told USA Today:

"The theory is they are shaped by higher powers or alien powers or came from another world, or an ancient Mayan civilization had the powers."

The film also stars Cate Blanchett, Karen Allen, Ray Winstone, John Hurt, Jim Broadbent, and Shia Lebeouf as "Mutt Williams," Indy’s protégé.

With the film debuting worldwide on May 22nd, it’s only fitting that Dark Horse Comics has scheduled the release of the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull TPB to coincide with the film’s release.
