Absolutely dreadful Parker and Spider-Man. Nothing against the actor himself but his portrayal and the film's characterization did not work in the slightest imo
TexasTwoFace - 12/17/2014, 3:12 PM
I like Garfield as Spider-man. I don't think ASM2's issues were Garfield's fault at all.
Chloefornication - 12/17/2014, 3:13 PM
Yes or no. Whatever. I just think it's a shama Garfield didn't have a chance to do a good spidey and peter because the script sucks.
TDKReturns - 12/17/2014, 3:16 PM
ITS NOT ANDREW ITS SONY WE DONT WANT!!!!!!!!!
hawkeyevision - 12/17/2014, 3:16 PM
no
James99201 - 12/17/2014, 3:17 PM
Andrew didn't mess it up the fact it 2 hours of a 3 hour movie made it awful
GodzillaKart - 12/17/2014, 3:17 PM
I like Garfield in the roll, but with a reboot or a move to Marvel, it's probably better to recast.

What a waste of a great cast this reboot has been.
GodzillaKart - 12/17/2014, 3:18 PM
I will add that, although his Spider-Man towered over Toby's version, his PP never felt right to me. I blame that on the writing, however, not Garfield.
Wannabe - 12/17/2014, 3:21 PM
His Spider-Man was spot-on. Garfield did his best with the two garbage scripts Sony gave him and he still nailed it. I wouldn't be opposed to him returning. Hopefully, it'll be when Spidey is under Feige's creative control.
TheNightmareVirus - 12/17/2014, 3:21 PM
I'd like to see what Marvel could do with Garfield's Spider-Man. The fault of ASM2 was by far studio interference and Mark Webb. His idea for all the villains coming from Oscorp is what I believe ultimately ruined the Amazing Spider-Man film franchise. Tying them all into Oscorp is what allowed them to throw too many villains into ASM2.

ASM2 I think would have been an ultimately better film if they would have left out Electro, and focused specifically on CHRIS COOPER, who should have became Green Goblin rather than Dane DeHaan's Harry Osborn. There was nothing wrong with Rhino really, as I think having him in the opening and the ending was more than enough time for him. I really enjoyed Paul Giamatti as Aleksei, to be honest. His performance was hammy, yes, but I never pictured Rhino being a serious villain anyways.

I just hope that whether it's Marvel or Sony that reboots the franchise, they will include Venom at some point. I was so excited for the Venom spin-off, considering Venom is my favourite Marvel character period. The character deserves some justice after Spider-Man 3. As long as Marvel or Sony choose Ryan Kwanten as Brock/Venom, I will forever sleep happy.

(Seriously though, if you haven't seen the Truth in Journalism: Venom short film that stars Ryan Kwanten as Eddie Brock, go watch it now. It looks cheaply made and it technically really is, especially when you see Venom, but Kwanten's performance as Eddie Brock is fantastic.)

I like Andrew's Spider-Man. He was the only thing good to come out of Amazing Spider-Man -outside of Emma Stone, of course. The issue was the weakness in retelling the Spidey origin and the weakness of the villians. I hope that if Andrew isn't Spider-Man that Marvel can utlilize him in some way into the MCU. Andrew Garfield isn't the one who should be blamed for the movies -blame Sony and Avi for not having a clear vision.
LehnsienJaw - 12/17/2014, 3:23 PM
bring on the reboot

or the MASS MURDER
SanFranLand - 12/17/2014, 3:26 PM
no. please NO!!!!!!!!
DoctorDoak - 12/17/2014, 3:27 PM
Garfield's casting is the only good thing about those films, and it's not his fault the character was written so awfully. Such a wasted opportunity.
AlexanderLykins - 12/17/2014, 3:38 PM
New blood.
ReeferInferno - 12/17/2014, 3:46 PM
I've hated him as Peter Parker from the start
Parkerluckpersonified - 12/17/2014, 3:52 PM
wow i think this is the most evenly split vote i've seen
CaptainMexico - 12/17/2014, 3:55 PM
That's a big no. He's no Peter Parker. Find me someone who looks less junky-isn.
Lenbert - 12/17/2014, 4:00 PM
Whats with peoples fascination with Garfield, his acting was terrible. I hate the skinny, arrogant spidey with all that pretentious hipster shit, and hated the whole romantic story that webb is only capable of. I want my spidey to have a bit of muscle like Maguire. Am I the only one who thinks organic web shooters are the way to go, without them spiderman is just a guy who sticks to walls they may as well call him bug man.

Let Marvel reboot him, have him see flashbacks to battle of New York and gain his powers some time between AOU and Civil War. Either buy the rights back or rent them just do it!
JimBobBilly - 12/17/2014, 4:17 PM
With a good story i think he'd do just fine.
danielstern4lyf - 12/17/2014, 4:18 PM
no
GizmoEl - 12/17/2014, 4:26 PM
Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Marc Webb were honestly the highlights of this franchise. I would love to see Webb return without the studio forcing him to cram in material. The man seemed to really care
CoolMccool - 12/17/2014, 4:41 PM
Reboot without Garfield
huexolotl - 12/17/2014, 4:41 PM
I didn't watch either movie because of Andrew. I don't see what people like about him.
JerBear - 12/17/2014, 5:04 PM
I'm tired of recasting. Garfield is a great Spider-Man as it is, and many people are invested in him. It's almost like replacing the Chrises as Cap and Thor.
VIRILEMAN - 12/17/2014, 5:25 PM
I want him back either way. He was a much better Peter Parker than Tobey any day of the week.
MrFrostxxx - 12/17/2014, 5:32 PM
Garfield was ok but I think Spider-man needs to be Marvel property for sure.
ThanosonEarth - 12/17/2014, 5:40 PM
Hells NO. Dump him, give Marvel creative control of Spidey, Sony should concentrate on growing some balls, the pansies caved to a bunch of hacks.
PeterParker1991 - 12/17/2014, 5:55 PM
Garfield belongs with Marvel Studios. @ VirileMan: Agreed, although Tobey didn't really set any bars, other than how many times he could rip off his mask and cry like a bitch, LMAO
cimmerian - 12/17/2014, 5:58 PM
No. No. And No. Had enough of him and Sony. Wasted 6 hours of my life watching is something I'll regret for the rest of my life....
Wow! That's harsh. Anyhow, what I clearly want is a clean slate. The only logical answer is a new Spider-Man movie by Marvel Studios.
lanternstorm - 12/17/2014, 6:32 PM
He def. looks more the part as Spiderman than Toby did... Toby was to stocky in costume while Garfield has the perfect body type. Toby was def. a better Peter Parker though. They need to find someone who's a perfect balance of the two. I could see someone like Daniel Radcliffe, Aaron Johnson, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Josh Hutcherson, Drake Bell, and Anton Yelchin
Mastyrwerk - 12/17/2014, 6:56 PM
He's shit canned anyway. Sony doesn't want him; Marvel doesn't want him; one third of the CBM community doesn't want him.

Let's move on and get excited about the next phase in Spidey's cinematic history.
FarkinA - 12/17/2014, 7:10 PM
If Spiderman remains in Sony's grasp it will never make any money for them because they botched what should be a no brainer. A spectacular Spiderman movie shouldn't be so hard to make. Keep Andrew. Call Sam Raimi and BOOM! Instant blockbuster. Most important of all. Give Spiderman back to Marvel where he belongs. The grounds are much more fertile there. Nothing can grow in Sony's barren fields.
Tiger73 - 12/17/2014, 7:58 PM
Andrew did a good job. He captured the essence of Peter's nerdy, charm and SpiderMan's quips. Just keep Toby McGuire far away from the role period.
Nemeres - 12/17/2014, 8:20 PM
I think this about proves it: people hate what they think they're supposed to hate. If RDJ's Iron Man movies were going through the same situation as Spidey and everyone was lambasting them, you'd also get a flock of whiners swearing that they never want to see him again.
Inhuman - 12/17/2014, 8:35 PM
Hell [frick]in no. Reboot and give me that Percy Jackson kid
Bluebolt1967 - 12/17/2014, 9:10 PM
Between the brooding and the stuttering, I couldn't stand his portrayal of Peter Parker in the first movie and I didn't bother going to the second one. Seriously, he kind of creeped me out a little bit - at times, he seemed like the scary kind of loner that you always kind of fear could do something really bad. I didn't get any Peter Parker vibe from him at all. Toby was much better.
repulse93 - 12/17/2014, 9:36 PM
It seems and sounds like whatever the faults of the films, Garfield wasn't one of them. Blaming him is like blaming Christensen for Anakin - an actor can only do so much without a good director or writer.
chrispunk28 - 12/17/2014, 9:37 PM
no this scumbag had his chance...bring some new blood
lexxust - 12/17/2014, 10:39 PM
