Once again we turn to the inquisitive folk over at IESB to find out the latest news, and according to them, it doesn’t look wonderful.
Apparently production departments have told their crews that this is the week it will all be known. The crews know that the problems stem from the cast and script, with the latter being the biggest problem thanks to the WGA strike. The crews have been told that, if something isn’t resolved, pre-production will simply come to a halt.
The biggest problem for the JL movie is the script, as mentioned. Minor tweaks made during a movie are commonplace, and one must only watch the behind the scenes features form the Lord of the Rings movies to find that out. But without any writers on set no one is quite sure what to do.
According to IESB, there have been rumors of late suggesting that some big name studios, in the process of making big comic book movies, are considering hiring non-WGA comic book authors as advisors and producers. This neatly get’s around the problem by providing skilled people to tweak the script, but I still have a question; would these comic book authors even agree to such a deal?
Needless to say, make sure you stay tuned to CBM, because we’ll make sure we get the news out there as soon as anyone hears of it.
