For many years fans of Star Wars have moaned and wailed against George Lucus for his new trilogy and its overuse of CGI. Many more have been angered at his tampering of the old trilogy by adding in new scenes and even more CGI. However according to the sources at comicbook.com Disney has plans to release the orginal trilogy on Bluray as seen as it was in theaters.

here is an Excerpt from the article by Comicbook.com

According to our sources, Disney has plans to release the orginal cut of the Star Wars trilogy on Blu-ray. Our sources indicate that the project has been underway for quite some time, but it's been challenging because of some damage to the orginal negatives they are utilizing. The goal is to release A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi in their complete, unaltered, orginal form without the redone special edition SFX

In all honesty this is the only part of ComicBook's article that you should keep in yours:

Having all that stuff makes it seem like you just copied the article and pasted it.

And make a fan site. Having an article filtered through a fan site removes the black outline.
DudeGuyMan - 8/16/2014, 1:10 PM
MrBlackjack - 8/16/2014, 1:10 PM
There's a black outline?
Pasto - 8/16/2014, 1:11 PM
You don't see the black outline around the article?
MrBlackjack - 8/16/2014, 1:12 PM
I do now.
StarYeezus - 8/16/2014, 1:12 PM
Pasto - 8/16/2014, 1:12 PM
Yeah, that only happens to articles that aren't filtered through a fan site. I don't know why, it wasn't like that before.
MrBlackjack - 8/16/2014, 1:12 PM
Shit, now that's going aggravate me.
Pasto - 8/16/2014, 1:13 PM
Welcome to my world.
Dingbat - 8/16/2014, 1:14 PM
I will take back all the bad things I've said about Disney

BANEofExistence - 8/16/2014, 1:14 PM
YES pleas e do it Disney! Fans have been crying for this! This is the one time people will ask for the version with worse graphics and special effects :p
SauronsBANE - 8/16/2014, 1:14 PM
I've heard this rumor hundreds of times already, and I've seen it debunked each and every time. I'll believe it when I see it.

Until then, you can torrent the "de-specialized" editions of each movie in the original trilogy.
Sipprelle - 8/16/2014, 1:15 PM
[frick] yeah!
ekrolo2 - 8/16/2014, 1:18 PM
I don't really care about most of the changes, they don't detract anything for me and some shit like the Emperors face in Ep 5 and the shit music at the end of six needed to be changed.
Pasto - 8/16/2014, 1:18 PM
Another piece of advice, put the excerpt of the article in blockquote. Thats real easy to do. Just use the HTML code: < block quote > and < / block quote > (Side note: Remove the spaces for it to work).

Once you do that, it will look like this:

OCD flaring up over here.
Dingbat - 8/16/2014, 1:25 PM
I actually do like a few of the changes but some od them are just so stupid.

I hate this scene so much
PunkRockJesus - 8/16/2014, 1:32 PM
Please God make this true! Take my money!
JediPhilosopher - 8/16/2014, 1:35 PM
What I think the industry needs is a way to permanenty preserve the works so they don't have to keep going back to negatives. WTF would they still need to do that? That's insane. They need a way to copy the negatives to digital in higher resolution than they'll ever need. Then they can go to THAT when they do a remaster.
XF14 - 8/16/2014, 1:40 PM
The only thing I didnt like about the special editions was the infamous Vader NOOOOOOOOOOO. The musical numbers were dumb but most things were for the better.
Himura - 8/16/2014, 1:40 PM
@ManofSteel23
Theres also the fact that luke is holding a blaster and han and leia have lightsabers...
TheBeard - 8/16/2014, 1:51 PM

Boredom is the first step on the road to relapse man.
COREY6487 - 8/16/2014, 1:56 PM
disney with one thing has probably wanked the hater/doubters of them taken over with this move. i bet they are very happy with disney now hahahaha

it is crazy how luccas altered the franchise so much. he really believed cgi is the best. he didnt need to change his movie.
ManWithNoName - 8/16/2014, 1:57 PM
Thanks Pasto
MexicanChinman - 8/16/2014, 1:59 PM
I hope not because "real" Starwars fans don't deserve it. Hell most of them hate episode 6. I don't think this "news" is real anyways.
marvel72 - 8/16/2014, 2:01 PM
this has to happen, please be true.
MexicanChinman - 8/16/2014, 2:03 PM
@COREY6487, like I've before the prequels had more practical effects than the originals put together.
Maxi91291 - 8/16/2014, 2:13 PM
OMG they are actually listening.
RexDartEskimoSpy - 8/16/2014, 2:30 PM
@MexicanSuperman:

That claim makes no sense. Every ship, walker, speeder, etc in the original trilogy is a model or life-size prop. Everything but the lightsaber blades and blaster shots were practical in-camera effects. And, no surprise, they still look real. The prequels look fake and get faker looking as time goes by, and the modern CGI alterations to the originals look even worse next to the practical effects.
AC1 - 8/16/2014, 2:32 PM
I've never seen the original theatrical versions of the trilogy - just the 1997 and Blu-Ray edits, and you can tell where all the CGI crap and other stupid stuff has been added in. I still love the trilogy as I've seen them, but I'd love it if Disney released the unaltered versions on Blu-Ray.

Having said that, it'd be amazing if "perfect" versions of the trilogy could be released - no edits to the actual story, or any of the silly stuff like the unnecessary CGI aliens or replacing Sebastian Shaw with Hayden Christensen or making Greedo shoot first, or changing Obi-Wan's screech or making Vader scream "NOOOOOOO!" all the time - but correcting things like inconsistent lightsaber colours, or removing technical gaffs, better sound mixing, enhanced visual quality, and things like putting Ian McDiarmid's Emperor's face in The Empire Strikes back instead of the original, weird version of the Emperor from that movie. Not altered versions of the movies, just enhanced.
