It was revealed on Zachary Quinto's official blog, that he has been living as a gay man and had finally decided to come out of the closet. It was the suicide of Jamey Rodemeyer and other gay teenagers that finally convinced him to reveal himself publicly, he said on his blog:

"when i found out that jamey rodemeyer killed himself - i felt deeply troubled. but when i found out that jamey rodemeyer had made an it gets better video only months before taking his own life - i felt indescribable despair. i also made an it gets better video last year - in the wake of the senseless and tragic gay teen suicides that were sweeping the nation at the time. but in light of jamey's death - it became clear to me in an instant that living a gay life without publicly acknowledging it - is simply not enough to make any significant contribution to the immense work that lies ahead on the road to complete equality. "

Quinto has starred in the successful show 'Heroes' playing the superpowered villain Sylar aswell as landing a lead role in the remake of 'Star Trek' as Spock, a role which boosted Leonard Nimoy to fame. I am very very happy that Zachary Quinto has finally made it public, it is surely going to inspire more people to stand up and be counted, without fear.

Here is his 'It Gets Better' video.

'Immortals' star Luke Evans came out of the closet years ago and now he's trying to go back in .. but I hope he comes out again!

BooYah - 10/16/2011, 12:11 PM
Woah!:o Sylar just got way less intimidating. lol Just joking. Dont care still a good Spock.
CherryBomb - 10/16/2011, 12:21 PM
@ncreb I agree! society focuses too much on labels, sexuality shouldn't matter, I'm bisexual and people still have stigma against that, I wish more people would be accepting,

but now a sorta, 'Hollywood' star has come out, it will hopefully inspire more actors to come out.
CapA - 10/16/2011, 12:23 PM
Good for him ! I hope it'll help other people along the way. :)

@BATMAN1X Well, Star Trek's always featured on here, it was some 'news' I guess, so I thought it should be known to the community on here. (:
imnotahero - 10/16/2011, 12:39 PM
Go erotic fan fiction writers! To your keyboards! A new world of sexual Star Trek fantasies await you!

But in all seriousness, good for him.

@Sorcerer123 I totally agree.

As long as being a homo doesn't affect his performance, he can do whatever he wants. Just make more Star Trek, and we is cool homeslice

@teabag thank you! I'm so glad it was Zachary Quinto that popped my 'cherry' - so to speak. ;)
RunDTC - 10/16/2011, 2:01 PM
@EarthToOle: gay people DO make themselves gay. no one is born gay.
Nexus6 - 10/16/2011, 2:05 PM
yep it's definitely not a choice! jack and jill went up the hill so jack could lick jill's fanny. but jack got a shock and a gob full of cock, cos jill's a fricking tranny!;)
jazzman - 10/16/2011, 2:13 PM
@RunDTC

their are people who are born gay. u can tell with some kids that they going to be gay in the future.
Nexus6 - 10/16/2011, 2:13 PM
gay people are gay dude, nothing to do with environment
Nexus6 - 10/16/2011, 2:14 PM
@ jazzman, yep, spot on!
PaulRom - 10/16/2011, 2:14 PM
@CherryBomb Nice job on your first article ;)
Personally, I don't care if someone's gay or not. I don't agree with the lifestyle, but it still exists and I can't do anything about it. As for Quinto, at least he's being honest about his sexuality.
RunDTC - 10/16/2011, 2:15 PM
@EarthToOlu: I mean, people are not born gay. they decide themselves that they are gay.
PaulRom - 10/16/2011, 2:21 PM
@RunDTC I agree, whether or not someone is gay is completely up to them. Sure they may feel more attracted to the same sex than the opposite, but I don't think that means they're born gay, persay. The way I see it, it's like being hungry, but whether or not you eat is up to you. (may not be the best comparison)
CherryBomb - 10/16/2011, 2:24 PM
@PaulRom Fair enough! atleast you're honest. (:
and thank you! ^_^
NextHero08 - 10/16/2011, 2:25 PM
Nice, very nice.
Nexus6 - 10/16/2011, 2:28 PM
@rundtc, why would anyone choose to be gay, unless they're lady gaga's friends?;)
jazzman - 10/16/2011, 2:31 PM
@RunDTC

nah man they can be born gay the only time they decide if they want to come out and say they gay. but with a few young kids u can see they have homosexual side to them
jazzman - 10/16/2011, 2:33 PM
@Nexus6

lady gaga friends LOL

"U Go Girlfriend" :P LMAO
Nexus6 - 10/16/2011, 2:35 PM
@sorcerer123,i'm just regurgitating the hangover i have!;)well, good on zachary, when do you think kevin spacey will out himself?;)
BlackCat1 - 10/16/2011, 2:42 PM
great article CherryBomb, GO GAY PRIDE!

-I don't believe all gay people are going to hell, I think it depends on their actions and what they do in their lifetime
CherryBomb - 10/16/2011, 2:50 PM
I'm bisexual and I don't think it's a 'choice' - nor do I think being gay is a choice, we choose to act on our thoughts and emotions, but we can't help feeling an attraction.

@BalckCat1 Thank you (:
Jagfan28 - 10/16/2011, 2:58 PM
As far as I'm concerned with people in Hollywood coming out; this sums it up nicely:
http://youtu.be/8d4DHgVBSL8

P.S. I CAN'T STAND FAMILY GUY or any other piece of crap Seth MacFarlene makes, but it's a good video.
CherryBomb - 10/16/2011, 3:21 PM
@jagfan finally! someone who agrees with me, Family Guy sucks!
Nexus6 - 10/16/2011, 3:27 PM
@ cherry, you look a lot like cheryl cole in your avatar pic!
BatSlam - 10/16/2011, 3:30 PM
Being Gay is not a choice, 1st off ask any gay human, why would some one choose to feel like an outcast and to be ridiculed if they could choose not to. If you do any research, every major government and non government funded health department - the american medical association, the american psychiatric association, the american psychological association, the american psychoanalytic association, the american accademy of pediatrics, The national association of workers, they all say that you are basically born gay. Also to those who say it is not natural, you should research that, Homosexuality appears over and over in the animal kingdom, ducks, lions, pigs, deer, monkeys, foxes, zebra, sheep - and that is again, just naming a few.

For those people who like to quote the bible where it says that laying with another man is an abomination. the abomination translation is more like, out of the normal and not our definition of abomination. If you really read the passage, a sentence before that says that eating shrimp is an abomination, but I dont see long john silvers getting boycotted. the bible also tells the proper ways to sell your daughter into slavery. So maybe people who "fallow gods words" should listen to one that I like the most, " leave judgement for the lord". Go cast your 1st stone somewhere else, maybe at the mirror.
jazzman - 10/16/2011, 3:34 PM
@CherryBomb

i know someone who is a lesbian and she dont like girls who say they bisexual women. shes say girls who say they bisexual are just straight woman who play on men fantasy. also she say that a man who say they are bisexual are actually gay man who fooling themselves.
jazzman - 10/16/2011, 3:39 PM
@Nexus6
