Having seen the extended footage from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom last week at CinemaCon, trust me when I say that you haven't seen anything yet.

The upcoming J.A. Bayona-directed blockbuster will see Isla Nublar meet an untimely demise at the hands of a volcano, but not before Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) return to help save Blue, Rexy, and all the other dinosaurs from another extinction. However, the situation will go from bad-to-worse when the pair return to the mainland and realize that the organization they've been working with unsurprisingly lied to them about their true intentions, which are to sell the dinosaurs as killing machines to the highest bidders.

It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.

When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

With all of the wonder, adventure and thrills synonymous with one of the most popular and successful series in cinema history, this all-new motion-picture event sees the return of favorite characters and dinosaurs—along with new breeds more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before. Welcome to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

I think when this is released we’ll find out that this movie has completely spoiled itself for anyone who has seen both trailers and even one tv spot. I mean they said that the stuff on the island is the first 3/4 of the film. They’ve revealed everyone makes it off the island safely. And what happens when they do. We know the end of just about every action beat before they leave the island. They’ve shown the end of the ‘Chris and Trex in a trailer’ bit, the end of the dino in the underground bunker (they close a hatch and escape safely), the end of the volcano sequence (they roll into the water, everyone survives on a beach). I think they made a movie everyone has seen with a fresh ending for the final quarter, then realised after the first trailer that nobody wanted to see the same movie again, so they started marketing it like that last quarter is what the film should have been: dinos let loose on the world.

Only thing here that looks remotely fresh is the dino in the bedroom and the mososaur in the surf. But we’ll have to trudge through an hour and a half of a Lost World remake to get there.
